Liberal MLA, Edmonton-Manning
Mr. Gibbons was first elected to the Alberta Legislature in 1997. He is critic responsible for municipal affairs in the Liberal opposition.
Education: Structural steel drafting program at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Professional experience: 23 years in small business administration and sales. Sales manager for McKinley Heating Ltd.
Past and present community involvement includes: President of Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues; planning committee, Northeast Edmonton Hospital during early 1980s; representative, area and community need studies for City of Edmonton and Northeast Edmonton; chair of committee behind joint use program between two school boards and City of Edmonton; chair of City Wide Ice Arena Strategy; minor league hockey executive in Edmonton for 18 years; community volunteer for 20 years. In 1988, Mr. Gibbons received the Volunteer of the Year award, City of Edmonton national award.
Born on March 1, 1949, he is married to Carolyn. They have three children and two grandchildren.
