Dunford, Hon. Clint
Progressive Conservative MLA, Lethbridge-West
Clint Dunford was first elected to the Alberta Legislature as MLA for Lethbridge-West on June 15, 1993. He was re-elected to a second term on March 11, 1997 and appointed Minister of Advanced Education and Career Development, Responsible for Student Finance Board and Personnel Administration Office.
Mr. Dunford is currently a Member of the Standing Policy Committee on Education and Training; the Standing Policy Committee on Financial Planning and Human Resources; and the Montana/Alberta Advisory Committee. During his tenure at the Legislature, he also has served as: Member of Standing Policy Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development; Member of Standing Policy Committee on Health Restructuring; Member, Public Affairs Committee; Member, Parliamentary Reform Committee; Chair, Standing Committee on Alberta Heritage Saving and Trust Fund; Chair, Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Review Committee, and Chair, Productivity Plus Committee.
Prior to becoming an MLA, Clint was President and Owner of CED Consulting Ltd., Lethbridge. His other private sector positions have included Human Resources Director for Dresser Industries Inc.; Manager of the Canadian Manufacturers' Association, Alberta Division; and Industrial Relations Manager for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Dunford has been an active member of his community, serving as a Director of the Southern Alberta Junior Achievement Association, a corporate fund raiser of the United Way Campaign, a member of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and as a Director of the Lethbridge International Air Show. He also has enjoyed memberships with Toastmaster International and the Lethbridge Oldtimers Sports Association.
Clint was raised in Portreeve, Saskatchewan. He now makes his home in Lethbridge. Clint is married to Gwen. He has one son, Ryan, three step-sons and one grandson.
