Liberal MLA Edmonton-Riverview
Linda Sloan was first elected to the Alberta Legislature in 1997. She is now critic responsible for Family and Social Services in the Liberal opposition.
Ms. Sloan is a Registered Nurse with a diploma from Foothills Hospital School of Nursing. She practiced direct nursing from 1981 to 1992 in areas of burns, plastic surgery and emergency.
Linda was president of the Staff Nurses Associations of Alberta from 1992 to 1996, Alberta National Officer, National Federation of Nurses Union Executive Board from 1992 to 1996, and Provincial Counsellor, Alberta Association of Registered Nurses from 1994 to the present. She was a participant and vice chair of the Nova Scotia Tour 1995, Governor General's Canadian Study Conference - 'The Employer and Employee: Building Stronger Relationships for a Better Canada'. Past and Present Community Involvement: Coordinator, 1994 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure (Edmonton event).
Born on June 27, 1960 and married to David, she has two children. A resident of Alberta since 1978, and a resident of Edmonton since 1983.
