Haley Faye MacFarlane-Bowser

MacFARLANE-BOWSER, Haley Faye - 25 days, passed to God from the loving arms of Mommy and Daddy on December 10, 2003, in IWK Health Centre, Halifax. Born November 15, 2003, she was the infant daughter of Kelly Anne MacFarlane and Derrick Steven Bowser, Dartmouth.

She is also survived by proud older brother, Joshua Stephen; grandparents, Mary Hull, Millville, N.B.; Terry and Faye MacFarlane, Dartmouth; great-grandmother, Mabel Bellfontaine; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends who supported her and her parents over the past few weeks. T

hough she came to us too early and was here for only a short time, her courage and strength touched all of us who came to love her and will forever treasure her spirit.

Private family service is under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Special thanks to staff at IWK SNCU Unit for their dedication and endless efforts over the past few weeks.

Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to SNCU, IWK Health Centre.

Gary Charles Zwicker

ZWICKER, Gary Charles - 57, Cole Harbour, passed away December 8, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Bray) Zwicker. He was an employee of Pepsi Cola Canada for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Lunn; sons, Gary, Barry and Kevin, all of Dartmouth; sisters, Shirley, Eileen, Linda, Bonnie, Nancy and Debbie; brothers, Frank, Bruce, Wayne, David, Brian and Dale.

He was predeceased by sister, Isabel; brother, Ross.

Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Pam Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.

Donations in memory may be made to The Lung Association.

George Harris Bowes

Bowes, George H. - 81 of dartmouth passed away December 7, 2003 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. born in Dartmouth he was a son of the late George and Anni (Harris) Bowes.

He was a career electrician with the Naval Armament Depot. George was a member of IOOF of Dartmouth. he had many friends in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, where he maintained a cottage for many years at Wood Islands North.

Surviving are daughter Thelma Hancock (Paul Hobbs); grandson Christopher Hancock (Shelly Campbell), Sydney; Evelyn (Harry) Langille, Mahone Bay; great nieces and nephews, Denise, Deborah, Reg, Mark Cheryl, Stephen, Christine.

George was predeceeased by his wife Joan Bowes, brother Byron, sister Ruby Baldwin.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1-2 pm Thursday followed a Memorial Service 2pm, Rev. Gordon Murrary officiating, all at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. A reception will be held in the funeral home followed by burial in Mount Herman Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church.

Andrew B. Gale

GALE, Andrew B. - Andrew's family sadly announces his passing on December 7, 2003, at the age of 71, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Christine (Dimmer); loving father of David and Josephine (MacDonnell), Halifax; Dean, Quispamsis, N.B.; James and Mitzy (Sargent), Pickering, Ont., and grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, and Brittany.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Jessie; an infant son, and son, Daniel; brothers, Edward, John, and Michael.

He is survived by brothers, Gerald, Frank, Gordon, Paul, Robert, Pius, Wallace; sister, Loretta, all of Newfoundland; brother, Bernie, Australia; many nieces and nephews.

Andrew was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, retiring as chief petty officer after 25 years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Andrew's family would like to convey their thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, for their care and support over the past several months.

Friends will be received in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with Legion service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service to be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, in St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, corner of Robie Street and Normandy Drive, Halifax, Father Gilbert J. Bertrand, OMI officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII or IWK Health Centre Foundation.

Levi Wall

WALL, Levi - 87, Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital with family present. Born February 29, 1916, in Great Deer, Sask., he was a son of the late Johann and Helena (Reimer) Wall. Levi served as a full-time minister for Jehovah's Witnesses since 1954 until the time of his death.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Levi is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Elizabeth Lindstedt. He will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in the faith. He was predeceased by two sisters and 10 brothers.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, December 8, in Dartmouth Sportsplex Common Room, Mr. Ken Little officiating. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Watchtower World Wide Work, 35 Atlantic St., Dartmouth, NS B2W 4P4 would be appreciated.

Robert D. Sisk

SISK, Robert D. - 52, Halifax, died from amyloidosis on December 4, 2003, after a long and heroic battle.

With his courageous wife Claire (Cook) Sisk at his side, they researched, crossed the ocean and found many answers together. Bob was a Captain in the HRM Fire Service. Bob was also a graduate of NSCAD which explains his wonderfully creative side. He was the son of Isobel Sisk, Moncton, and the late Edwin Sisk.

No funeral service, cremation has taken place. It was his wish that a wake take place in due time.

No fuss, just give to the next homeless person and say it is from Bob.

Many thanks to the members of HRM Fire Services. Extreme gratitude to Professor Philip Hawkins, National Amyliodosis Centre, London, England and most of all to Dr. Jalal Hosein, a good and decent man.
