BAST, Dorothy - Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, on Wednesday, June 6, 2001, Dorothy Bast, in her 83rd year. Wife of the late Roy E. Bast. Dear mother of Richard Bast (Joyce) of Stroud and Susan Plomske (Gary) of London; loving grandmother of Randy Bast (Melissa) of Tennessee, Laurie Cumming (Eric) of Oro township, Lynda Hughes (Mark) of London, Tracey Gallacher (Gary) of London, Sheri Plomske (Rob) of London and Stephen Plomske of London; great- grandmother of seven great-grandchildren; sister of Jim Berner (Pat) and Howard Berner (Betty), both of Kitchener. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Chapel, 303 River side Dr., London, on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated and may be made through London Cremation Ser vices, 519-672-0459.

MUKHERJEE, Surjo

MUKHERJEE, Surjo - Died peacefully, at home, after a courageous fight with cancer, on Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at the age of 27 years. Surjo went in Jesus' arms to a place prepared for him, where there is no more pain or tears. At home with God he is now, where one day we will meet him again. He is greatly missed by us all, his parents, Nani (Ben) and Maria Mukherjee; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, both in India and Holland and his many friends all over the world. Surjo means "SUN" and he truly was our sunshine. He was a member of Hazelglen Alliance Church and a former student of Rockway Collegiate, Cameron Heights Collegiate and Sandford Fleming College, where he studied Business and International Trade. The Mukherjee family will receive friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467) today (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. The funeral service for Surjo will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 11 a.m. Private family committal service at Williamsburg Cemetery. A reception will be held in the funeral home immediately follow ing the services. Donations to Hopespring Cancer Support Centre would be appreciated by the family. EMMS, L. Jean - Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at her home, 247 Franklin St. Kitchener. Jean was born in Hastings, 91 years ago, daughter of the late Corey Valleau and the late Elsie Brown. Beloved mother of Mary Colin of Waterloo, Barbara and Daniel Norris and Noreen Chandler, both of Winnipeg; dear sister of William Valleau of Burlington, Marjorie Stressman of Toronto, Aileen Graham of Newmarket and Nora Valleau of Kingston. Lovingly remembered by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon George Emms in 1993. Cremation, with interment of cremated remains in Vallyview Cemetery, New Liskeard. Memorials to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be placed through the Futher Bros. Funeral Home in Wellesley (656-2880).

MAYNE, Katherine Faye - Passed away, at McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton on Thursday, October 18, 2001. Beloved baby daughter of John and Melita Mayne of Guelph. Dear sister of Christine Mayne and James Mayne, both of Guelph. Cherished grand daughter of Thomas Mayne of Guelph and Felimon and Leonora Recto of San Pablo City, Philippines. Great- granddaughter of Helen Airhart of Stratford. Dear niece of Lorieta and Elmo Calalo, Marceng Poncia, Santos and Jennifer Recto, Carmen Recto, all of San Pablo City, Philippines, Lucila and Graham Lance of Australia and Mark and Kathleen Reid of Guelph. She will be sadly missed by many cousins. Funeral service will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Monday, October 22 at 11 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Neo-Natal Unit of Chedoke-McMaster Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Though she was only with us for a short time, she will be in our hearts forever.

Loved mother of Elizabeth and husband Rick Leader of RR 1, Wingham, John G. (Jay) Lane and wife Barbara of Calgary, Alberta and Andrew R. Lane and wife Penny of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dear sister of Jean and husband Jack Watson of London, Watson Armstrong and wife Kirsten of Teeswater and sister-in-law of Joan Jacques and husband Earl of St. Thomas. Also survived by her ex tended family: Ken and Pat McIlroy of Stratford, Don and Joanne McIlroy of Kitchener, Brian and Karon McIlroy of Gowanstown and Ivan and Karen McIlroy of RR 1, Gowanstown; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband, John A. Lane; one brother, Don and her parents, Cormack and Janet (Watson) Armstrong. JOHNSTONE, Janet May (nee Millson) - On Sunday, October 14, 2001, at St. Mary's General Hospital, follow ing a lengthy illness, Jan passed away peacefully. Survived by her beloved companion of 19 years, Claudette Nobert, of Kitchener; her loving parents, Morley and Bernice Millson; brother, Ross Millson, all of Guelph and niece, Krystal Millson of Toronto. Jan will be sadly missed by all her friends. At Jan's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held from the chapel of Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Saturday, October 20, 2001 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Anne Roth and her husband Jason of Brampton, Keith Stalker and Nancy of Kitchener and Mandy Kahlmeier of Calgary, Alta.; cherished great-grandmother of Alex and Joel Roth. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph one year ago; her parents, Jacob and Zina Schiebel; two brothers, Howard and Nelson Schiebel and two sisters, Kathleen Steffler and Marie Sales.
