Bonnie Traynor

Bonnie Elizabeth Traynor, age 61, of Stratford passed away suddenly at home with her husband by her side on December 10, 2012. Beloved wife for 35 years of Gerard (Gerry) Traynor. Loving mother of Tanya Doell (Jeremy) and grandmother to Haley and Cody. Loving mother of Amanda Traynor (Jeffrey Propper) and grandmother to Darrien, Xavier, Logan, Evander and Amelia. Step mother of Michelle Gibson (Mickey) and grandmother to Payton, Shaneika and Colton. Step mother of Christopher Traynor (Jessica) and grandmother to Nolan and Alyssa. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents William and Viola Hawkins. Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, December 14th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Choices for Change through the funeral home.

Jack Douglas

Jack Duncan Douglas, age 89, of Stratford passed away on Wednesday December 12, 2012. Born in Stratford, son of the late Fred and Mary Douglas. Jack was a Navy veteran in WW II stationed in Halifax. He worked at Kroehler's and Flexsteel for many years until his retirement. He always enjoyed many summers at the trailer in Goderich. Survived by loving son Kerry Douglas of Stratford and a daughter-in-law Sheila Douglas of Woodstock. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer and Nicole. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by son Michael (Mickey) Douglas in 2009 and infant son Johnny Douglas. Jack was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by six siblings.
Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford on Sunday December 16th from 1-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday December 17th at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Rev. Fr. Dick Bester will officiate. (A Legion service will be held on Sunday at 12:45 p.m.) As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Hemophilia Society through the funeral home. 519-271-7411.

Ruby Brickman

Ruby Irene Brickman (Wilhelm), age 84, passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place, Stratford with family by her side on December 13, 2012. Born at home in East Zorra, Tavistock, February 17, 1928, daughter of the late Aaron Wilhelm and Mary Kenyon.
Ruby worked at the shirt factory and K-Mart in Stratford. She was a former member of Lingelbach Church. Predeceased by husband Carl Andrew Brickman (1992). Loving mother of Julie Culver (Mark), Port Dover and Robert Brickman (Marilyn) of Avonton. She will be missed by her grandchildren Andy, Reeanna and Matthew Brickman. Dear sister of Lillian Hausfchild, Eldon (Doreen) Wilhelm, Russell (Anne) Wilhelm, Verna (Wray) Roth and Gordon Wilhelm. Also survived by brothers in law and sisters in law Lila Wilhelm, Allen Blane, Merle Brickman, Glen and Audrey Brickman, Dan and Joan Brickman, Shirley and Roy Feltz and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Ivan and Elsie Wilhelm, Lester and Myrtle Wilhelm, Milton Hausfchild, Robert Wilhelm, Hazel Blane, Jean Wilhelm as well as brothers in law and sisters in law Clarence and Martha Brickman, Almeda and Delmar Smythe, Mildred and Harry Yungblut and Cecil Brickman. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday December 16th from 1-4 p.m. and on Monday December 17th from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Rev. Catherine Calkin officiating. Interment in Lingelbach Cemetery. Werner Van Wasen

Werner Van Wasen, age 80, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Friday December 14, 2012. Werner was born in Germany on January 1, 1932. Beloved husband of Gudrun. Loving father of two daughters Susi and Karen both of Sault Ste. Marie. Survived by step-son Paul. Lovingly remembered by three grandchildren. Dear brother of Marianne Meister of Sault Ste. Marie and Gunter Van Wasen of Germany. Sadly missed by friends Bill and Dorien Murray of Stratford. A special thank you to Dr. Heisz and the nursing staff at the Stratford General Hospital Palliative Care for their kindness and support.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation to celebrate Werner's life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital through the W. G. Young funeral home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. 519-271-7411.

Ann Eggert

Carol Ann Eggert, age 67, of Rostock passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Stratford General Hospital on December 16, 2012. Ann was predeceased by her husband Murray Eggert April 25, 2005. Beloved daughter of Ada Gropp of Milverton and the late Carl Gropp. Loving mother of Jason (Heather), Stratford and Julie Eggert. Atlanta, GA. Grandmother of Tyler and special grandmother to Gibson and Meredith MacMillan. Special partner of Glen Shackleton. Dear sister of Joyce Riddell (Murray) and Dennis Gropp (Tammy). Also survived by a sister-in-law Lois Zurell and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother-in-law Wayne Zurell. Ann worked as a nurse at the Stratford General Hospital for 35 years until her retirement in 2011. Ann enjoyed her medical missions trips, was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford on Wednesday, December 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Central United Church, 194 Avondale Avenue, Stratford on Thursday, December 20th at 2 p.m. Rev. Kathi Urbasik Hindley will officiate. Interment in Zion United Cemetery, Rostock. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rostock Athletic Association, the Stratford General Hospital or the charity of one's choice through the funeral home.

Audrey Cole

Audrey Cole, age 90, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on December 17, 2012. Audrey was born in Downie Township, daughter of the late David and Vennetta Schellenberger. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Cole who predeceased her December 9, 2000. Loving mother of James Cole (Brenda), Diane Shaw and Patricia Robinson. Grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Lois Easum and Joyce Hunt. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fred Cole (Sadie), Harold Cole (Alberta), Ethel Davis, Violet Cook (Ralph) and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a daughter Lori Curzon, a grandson Jason Curzon, sons-in-law Ronald Shaw and Douglas Robinson, brothers Harry, Earl, Leo and Donald Schellenberger and a sister Jean Wilker. Audrey was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, December 20, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Rev. Douglas Reble will officiate. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association through the funeral home.

Vince Harris

Vincent Paul Harris, age 65, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on December 18, 2012. Predeceased by his wife Sharon (Widdicombe) May 31, 2012. Cremation will take place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford.

Barb Young

Barbara Grace Young, age 52, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on December 19, 2012. Beloved wife of Dan Young and will be missed by her dog Coco. Loving sister of John McCauley (Linda), Bev Murray (Ken), Bob McCauley (Bev), Gerry McCauley (Gladys) and Bill McCauley (Linda). Also survived by a brother-in-law Jim Young (Janet) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Connie (Copeland) McCauley. Barb had worked as Manager of Athletics at Conestoga College from 1981 to 1996. She later was Manager of the Goodwill Store in Stratford and the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in London. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, December 21, from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 22, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Braz for the Cause through the funeral home.

Janice Rowe

Janice Elizabeth Rowe, age 60, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday December 20, 2012.
Born in Toronto, daughter of the late James and Mildred (Davies) McLean.
Beloved mother of Jean Knetsch and husband Richard Bilson, Waterloo and the late Jami Rowe (April 13, 2012). Dear sister of Rob McLean (Dale), Waterdown. Also survived by step-mother Lillian McLean, Burlington, step sisters Brenda McMaster (Jim), Burlington and Jan Quinn (John), Waterdown.
Predeceased by aunt Jean McKimmie.
A memorial service will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Sunday December 23rd at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
