BUTCHER, John Lennox, of Guelph, passed away, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph, Monday, February 12, 2001, in his 87th year. Loving husband of Estelle and the late Kay Symons. Beloved father of Grant Butcher of Brampton and Merilyn (Gary) Dunkley of Inglewood. Loved grandfather of Tim, Laura, Joanne, and Marny. Great grandfather of Emily and Spencer. Len shared his artistic ability with churches, the Federation of Ontario Naturalists, and the Waterloo Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday (2-4 & 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Thursday, February 15, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Chapman officiating. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre). Cremation. Robinson, Eleanor

ROBINSON, Eleanor - (known worldwide for her cross-stitch art work), passed away, peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital, Sunday, February 11, 2001, in her 79th year. Loved mother of Joan and husband Jack Ford of Drayton, Bonnie and husband Bob Colville of Fergus, Dori and husband Phil Steele of Fergus, and David Robinson and wife Janet of Breslau. She will be sadly missed by her thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Jessie, Mona, Doris, Elsie, Roberta, Jo, and Marlene. Predeceased by her husband Lorne (1977), daughters Donelda (1974) and Sandra (1948), granddaughter Sandra (1982), an infant great grandson Robert (1988), and a sister Isobel (1999). Friends will be received at the WALL- CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Tuesday (2-4 & 7- 9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at 11 a.m., with Major Wayne Hong officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. Speers, James A.

SPEERS, James Alvin, passed away, at University Hospital, London, Monday, February 12, 2001, in his 59th year. (Retired after 35 years of teaching Special Education programs in the Provincial Training Schools and in elementary schools with the Wellington County Board of Education). Dear son of Gertrude Speers of Guelph and the late Alex T. Speers (1980). Brother to Archie (Donna) Speers and Marlene (Bill) Kostal both of Guelph and Edith (Alex) Steven of Stoney Creek. Foster brother to Ray (Dawn) Murphy of Thunder Bay. Beloved uncle of Sandy, Peter, Jeffrey, and David Speers, Stephanie and Leslie Kostal, and Tolton and Tarin Murphy. Great uncle of Jenny, Eryn, Zoe, Troy, Tom, and Dustin. "I consider myself, most fortunate for being part of a family whose members are warm, caring and all of whom possess a good sense of humour; who enjoy life and the company of each other; and who have strong family values and bondship. I give my love to all and pray that we may meet again in some other life. I have been truly blessed by knowing you. I strongly believe that upon my death my soul, the essence of my being, will leave my body and watch over it until it is returned to the earth" - James Speers.
