Margaret “Marg” Petrie
1938 - 2007

Margaret “Marg” Petrie – of Wiarton, peacefully with family and friends by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, December 7th, 2007. The former Margaret Ezekiel at the age of 69 years. Loving mother to Betty O’Leary, of Wiarton. Beloved sister to Betty O’Leary (John), John Ezekiel (Kathleen), Fred Ezekiel (Marilyn), and Neil Ezekiel (Linda), all of Newfoundland, and Christine Newberry (James), of Elora. Sadly missed by special niece Patrina Haldane (nee Ezekiel), her many neices, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth Ezekiel; an infant son Cornelius Thomas O’Leary; a nephew Johnny Ezekiel; a niece Christine McDonald; and a brother Patrick Ezekiel. Marg is known as a wonderful cook, mother, sister, aunt and avid bingo enthusiast. At Marg’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation with interment of ashes in Newfoundland. As an expression of sympathy, Marg wishes donations be made to Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living. Kathleen Armour - of Owen Sound peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Thursday December 13th, 2007. The former Kathleen Bridge Williams in her 84th year. Vivian Babcock – of Cape Croker, peacefully with her loving family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, December 8th, 2007. The former Vivian Elliott at the age of 48 years. Loving wife and best friend of Dennis for more than 10 years. Much loved mother of Wawaskones Murrell, and Nungones Mao and her husband Darren, all of Toronto. Treasured grandma of Daunis Mao, Dre Mao and Ocean Elliott. Cherished sister of Victoria Bostic and her husband Ralph, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; and Veronica Smith, of Cape Croker. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her parents Merle Smith and Eulah Elliott. Family invite friends to visit with them at the Cape Croker Community Centre on Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Vivian’s life will be conducted from the Cape Croker Community Centre on Wednesday, December 12th, 2007 at 11 o’clock. Heinrich “Hank” Sawatzky
1941 - 2007

Heinrich “Hank” Sawatzky - of RR#4 Wiarton, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 26th, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband and best friend of the former Emma Jean Sayeau. Cherished father of Al and his partner Rhonda Keeso and daughters Cailyn and Lauryn, of Collingwood; Ken and his partner Jan Cameron and daughter Lyric, and Rob, all of Wiarton. Dear brother of Ben (late Betty), and Susie (Stan Arrowsmith), both of Winnipeg; Agatha (Abe Wolfe), of Tourond, MN; and Mary (Don Anderson), of Vancouver, BC. Sadly missed by brothers-in-law Al Wastle; Jake Loeppky; Pat Sayeau (Shirley); Jim Sayeau (Louise); and Steve “Tub” Sayeau (Lorna); and his nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Bernhard and Agatha; his infant daughter Tammy Lynn; and sisters Lena, Anna, and Nettie. Hank’s family invite friends to join with them for visitation at the Thomas C. Frederick John
1954 - 2007

Frederick John - of Saugeen First Nation, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 24th, 2007 at the age of 53 years. Frederick was the much-loved father of Samantha Keysis (partner Kevin Corbiere), of Hamilton; Stacy Keysis, of Toronto; Sean Keysis and his wife Tara, of Hoggansburg, NY; and Jennifer Keysis (partner Eli Toulouse), of Sagamok, ON. Special grandpa of Brandon, Xavier, Logan, Kiana, Reign, Diondre, Jayla, Martin and Bailey. Caring brother of Larry, Gene, and Rita, all of Saugeen First Nation. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, and many friends. Fred is predeceased by his parents Olive and Amy Kewageshig; brothers Wilbert and Carson "C.J."; sisters Rosemary Lavalley, Gretta Foster, and Florence Johnson; and nephews Elroy and Amariah. Family invite friends to join with them for visitation at the French Bay Baptist Church, Saugeen First Nation on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Fred's life will be conducted from the James Mason Recreation Centre on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11 o'clock. Much loved father of Shannon Johnston, of Cape Croker; and cherished grandfather to little Lorna-Shaye. Brother of Gail Johnston (Reg), of Toronto; Ernestine Proulx, and Basil Johnston, both of Cape Croker; Diane Hamlyn, Keith Johnston, and Janet Omistek (Ron), all of Niagara Falls, New York; and Marylin Corbier, of Honey Harbour. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Mary; brothers, Elgin “Smokey”, and Gene; and by sisters Gladys and Eileen. Wayne will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Family invite friends to visit with them at the Maadookii Centre, Cape Croker on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be conducted from the Cape Croker Community Centre on Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 11 o’clock. Gordon W. Harwood, OLS, CLS – of Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Saturday, November 17th, 2007. Gordon Walter Harwood in his 72nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of the former Betty Wilson for 42 years. Cherished father of Barbara West-Bartley and her husband Bill Bartley, of Wiarton; Linda and her partner Barry Wismer, of Port Elgin; and Douglas Gould, of Calgary. Treasured grandfather of Graham Gould; Rhonda (Mike St. Laurent); Melissa Bartley (and friend Simon Culyer); Kevin West; Drew West; Isaac Wismer; Anne Wismer, and Ian Wismer. Brother of Roy Harwood, of Sauble Beach; and brother-in-law of Roy Wilson (Harriett), and Nancy Schurman (late Ron). Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Lil; brothers Jim and Ken; a sister Jean; and sisters-in-law Lois, Elaine and Elsie; and a brother-in-law Russ. Gord will be remembered as a man of devotion and dedication. His love of family and his community is known near and far; belonging to the Grey-Bruce Motorcycle Club, Wiarton Legion, and the Wiarton and District Lions Club (35 years). Gord had just recently become a Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest honour that Lions International can bestow. Family will receive friends at the Thomas C. 1936 - 2007

Hilliard “Neebish” Besito - Of Saugeen First Nation at the Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound, on Friday, November 16th, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Hilliard “Neebish” Besito was called home by the Great Spirit G'Shamindo. Much loved son of the late Dora (Akenzie) and Ivan Besito, and James and Helen Mason of Saugeen First Nation. Traditionally raised son of the late Isaac and Winnifred Petonoquot. Predeceased by brothers Fredrick Besito, Matthew Mason, Maitland Petonoquot; sister Leona Lawrence; and Aunts Flora Ritchie and Elizabeth Akenzie. Survived by his loved foster children Dale Bricker, Stacey and William Wesley. Dear brother of Shirley Elliott (Melvin), Marie Mason, Gary Mason, Gayle Stark (Bruce), Theodore Mason, (Joanne), Phillip (Janice), Allan (Bonnie) and Elwood Mason. Traditional Uncle of Barbara Charlebois, June King, Joanne Mason, Leslie Petonoquot (Jr.), Gene Petonoquot, Carey Petonoquot and Paul King. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and associates of the bingo crowd. Family invite friends to gather for visitation at the Thomas C. 1922 - 2007

Sadie Hewitt – of RR#6 Wiarton, peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, November 14th, 2007. The former Sadie Graham Woodfield in her 86th year. Loving wife of George. Cherished mother of Charles and his wife Veronica of Nanaimo, BC, and Susan “Sue” and her husband Marcel Simard, of RR#6 Wiarton. Fondly remembered by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Sarah, and one brother. In accordance with Sadie’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Janet Willimot
1933 - 2007

Janet Willimot passed away peacefully at Wiarton Hospital on Sunday November 4th, 2007 with family by her side. Born in Waterloo on July 14th 1933, Janet was the daughter of the late Eugene Helm & Matilda Stemmler. Janet was the beloved wife of Jack Willimot for 43 years & much loved mother of Michel-John and wife Brandi. Special Grandmother to Gabe & Tilly. She is survived by one brother, Bernard Helm & wife Doris, of Kitchener; sisters-in-law Anna Helm, of California; Vera Helm, of Bancroft; & Ruth Dawdry, of Chatham; & brothers-in-law Jim Bridgen & Earl Willimot, both of Chatham. Also survived by nieces & nephews Patti & Tyrone Heiman; Gary & Don Helm; Melanie LaFlamme; Christine Braun; Danny & Candice Helm; Jeff & Dennis Nolan, Debbie Steadman; Eugene Helm; Charlotte Matthews; Sandra Tollison; Susan Nolan; Tim & Denise Helm; Bob, Lu-Ann, & Tim Bridgen; & Allan Willimot. Predeceased by sisters Anna May Gubka & husband Rudy, Audrey Nolan & husband Roy; sister-in-law Mary Lou Bridgen; and nephew Richard Helm. Janet spent most of her life in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, but because of her love of the water view & cottage Jack & Jan decided to retire in the Wiarton area in 1999. Janet's strength endured many medical conditions over the years, but her courageous battle ended with lung cancer. Janet’s family invite relatives and friends to join with them at the Thomas C. Lelynn “Lee” Jones - of Cape Croker, suddenly at his residence on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007. Lelynn David Norman Jones was in his 43rd year. Cherished son of Wilma Jones (Wabigwan), of Orillia, and Norman Jones, of Lion’s Head. Much loved brother of Timothy Jones, of Cape Croker, and John Jones and his wife Tracey, of London.
