Len McLeod
1928 - 2007

McLeod, Leonard “Len” – of Sauble Beach, suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, September 5th, 2007. Leonard Paul McLeod in his 80th year. Loving former husband of Pat McLeod. Cherished father of Mark and his friend Gabrielle Stein, of Barrie; Colleen and her husband Gerald Perkin, of Dorchester; Collin, and Elan, both of London. Proud grandfather of Lindsey Smith (Matthew), Kasey McLeod, Trevor Perkin, Michael Perkin, and Patrick McLeod; and great-grandfather of Jake Smith. Sadly missed by Dan Jeffries, Carol Bannerman, and all his friends at the Sauble River Family Camp. Predeceased by his brother Joe, and sisters Rose and Alice. Len served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces within the Air Force, and was a proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208, Wiarton. At Len’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Sunshine Foundation would be greatly appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. An Oak tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow in memory of Len by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

Allen Tindall
1938 - 2007

Tindall, Allen - of Wiarton, passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, August 15th, 2007. Allen Charles Tindall in his 70th year. Loving husband and best friend of Rowena (nee Abbott) for 47 years. Brother of Bob and his wife Alexia, of Lucan, and Audrey McFalls and her late husband Ross, of Centralia. Brother-in-law of Art Abbott and his wife Marion, of Exeter. Sadly missed by his many loving nieces, nephews and many close friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Annie. Retired owner of Tindall’s Shoe Store, serving Wiarton for 35 years. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A service celebrating Allen’s life will be conducted from the chapel on Saturday August 18th, 2007 at 11 o'clock. Rev. Ed Laksmanis officiating. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Friends of Gateway or Breast Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated. In living memory of Allen, a Red Maple tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow during the service by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

George Hewson
1923 - 2007

Hewson, George Veteran of WWII – of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, August 9th, 2007. George Carruthers Hewson at the age of 84 years. Loving husband and best friend of 35 years to Dorie Ridley. Cherished father of Lyn and her husband Russ Lunsted, of Richmond Hill; John and his wife Carol, of Mississauga; Brian and his wife Barb, of Acton; Kathy and her husband Paul Nichol, of Lindsay; Mark and his wife Melanie, of Georgetown; and Jocelyn and her husband Harold Hunt, of Vancouver. Devoted grandfather of Rebecca, Tyler, Sierra, Hannah, Laura, Ted, Emily, Sarah, Connor, Sheldon and Amelia. Sadly missed by his good friend Steve Ridley. Predeceased by his sister Phyllis. In keeping with George’s wishes there will be a private family service on Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Farrow, Michael “Mike” – of Wiarton, with his friends and family at his side on Monday, August 6th, 2007. Michael Kenneth Hugh Farrow of Wiarton in his 53rd year. Much loved brother of Evelyn (Richard Neily), of Kars, Ontario; Carol (Tom Beckett), of Hepworth; and Dave (Kathy Balls), of Wiarton. Caring uncle of Claire, Vanessa, Jennifer (Robert Mouillierat), Sean Coyne (Bobbi), Virginia and Ryan; and great-uncle of Kate-Lynn, Jordan and Maddison. Sadly missed by his aunt, cousins and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Ken (2002) and Betty (2007). At Mike’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. Jones, Jean – of Berford Lake, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, August 3rd, 2007. The former Jean Gaines in her 66th year. Dear wife and best friend of Bob for 49 years. Loving mother of Chris and her husband Joe Bette, of Owen Sound; Brian and his wife Linda, of Coe Hill; Bob and his partner Heather, of Sarnia; and Bill and his wife Kristine, of Guelph. Forever loved by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sisters Carol and her husband Ernie Roberts, Joy and her husband Ron Luxton, and Nancy and her husband Bill Williams; and sisters-in-law Lorraine and her husband Dave Trick, Eleanor McCutcheon, Joy Clough (and friend Louie), and Bonnie and her husband Doug Smith. 1921 - 2007

Hopkins, Thomas “Tom” Veteran of WWII - of Tobermory, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound with Aunderia at his side. Thomas Alexander Edward Hopkins in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Smith). Loving father of Aunderia and her husband Ken Boyd, of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer and her husband Todd Sutherland, of Kitchener, and Sara and her husband Josh Merwin, of Tonawanda, New York. Great-grandfather of Kayla, Benjamin, and Abigail. Dear brother of Pearl and her husband Bert Hopkins, of Tobermory. Sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Zarnke, Albert Smith and his wife Gloria, Mardy and her husband Andy Anderson, and Lola Craigie; nieces; nephews; and many friends. Predeceased by his brother Cliff Craigie, and sister Elsie Zarnke. Sgt. Thomas A.E. Hopkins served with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada from 1940 to 1946. He fought in Normandy and landed in France on D-Day. He was proud to be a Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 290 Tobermory. Friends may call at the Tobermory United Church on Sunday July 15, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where a service to celebrate the life of Tom Hopkins will be held Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Interment in Dunk’s Bay Cemetery. Cherished mother of Karen and her husband Jack MacKinnon, of Yellowknife; Kathy and her husband Dave Wilson of Sauble Beach; Gwen Gilbert and her friend Ernie Farrow, of Wiarton; Marilyn and her husband Garth Campbell, of RR#1 Hepworth; Keith and his wife Dianne, of Wiarton; Brent and his wife Wanda, of RR#4 Wiarton; Vern and his wife Diane, of RR#4 Markdale; Vic and his wife Brenda, of Wiarton; and Melanie and her husband Graham Craig, of Belfast Northern Ireland. Loving mother of Tricia Young and her friend Trevor, of Whitecourt, Alberta; and Aaron King and his friend Sandra Ives, of Wiarton. Cherished daughter of Ernie and Lil Nadjiwan, of Cape Croker. Beloved sister of Brenda Nadjiwan (Dave Towndrow), of Newmarket; Shelley Cornelius (James), of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Paul Nadjiwan (Judy), of Cape Croker; Michael Nadjiwan (Gloria), of Stittsville; and Tim Nadjiwan, of Nepean. Kim will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Loving mother of Gwen and her husband Larry Hambly, of Clavering; Doug and his wife Jennifer, of Wiarton; and Barb and her husband Neil Bowman, of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Peter Hambly (Marjorie), Mary-Lynne Zeinstra (Maurice), Cathy Pennington (Mark), David Pruder, Michael Pruder, and Brandon Bowman; and great-grandmother of Meagan, Emma, Nicholas, Warren, Nathan, Jamie, Christopher, and Ethan. Caring sister of Ralph Beacock (Ada), of Wiarton; Evelyn Beacock, of Toronto; Mary Aiken (John), of Markham; Wes Beacock (Shirley), of Wiarton; Bernice Beacock, of Toronto; Marjorie Walser, of Elora; and Mike Beacock (Evelyn), of Forrest. Cherished grandmother of Mickey Waukey, Michael James Chegahno, Charles Pedoniquott, Jeremy McCoy, Kim Sullivan, Margaret Barr, Crystal Zhang; and great-grandmother of Kerri Ann Chegahno, Jordan James Chegahno, Kevin Mullett, Chase Mullett, Logan McCoy, Jackie Sullivan, Bailey Waukey-Greer, and Paige Waukey-Greer. Sadly missed by her brother Walter Chegahno; and extended family Rena Pedoniquott, Byron Beamish, John Zhang, Caroline Zhou; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
