Don Greenlees
1922 - 2009

Greenlees, Don - of Owen Sound and formerly of Oliphant, at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009. Donald Bruce Greenlees in his 88th year. Loving husband of the former Joyce Williamson. Cherished father of Richard Greenlees, of Port Elgin; and step-father of Terry (Lori) Hill, of B.C., Rick (Tina) Hill and Peter (Janis) Hill, both of Wiarton, and Rebecca Austin (Brian), of California. Don was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his may nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret; and his sister Margarite. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 from 1 - 2 pm, where a service to celebrate Don's life will be conducted in the chapel at 2 o'clock. Interment in Balsam Grove cemetery , Oliphant. Donations to the Wiarton or Owen Sound Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Glen Wilkinson
1936 - 2009

Wilkinson, Glen Nelson - of Sauble Beach. Sadly the family announces the sudden passing of Glen on Tuesday October 20th, 2009 at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound. Loving Husband and Best Friend to wife Lorraine (nee Schnurr) for over 52 years. Loving and devoted father to Theresa (Don) Poulin, of Orillia, and Darren Wilkinson (friend Shirley), of Hepworth. Cherished Poppa to Brandon, of Orillia. Sadly missed by sister-in-law Mildred (Larry) Hewitt, Muriel (late Doug) Sprung, and Brenda Copp; brother-in-law John (Bonnie) Schnurr; many nieces and nephews; and his pal "Buddy". Predeceased by his parents Albert and Lila; brothers John, Wilfred, Harold (late wife Marilyn); and sister Edna Stead (late husband Harold). A private family service to celebrate Glen's life will be conducted from the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Friday, October 23rd, 2009. At Glen's request, there will be no visitation. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Lung Association would be appreciated. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery , Hepworth.

Denelda Smith
1921 - 2009

Smith, Denelda - of Tobermory, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Monday, October 19th, 2009. The former Bertha Denelda McFarlane in her 88th year. Devoted mother of Nancy Hooey (late Joe), Helen Addison (Norman), Don Smith (friend Pat Davis), David Smith (Sue), Doug Smith (Marie), Heather Munn (Randy), all of Tobermory; and special mum of Michelle Haynes, of Meaford. Cherished grandmother of 14; great-grandmother of 21; and great-great-grandmother of 2. Beloved sister of Marj Bartley, of Owen Sound; and sister-in-law of Shirley McFarlane, of Tobermory. Denelda will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Lyle (1978); her brothers Denard, Lorance and Claude; and her sister Jean Robbins. The family invite friends to call at the Tobermory United Church on Wednesday, October 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where a celebration of life service will be held on Thursday at 1 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stokes Bay Presbyterian Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Gloria Wyonch
1935 - 2009

Wyonch, Gloria - of Tobermory, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Tuesday, October 13th, 2009. The former Gloria Mae Guess in her 75th year. Proud mother of Ernie and his wife Vivian, Danny, and Andy, all of Tobermory, Mike and his wife Sandy, of St. Catharines, and Bradley, of Tobermory. Devoted grandmother of Kelly, Leah, Alison, Grant, and Caleb; and great-grandmother of Drew and Reece. Predeceased by Levi Wyonch (2005), her husband of 52 years; a son, Charles (2005); two great-grandchildren, Claire and Jacob; and two sisters. In accordance with Gloria's wishes, there will be no visitation. Family invite friends to gather with them at Dunk's Bay cemetery , Tobermory on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at 2 o'clock for a graveside service to celebrate Gloria's life. Cremation has taken place. A reception will follow. Donations to the Lion's Head Hospital would be appreciated. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341.

Helen Stewart
1918 - 2009

Stewart, Helen Veteran of WWII - of Wiarton and formerly of Etobicoke, peacefully at Gateway Haven in Wiarton on Monday, October 12th, 2009. The former Nellie Helen Schofield in her 92nd year. Loving wife of the late Robert C. "Bob" Stewart (1997). Cherished mother of Barbara Stewart, of Elliott Lake. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, especially Malcolm and Joan Brindle, of Sauble Beach; and their children Barbara Brindle, Martyn and his wife Cherry, and Bryan and his wife Lisa, all of Barrie. Predeceased by her sisters Elsie and Anne. During WWII Helen served with the RAF as a Wireless Operator. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 from 12 - 1 pm, where a service to celebrate Helen's life will be conducted at 1 o'clock. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Br. #208 Wiarton will gather for a memorial service at 12:45 pm. Cremation to follow. Donations to RCL Br. #208 Poppy Fund would be appreciated.

Roy Ransom
1936 - 2009

Ransom, Roy - of Wiarton, peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 10th, 2009. Roy Alexander Stephen Ransom in his 73rd year. Loving husband of the former Marleen Braun and the late Betty Evers (1989). Loving father of Paul, of Owen Sound, Terry and his wife Glenna, of Tara, Richard and his wife Karen, of Allenford, and Julie and her husband George Fraser, of Owen Sound; and step-father of Jeffrey Morrison and his friend Ingrid Gillies, of London, and Lisa Schnurr and her husband Steven, of Owen Sound. Grandfather of Jennifer Ransom (partner Paul Galbraith), Ashley Ransom, Jacqueline McCartney (Tom), Steven Ransom, Bryan Fraser (partner Jennifer Westholm), Michelle Fraser (Matt Priebe), Sara Morrison (partner Gerald McLeod), and Robert Morrison; and great-grandfather of Lilian and William Galbraith. Brother of Betty Johnston (John), of Markdale; Sheila Bird, of BC; Phyllis Fisher (Bryan), of Peterborough; Maxine Love (friend Greg Dawson), of Wasaga Beach; and Karen Eckel (Fred), of Kitchener; and brother-in-law of Allan Braun (Anita), of Clifford. Sadly missed by his mother-in-law Katie Braun; nieces; nephews; and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Rita Ransom. Friends are invited to gather with the family for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A service to celebrate Roy's life will be conducted from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Wiarton on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Cremation with interment in Hillcrest cemetery , Tara. Donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to Heart and Stroke would be appreciated.

Pat Durance
1919 - 2009

Durance, Ruby "Pat" passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Gateway Haven, Wiarton on Tuesday Dec. 1st, 2009 at 90 years of age. Sadly missed by her loving partner Lorne Hepburn. Predeceased by her husband Jason Durance and sons John and Jason. Mother of Carolyne (Bob) Forbes, Torn (Brenda) Durance, Cathy (Charlie) Houser, and Doris (Harold) Fleming; and mother-in-law of Sue Durance. Pat is forever remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Pat's family invite friend to gather with them for a graveside service at Dunk's Bay cemetery , Tobermory on Friday, December 4th at 11:00 am. Following the interment, friends are also invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Wiarton Legion BR. 208. Nicoll, Donald "Don" - peacefully at his Clavering residence on Sunday, November 29th, 2009. Donald Alexander Nicoll at the age of 76 years. Loving husband and best friend for 53 years to the former Rosemarie Louise Loney. Devoted father of Jim and his wife Karen Willis, and Mark and his wife Stephanie McMullen, both of Owen Sound; Lloyd and his wife Kelly, of Thornbury; Tim, of Calgary, Alberta; and Andy and his wife Julie, of Port Elgin. Cherished grandfather of Emerson, Ryan, Caroline, Clare, Jane, Ella, Jamie, Henry, Liam, and Teigan. Sadly missed by his sisters, Maggie (Harry Green), of Nova Scotia, and Julie Ann Nicoll, of Alberta; brother-in-law Lloyd Loney (Jen), of Oliphant; and his many nieces, nephews and close friends. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Frances (nee Swayze). In keeping with Don's wishes there will be no visitation. A service to celebrate Don's life will be conducted at a later date. Coddington, Judy - of Sauble Beach, suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, November 25th, 2009. The former Judy Arlene Gorman at the age of 50 years. Loving wife and best friend of Brad. Devoted mother of Natalie Lamb, of Owen Sound, Melanie Lamb and Jamie Lamb (friend Kristin), all of Guelph. Cherished Gramma to Benjamin and Jerry. Judy will be sadly missed by her sister Kathryn Gorman-Lovelady (Brian), of Penetanguishine; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many good friends. Predeceased by her parents Gerald and Beulah Gorman; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Clifford and Audrey Coddington. Friends are invited to gather with the family to share memories during a time of visitation at the Thomas C. Schnurr, Ernest "Ernie" - of Hepworth suddenly at his home on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009. Ernest Richard Schnurr at the age of 88 years - Born May 22, 1921. Survived by a brother, Harold, of Thunder Bay; his step-children Lorraine Wilkinson (late Glen), Mildred (Larry) Hewitt, Muriel Sprung (late Doug), John (Bonnie) Schnurr, and Brenda Copp; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Muriel (2001); parents Lawrence and Mary Schnurr; brothers Joseph, George, Hartford, Lawrence, Edward and Chester; and sister Mary Albright. Family invite friends to join with them in sharing memories of Ernie at the Thomas C. Linklater, Helen - peacefully at Martindale Retirement Home, Milton on Friday, November 13th, 2009. The former Helen Emma Coulson, of Milton and formerly of Owen Sound. Loving wife of the late Harold Linklater who passed away on April 27th, 2008. Helen is survived by her children William Findlay (Gazelle), Donald Findlay (Teresa), Margaret Nickle (Gerald), and Helen Wray (Bert); her 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
