Tom Heathers
1947 - 2011

Heathers, Thomas Wesley - "Tom" - of Wiarton, suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Thomas Wesley Heathers at the age of 64 years. Fond brother of William, of Park Head; Donald, of Oxenden; Sharon (late John Turgeon), of Wiarton; Jim, of Meaford; and Norman, of Wiarton. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Tom will be remembered as a friendly face in Wiarton, who was always there to lend a helping hand. Predeceased by his parents William and Clara; and his sisters Bonnie and Grace. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will occur at Oxenden cemetery on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 2:30 PM. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341.

Jim McMullin
1943 - 2011

McMullin, John James "Jim" - of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday July 6th, 2011 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of the former Jean Schulze for 44 years. Loving father of Lisa McMullin, and the late Steven McMullin (1993). Devoted grandfather of Chyauna Francis. Jim will be sadly missed by his brother Norm and wife Jeanette of Erin; sister-in-law Marilyn and husband Tom Lawrason of Burlington and Elaine Bond of St. atharines; uncle and aunt George and Yvonne McMullin, of Harcourt and aunt Dorothy McMullin of Owen Sound (formerly of Orangeville); nieces and nephews Courtney (Mark Skinner), Taylor and Christopher McMullin, Amy (Peter Youngren), Natalie (Darrick Vanderwier), and Laura (Ryan Trinder); and many cousins. Predeceased by loving parents and in-laws Ivor and Lena McMullin of Caledon East, and Fred and Marjorie (Lawson) Schulze of Port Colborne. Jim grew up in Caledon East. He and Jean lived for 20 years in Durham, where he was President of the Kinsmen Club, then District Deputy Governor. Jim was very active in Minor and Senior A Hockey. In 1986, they moved to the family farm in Caledon East. Jim was employed by the Province of Ontario - Veterinary Services Branch for 30 years. Upon retiring, Jim began Caledon Woodcraft, a furniture business. Their next move was 6 years ago to Sauble Beach. Jim was a family man who enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and RVing. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be conducted from the Caledon East Community Complexon Thursday July 21st, 2011 at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment in Caledon East Public cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound, Caledon East United Church, or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Geneva Myles
1924 - 2011

Myles, Geneva - of Lion's Head, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head, on Friday, July 1, 2011. The former Geneva Mae Hogeboom at the age of 86 years. Loving wife of 50 years to the late Sherman Myles. Cherished mother of Gerry and his wife Cecile, of Lion's Head. Beloved grandma of Lindsay, Breanna and Megan. Sister of Isabelle Esch, Lois and her husband Frank Tozer, and Irene Shaw. Sadly missed by her brother-in-law John Schell; sister-in-law Grace Palmer; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her parents Russell and Annie; brother Harold Hogeboom; and sisters Alma Silver, Evelyn Brooks, Dorothy Hogeboom, Hazel Schell, and Marjorie Hogeboom. Geneva and Sherman shared ministry in many churches on the Bruce Peninsula and on CFOS radio with "Sunbeams of Blessing"; and together founded the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen's Home and the Haven of Rest Camp. Friends are invited to call at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lion's Head on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Geneva's life will be held at the Church on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, with visiting one hour prior. Interment in Eastnor cemetery. Donations to the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen's Home would be appreciated. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Ruth Hellyer
1957 - 2011

Hellyer, Ruth - of RR#2 Lion's Head, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. The former Ruth Charlene Ferguson at the age of 53 years. Loving wife and best friend of Ian for over 25 years. Cherished mother of Ashley, of Guelph and Jenelle, at home. Sister of Fraser Ferguson (Debbie), of London and Jill (Steve Hendry), of Newmarket; stepsister of Leigh Robertson, of London, and James Ferguson (partner Teresa), of Kitchener. Sister-in-law of Sandra Loomis (partner Gail Gilbert), of Chesley, and Jerry Hellyer (partner Mary Ellen Reid), of Lion's Head. Beloved daughter of Kendall Ferguson (partner Carol Kendrick), of Bayfield, and Phyllis (Don Robertson), of London; and daughter-in-law of Walter and Kathleen Hellyer. She was treasured by her nieces, nephews and many good friends; and is predeceased by one child lost at birth, and her sister-in-law Elaine Hellyer. Ruth will be remembered as a volunteer for the Cancer Society, and as a member of the Bruce Peninsula District School Community Council for 20 years. Friends are invited to call at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Rd., Lion's Head on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where a service to celebrate Ruth's life will be conducted on Saturday at 10 o'clock. Interment in Eastnor cemetery. Donations to the Bruce Peninsula District School, South Lake Regional Cancer Clinic, or Lion's Head Hospital would be appreciated. Ron Fletcher
1965 - 2011

Fletcher, Ronald "Ron" - of Guelph, suddenly at his residence on August 25, 2011. Ronald Shaw Fletcher at the age of 45 years. Loving son of Don and Marg Fletcher, of RR#6 Wiarton. Cherished brother of Dana and her husband Nik Trbovic, of Ayr. Sadly missed by his aunts and uncle; nephews Milan and Nathan; cousins and many friends. Predeceased by his grandparents Ron and Dorothy Fletcher, and George and Anna Schneikart. Ron received his Doctorate in Biochemistry, working as a Research Scientist at the University of Guelph. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held to celebrate Ron's life. Donations to the Wiarton Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Landry, Jeannette - of Sauble Beach, suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 5:25 AM. The former Jeannette Susan LaRose at the age of 56 years. Loving wife and best friend to Claude for 40 years. Devoted mother of Paul, and Mat and his partner Tinisha, all of Sauble Beach. Cherished sister of Anne (David Cox), of Tillsonburg; John LaRose, Lillian LaRose (late partner Ken), and Sharon LaRose, all of Toronto; and sister-in-law of Renata LaRose, Norman Landry (partner Denise Colley), Claudette (Randy O'Neil), Diane Landry (partner Frank), and Annette (partner Ken). Daughter of Robina and the late Al LaRose; and daughter-in-law of Rita and the late Alex Landry. Cremation has taken place. Jeannette's family invite everyone to gather with them to share memories, music and food on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 3 - 6 pm at the Thomas C. Bob Carson
1942 - 2011

Carson, Robert "Bob" It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert Scott Carson of Wiarton and formally of Toronto, at the age of 69. January 17, 1942 - August 13, 2011. Devoted husband and best friend of Catherine Carson Cherished father of Bill Carson and Tara Carson; father-in-law of Brian Eagles. A very special and much loved "Poppie" to Cassidy and Hannah. Brother of Christopher Carson and his wife Barbara; and brother-in-law of George Reynolds and his wife Lorna. Bob will be missed by his nieces and nephews along with close friends and family members, Miriam and Gary Garbutt, as well as many other loved cousins. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Jeanne Carson and his mother and father in-law, George and Helen Reynolds. Bob was a proud Metropolitan Toronto Police Officer for almost 28 years before bringing his family to Wiarton. He has owned and operated Wiarton Window and Door since 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, swimming with Cassidy and napping with Hannah. On Bob's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will take place at The Waterview Resort in Wiarton on Tuesday August 23 at 1:00 pm, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's great life. Memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Society would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Margaret Knight

Knight, Margaret - of Owen Sound and formerly of Red Bay at Central Place in Owen Sound on Saturday, August 13, 2011. The former Margaret Gourlay Frame in her 91st year. Survived by relatives, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her son Gary, and her husband Clifford. At Margaret's request there will be no visitation or service. Nuhn, Gregory "Greg" - of Red Bay, peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Southampton Care Centre, on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Gregory Alan Nuhn at the age of 39 years. Loving husband and best friend of the former Dawn Maria Bennett for almost 12 years. Devoted father of Cassidy and Zachary, both at home. Much loved son of Daniel Nuhn and the late former Joan Engelhardt (2010), of Kitchener; and son-in-law of Michael and Deborah Bennett, of Red Bay. Brother of Jami and her husband Dan Minda, of Kitchener; and brother-in-law of Jason and his wife Ixchel, of Toronto, Darcy and his fiancee Sarah Lund and Rachel and her husband Joseph Spencer, both of Red Bay, and Rebecca Bennett, of Wiarton. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy. 6 south of Wiarton, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 8:00 pm. Weir, Deborah Irene - of Oliphant, suddenly at her residence on Friday, October 7, 2011. The former Deborah Irene Danard at the age of 97 years. Devoted mother of Mary Weir and June Weir, both of RR#3 Wiarton, and Sally Tilley, of RR#1 Wiarton; and mother-in-law of Cecil Tilley, of Wiarton, and Pat Weir, of Kitchener. Loving grandmother of Rhonda Tilley, Roderick Tilley, Michael Weir, and Jeffery Weir; and great-grandmother of Victoria Kefalas, Savannah Weir, and Joshua Weir. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband John Hay Weir; son John Danard Weir; parents William and Mary; and siblings Mina Danard, Jane France, and Asa Danard. Family invite friends to gather with them to celebrate Deborah's life at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy 6 south of Wiarton, on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 o'clock. Devoted grandfather of Austin, Jenna and Madison. Brother of Kate (Hugh Stott), Burt (Barb), Bob, Hazel (Keith Mole), Naydean (Roger Cruickshank), and Edna Ellis. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Venus; Gracie's parents Alfred and Audrey Hayes; and siblings Irene and her husband Bert Given, John, Harold, Melton, Roy and his wife Anne, and Carl.
