Beulah Alene Bothwell

1922-2005

Peacefully at John Joseph Place in Owen Sound Thursday morning May 12, 2005. The former Beulah Johnson of Owen Sound formerly of Sauble Beach in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late John Bothwell. Beulah and her husband John were former owners of Bothwell Real Estate in Sauble Beach. Prior to the real estate business, they farmed for many years in Sydenham Township. Beulah was also very involved in community and church activities. Loving mother of Lynda and her husband Barry Cole of Leamington and Robert and his wife Pam of Guelph. Lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren; Karen and Jeffrey Cole, Todd, Tom, Tyler and Travis Bothwell. Predeceased by her brother George Johnson and sister Margaret Bray. Peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton Friday morning May 6, 2005. Alymer Walker of R.R.#1 Hepworth one day before his 101st birthday. Beloved husband of the late former Mary Agnes Balls. Loving father of Shirley Davidson of Allenford, Caroline and her husband Glenn Gates of R.R.#1 Hepworth and Rhoda and her husband Glen Elliott of Sauble Beach. Lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren; Susan and her husband Alan Thompson, Gordon and his wife Cathy Davidson, Paul and his wife Wanda Gates, Kathryn and her husband Robert Stanfield, Carol Ann Elliott and her husband Michael Armstrong, Lynn and her husband Simon Pendlebury, David Elliott and his wife Pam and his nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his four sisters; Myrtle Wilson, Margaret Barfoot, Isabel Westwood, Mary Barber and his son-in-law Jim Davidson. Suddenly at Gateway Haven in Wiarton Wednesday evening May 4, 2005. Helen Smith of Clavering in her 93rd year. For over fifty years Helen worked at Hunter Hardware in Wiarton and was affectionately known as “Hardware Helen”. Lovingly remembered by her niece Alein and her husband Eldon Atkinson of Chatsworth. Helen raised and cared for Alein from the age of 5. Helen will also be lovingly remembered by several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Beloved wife of the late Lucas van Tooren. Loving mother of Fred and his wife Jean of R.R.#1 Miller Lake and Nancy and her husband John Pelletier of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by her two grandsons Fred and his wife Simone of Granton and Ken and his wife Kim of London and her three great-grandchildren; Cynthia, Michael and Stephanie. Eileen Bernice Jackson

1913-2005

Peacefully at the Atrium Villa Retirement Home in Hamilton Friday morning April 29, 2005. Eileen Jackson of Hamilton and Sauble Beach in her 92nd year. Loving daughter of the late Albert and Annie (Temple) Jackson. Survived by several cousins. She was born in Amabel Township. Eileen earned a B.A. from the University of Toronto, Victoria College in 1940 and an M.S.W. from the University of Toronto School of Social Work in 1957. She practiced social work for over thirty years, including Director, The Children’s Aid Society of the District of Parry Sound, and Executive Director, Family Services of Hamilton-Wentworth. Eileen served on the boards of Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, Ontario Association of Social Workers, Canadian Welfare Council, Canadian Council on Social Development, Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs and Melrose United Church, Hamilton. She loved her cottage at Sauble Beach, geneology, curling and lawn bowling. The family is grateful for the care shown by the staff of Atrium Villa, Hamilton. Funeral service will be conducted from Zion Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach Wednesday May 4 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jack Fearnall officiating. Visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Lovingly remembered by her fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Pat Widmeyer of Orillia and Gretta Widmeyer of St. Catharines. Predeceased by her son Murray, two brothers Carl and Wilfred Widmeyer and one grandson Brian Steffler. Florence Amelia Ribey

1909-2005

It is with sorrow and joy that the family announces her passing, peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener, Saturday morning April 9, 2005. The former Florence Seaman of Kitchener formerly of Allenford and Port Elgin. She has prayed for eternal peace and God has now granted it to her. Florence was reunited with her husband Thomas who predeceased her on July 3, 1977. Born at Sauble Falls on July 3, 1909, Florence was the only daughter of Ernest and Isabel Seaman. Loving and devoted mother of Joyce and Ray Klem of Kitchener, Patricia and Clayton Reist of Waterloo, Adelle and Andy Siegrist of Sauble Beach, Leon and Judy Ribey of Waterloo and Bevin Ribey and Linda Dougherty of Port Elgin. Much loved by thirteen grandchildren and cherished by eighteen great-grandchildren. Florence will be fondly remembered by her only sister-in-law Florence Seaman of Owen Sound and also by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her two brothers Donald and John, a granddaughter; Anna Siegrist and two great-granddaughters; Britania Hadland and Krista Milhousen Florence was a member of Wesley United Church, Bruce Township for forty two years and joined the Allenford United Church in 1977 when she moved. She was involved in the U.C.W. at both churches. She was also a charter member of the Brucedale Women’s Institute, organized in 1949 and was active until she moved to Allenford, and then she transferred to Allenford Women’s Institute. Florence was always interested in the history of her family and community. She was the first curator of the Tweedsmuir History Book. Lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren; Angela Koehler, Mike and his wife Natalie Koehler, Rob Koehler, Sheila and her husband Greg Skripka and Tracy Pluem, her three great-grandchildren; Mitchell Pluem, Taya and Anthony Skripka. Dear sister of Abner Gingrich and his wife Joyce of Sarnia, Nancy and her husband Ossian MacPherson of Listowel and Esther and her husband Douglas Armshaw of Hamilton.
