SMITH, Mel P. - Peacefully, at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in his 79th year. Loved and cherished husband of Betty for over 40 years. Beloved father of Kathy Sharpe (Paul Calamai). Survived by his grandchildren Jenna Sharpe, Lauren Sharpe and brother, Ed Smith (Joan). Predeceased by his parents Percy and Anne Smith. Mel served in Europe during the Second World War and retired from the Federal Government after serving for 28 years. At Mel's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation with no funeral service will be taking place at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd), 743-8900, on Saturday, June 26, 2004 from 1-3 p.m.As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

REISZ, John - Peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, age 74 years. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Blackwood). John will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Kathy Wismer and her husband Steve, Patty Tanner and her husband Terrell, Robert Reisz and his fiance Cindy and Kelly Hulley and her husband Dave. John will missed by his sisters Kay Dumart and Margaret Sutton and by his sister-in-law Katherine Hunt. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary Reisz and by his brothers Peter and George Reisz. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener for a memorial visitation tonight (Thursday June 24, 2004) from 7-9 pm and on Friday June 25, 2004 from 12 noon to 2:30 pm. The memorial service will be held in the chapel, on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 2:30 pm. MacKENZIE, Monna Josephine - Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre, Guelph, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. Monna Josephine (nee Moser) MacKenzie, in her 93rd year, was the beloved wife of the late Harry MacKenzie. She was the dear mother of Peggy and her husband Ray Lang of Guelph. Monna is fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Paula (Derek) Armstrong of Sault Ste. Marie, and Sarah (David) Reynolds of Fergus, and great-granddaughter, Samantha Armstrong. She is survived by one sister, Winnifred Laughland of Perth, and by her brother-in-law, Hugh (Marg) MacKenzie of Kitchener. She is lovingly remembered by the Laughland, Moser and MacKenzie families. Monna is predeceased by her brother, Robert (Bob) Moser. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, June 24, 2004, (today) from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 25, 2004, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Jan Hazlett of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church officiating. KITCHEN, Lloyd Robert - Born July 17, 1923 in Puslinch, Ont. passed away peacefully in Cambridge, Ont., June 22, 2004. Lloyd worked many years for Allen-Bradley, Galt, Ont. For the past 28 years he resided on Vancouver Island, B.C. Lloyd enjoyed an 80th birthday party surrounded by East and West coast family July 2003. He travelled to Cambridge, Ont., for the "Kitchen Family Reunion" held June 20, 2004 and spent his last four days visiting family and friends. Lloyd enjoyed a wonderful Father's day. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Frances (White) Kitchen, his eight children, 23 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Helen Jones of Cambridge, Ont. and brothers Keith (Barb) of Kitchener, Ont. and Stuart (Pat) of Rodney, Ont. and many nieces, nephews and friends. Surviving Children: David Kitchen (Linda) of Victoria, B.C., Donald Kitchen (Rose) of Cambridge, Ont., Patricia Page of Cambridge, Ont., Grant Kitchen (Helen) of Cambridge, Ont., Michael Kitchen (Leslie) of Burlington, Ont., Janice Hacking (Rod) of Cambridge, Ont., Ruth Lovejoy (Stephen) of Duncan, B.C. and Jeff Kitchen (Louise) of Victoria, B.C. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren from Lloyd and Fran's ten children will remember grandpa as a quiet man with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Lloyd is predeceased by his parents; Henry Ellsworth and Rebecca (McLaren) Kitchen of Galt; sister Edna Pascuzzo; brother Clifford; eldest son Robert and eldest daughter Marlene Fillion. It is Lloyd's wish to be remembered in life, not in death. Lloyd requested no viewing or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. An interment will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Memory Gardens cemetery in Breslau, Ont. for family and friends. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

KILGOUR, John - Age 54 years. Little Joe is no longer with us. He passed away on the weekend of June 12, 2004. Little Joe would tell the people who dealt with him that today was his birthday. Little Joe was a member of our community who benefitted from the generosity of others. John Kilgour will be missed by those who knew him.

BASSETT, Nellie Barbara (Dyer) - Passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Saint Luke's Place, Nellie Bassett, 101 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Reginald (1982); dear mother of Merv and his friend Nancy of Cambridge, Barbara (Kevin) Lahey of Goderich and Sylvia (Donald) Hunter of Winnipeg, Man. Nellie was loved by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters, all of England and her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Bassett. Survived by her many nieces and nephews. Nellie was a long time resident of Hespeler, a lifetime member of the Salvation Army Home League, and a member of St. James Anglican Church for over 70 years. Nellie's family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, 658-9366. The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Those who wish, may make a memorial donation to either Saint Luke's Place Foundation or to St. James Anglican Church.

BECHT, Adam - At St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Saturday, July 17, 2004. Adam Becht of RR 3, Rodney, in his 61st year. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Dorothy (Reichardt). Dear brother of Jack and his wife Kathie of Tillsonburg, Elizabeth Maxim of Simcoe, Anna Nagy and her husband Steve of RR 3, Rodney, John and his wife Eva of Kitchener, Kathy Becht of Waterloo and Henry of Kitchener. Adam is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Maxim (1990) and his sister- in- law, Sheila Becht (2004). Friends may call at the Rodney Chapel on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 from 1-2 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Rev. D. Colquhoun officiating. Interment Tillsonburg cemetery at a later date. West Elgin Legion Branch 221 will hold a memorial service on Wednesday at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to the West Elgin Legion, Branch 221 or charity of your choice would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy. GEORGINA EVA ELEANOR BODE (nee Ballantyne)
1937 - 2004
It has pleased Almighty God in His divine wisdom and providence, to call from this earthly home to His heavenly home, Georgina, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Thursday, July 15, 2004. Georgina was 66 and lived, in Kitchener. Beloved wife of the late Donald Bode, who predeceased her January 8, 2000. Dear mother of Rev. David M. Bode and his wife Brenda of London, Debra and her husband Bruno Di Clemente of Mississauga and Duane S. Bode and his wife Brenda of Kitchener. She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Joanna Bode, Mario, Daniel and Sarah Di Clemente; sisters, Margaret Scheerer and Ivan Felker of Kitchener, Carolyn and her husband Bruce Allardyce of Woodstock, Bonnie Murray and Ron Galloway of Oakville, Faith and her husband Harold Forsey of Guelph and brothers, Ian Ballantyne and his wife Yolanda of Brampton, Cameron Ballantyne and his wife Susan of Kitchener and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice (Brooks) and George Ballantyne. Georgina was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kitchener and had been a long time employee of TD Canada Trust. Friends were invited to share their memories of Georgina with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and are invited Monday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The service to celebrate Georgina's life and faith will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kitchener on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Bugbee officiating. Interment to follow in Williamsburg cemetery , Kitchener. In memory of Georgina, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Holy Cross Lutheran Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home, phone 745-8445.

CLARKE, Robert "Butch" - Suddenly, at home, on Friday, July 16, 2004, at the age of 38. Predeceased by his mom, Beverly (May 2004). Beloved son of Robert; brother to Glenn and his wife Lisa and Heather Kenny. Will be missed by his nephews, Jeff, Kyle, Zachary and niece, Amber. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Butch's life will be held on Tuesday July 20, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, (742-4481), 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener with Rev. COSTELLO, Mary A. (nee Gushue) - Formerly of Bell Island, Nfld. Peacefully, after a long and constant struggle with her health, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 18, 2004, in her 68th year. Beloved wife of the late Ray Costello and also predeceased by a daughter, Joanne. Loved "Mudder" of Betty Baker (Harold) of St. Johns, Nfld., Rick (Shirl) of Cambridge, Raymond (Maryann) of Port Dover, Peter, Donna Greeley (Doug), all of Cambridge and Cookie Letemplier (Darrill) of Yellowknife, NT. Cherished by twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will dearly be missed by her sister, Liz Ryan (Wally) and her two sons, Gary and Pat and also a large circle of relatives and friends. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St. E., Cambridge, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose RC Church, Chalmers St. S., at South St., Cambridge on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow. GEDDES, Kevan - After a short, courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, Kevan passed away, on July 16, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in his 51st year. Loving husband and best friend of Dianne for 24 years; cherished father of Kristina, Merdith, and Whitney. Will be deeply missed by his mother, Vida; Brothers, Brian (Nahid) and Terry (Karen). Will be missed by nephews, Paul, Marc, Michael and Andrew and niece, Adrienne. Predeceased by his Father, Harold Geddes. Cremation has taken place. HENNICK, Martha Elizabeth (nee Lillington) - Passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Rudolph of Sydney, N.S. Devoted mother of Joseph (Helga), Joan (Alex) McKinnon, Tom (Barb), Wayne (Marg), Linda, Rick, Darlene (Max) Carter, Brenda Pittman and Randy (Wendy). Predeceased by her son, Stuart; infant daughter, Deborah and grandson, Jason Richard. Survived by her daughter-in-law, Wendy. Will be lovingly remembered by her 84 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Israel Lillington of Newfoundland and Dolly Stansbury of Brantford. Dear son of Ted of North Bay and the late Olive Lamothe. Dear brother of Aline Foisy, Bob (Mary), Dino (Mike) Boissonneault, Ron (Joanne), Joanne (Botch) Witzel, Danny (Sandy). Mark will be missed by many nieces, nephew and friends. Mark's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) and will continue 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, July, 20, 2004 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 749-8467. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Interment Williamsburg cemetery.
