Died peacefully, at Providence Manor in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Karl F. Keirstead. Dear mother of Walter Keirstead and his wife Jean of Montreal and Katherine Bush and her husband Joe of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Elaine Keirstead, Richard Keirstead, Dianne Keirstead and Jeffrey Shaw. Proud great grandmother of Morgan and Jessica Lang, Justice and Destiny Proulx -Shaw and Sean and Rachel Keirstead. Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of Gordon F. Tompkins, 435 Davis Drive (Waterloo Village) from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday July 21, followed by a Celebration of Life Service in our Chapel at 2:30 p.m. The Reverend Jean Barkley officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Providence Continuing Care Care ,Providence Manor Site would be greatly appreciated. Her family surrounded her with love during her week long stay and celebrated her husband's 75th birthday with her April 8, 2004. Survived by John, her husband of 49 years; her children Betty McLaughlin (Tim), Mary Ann Emmons (Randy), John Jr. and Patricia Bauder (Jeff); her grandchildren Ann Marie and Chris Emmons, Mikela and Trevor Witjes; her sisters Ton Juffermans and Mientje Roelofs (Wim) ; her brother-in-law Eef Kempkes; and extended family in Holland and Canada. Predeceased by her parents Fredericus and Elisabeth Jansen, step-mother Anna (Catharina) Jansen, sister Bep Kempkes and brother-in-law Ton Juffermans. Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of Gordon F. Tompkins, 435 Davis Drive (Waterloo Village) on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Good Thief, King Street, on Tuesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Jacoba’s presence will be deeply missed by her children Anita and Gerrit (Sylvia), her grandchildren Jacinda, Leigh, Corey and Sean, her great grandchildren Alex, Kaylah and Daniel, as well as family in Holland and the U.S. Jacoba was a beautiful person who demonstrated her people skills as proprietor of a jewellery store. She was a loving individual who gave her time and talent for the benefit of others. The service will be held at the Pickering Village United Church, 300 Church Street North, Ajax (Pickering Village) 905-683-4721 at 11:30am on Tuesday March 23, 2004. A luncheon will follow.
