LYON, John (Jack) - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in his 90th year. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Vera (nee Hopwood). Missed by his daughter, Jane and her husband Peter Crawford of Guelph and granddaughters, Karen of Guelph and Suzanne of Vancouver. Predeceased by his sister, Dorothy and his brother, Tom. He was a Letter Carrier with Canada Post for 42 years. Cremation followed by inurnment at Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital, 115 Delhi St., Guelph, N1E 4J4 or St. George's Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St., Guelph, N1H 3V1, would be appreciated. Thanks to the Guelph General Hospital, fourth floor staff and Dr. Moodley for the exceptional care given to John and their support for his family. (Arrangements entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph). A tree will be planted in memory of John Lyon in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph, Arboretum. Dedication service Sunday, September 22, 2002, at 2:30 p.m.

HARRIS, Bernard - Suddenly, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Harwood) of Fergus; loving father of Debbie and her husband Bill Hiscott of Holland Landing and Dave Harris of Fergus; dear grandfather of Kelly and Ryan; great-grandfather of Mikayla. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St., S., Fergus, on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment Belsyde cemetery. LADD, Jane E. - Peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, January 27, 2002, at the age of 65. Beloved wife of Charles Ladd of Ayr, formerly of Waterloo and Guelph. Loving mother of Peter and his wife Sonia, Norina and her husband Jim, Charles (Chuck) and his wife Susanne and Dennis and his wife Anita; dear Gramma of Jessica, Garrett, Tisha, Patricia, Douglas and Devon. Dear sister of Norina Pamiak, Edith Holman and the late John Ongarato and Carolina Holman. Jane was a longtime member of the Catholic Women's League and the FCRV Happy Gang in Guelph. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends, today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Jane will be tonight (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Sacred Heart Church, Guelph at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Cambridge Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

FOUNTAIN, Pelma E.I. - Peacefully at The Elliott Home, Guelph, on Saturday, January 26, 2002, Pelma (Harrison) Fountain, in her 98th year, was the beloved wife of the late Charles Fountain (1973). Dear mother of Vera Grills and her husband Richard of Alberta, Jim and his wife Helen, Ted and his wife Mary, Grace Stewart and her husband Harvey, Joyce Morrell and her husband the late Harry, all of Guelph, Thomas and his wife Anna Margaret of Alliston, Mary Snow and her husband Nelson of Beaverton, Alice Woodhouse and her husband Robert of Downsview, Donald and his wife Jane of Georgia, Peter and his wife Janet of Milton, N.S., Linda Schneider and her husband David of Prince Edward Island, Donna Revell and her husband Steven of Erin, Dorris Willard and her husband Gerald of Burlington. Pelma will be missed by her 42 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her two sons, William and Kenneth; her brother, Lesley Harrison and by her sisters, Mabel Ware, Della Goard and Winnie Martin. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at 1 p.m., with Rev. David Dyke of Christian Church, Disciples of Christ officiating. Spring interment Everton cemetery , Everton. MCGILLICUDDY, Euphemia (Effie) Winnifred (nee McCallum) - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in her 100th year. Loved mother of Ruth and husband Don Holland of New Mexico and Lois Roy of California; loving grandmother of Pamela Holland, Steven Holland, Pauline Palmer and the late Robert Roy; great-grandmother of Chelsey; dear sister-in-law of Thelma McCallum of Sarnia. Predeceased by brothers, Duncan, Gordon, Kenneth, William and Jim McCallum and sister, Jean Thornicroft. Effie was a lifetime member of St. George's Anglican Church and Parish Guild. Funeral and committal service will be held in the Kirk Chapel of St. George's Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St., Guelph, Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation. Memorial contributions to St. George's Anglican Church would be appreciated. Beloved husband of Anna (Liscumb) (Randall) Goetz and the late Isabel (1979). Dear brother of Mary Keating of Elora, Doris Johnston of Guelph, Rita Tefft and her husband Gene of Los Angeles and the late Wilfred Goetz and Florence Prior. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, (today (Wednesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral on Thursday morning, February 7 to the Church of Our Lady for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation with interment of ashes at Marymount cemetery. REDDISH, Martin Percy - Of Guelph, passed away, at his home, Saturday, January 26, 2002, in his 46th year. Loving father of Erica of Guelph; beloved son of Norma of St. Catharines and the late John Reddish; dear brother of Roberta (Al) Anderson of Scarborough, John (Gervaise) Reddish of Newmarket and Debbie (Glenn) Middleton of New Brunswick. Also survived by five nieces and nephews. Martin will be sadly missed by his friends who were with him until the end. Cremation. KIRK, Nelson Alfred - At the John Noble Home in Brantford, on Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, Nelson Alfred Kirk, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Gwenllian Margaret "Peggy" for over 66 years; dear and loving father of David and his wife Cyndy, Ann and her husband Dr. Eric Heathers of the United States; proud and loving grandfather of Kirk, Matthew, Laura Heathers, Jonathan and Andrew Kirk. Survived by his brothers, Chester (Helen), Alan (Joan) and his sister, Mildred (Glen); his sister-in-law, Glenys of the United Kingdom. Predeceased by his parents, Mabel and Alfred; his brothers, Harold (Marge), Andrew and his wife Yvonne. Survived by many nieces and nephews here and in the United Kingdom. Mr. Kirk was a veteran of the Second World War and served with the Lorne Scot Regiment in Holland. Cremation has taken place. A Masonic Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, NORTH CHAPEL, 495 Park Road North, Brantford. A memorial service will be held at Alexandra Presbyterian Church, 410 Colborne St. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m., Rev. K. Strachan will officiate. Donations to the Alexandra Church Memorial Fund, the Parkinson Society of Canada or the charity of your choice will be appreciated by the family. FRANK, Lotte - At the Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, on Wednesday, January 23, 2002. Lotte Frank, at the age of 73 years. A great mother and good friend of Parry Frank of Belwood, Peter Frank (Cathy) of Beaverton and James Frank of Guelph. Cherished Oma of Joseph, Joshua, Ashley, Katie, Daniel, Michele, Jason and Kile. Great-Oma of Samantha. Survived by sisters, Gerda Stella of Oakville and Traudl of Germany. Predeceased by grandson, Bryan Frank (October 28, 2000). Lotte was devoted to the St. Joseph's Foundation where she volunteered for many years. She was a foster parent to many children too numerous to name and was a special "Oma" to them all. She will always be remembered for her "tough as nails" personality as well as her "unmatched patience".
