WISMER, Ross C. - Our guardian Angel passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, March 3, 2002. Ross C. Wismer, in his 84th year was the cherished best friend and husband of Gladys (Lehman) Wismer. Loving dad of Michael and his wife Mardonna of Southampton, Tamar McColeman of Listowel and her friend George of Clifford, Joseph and his wife Lynn of Waterloo, Jenny Dunlop and her husband Ernie of Harriston and Debbie Mellen and her husband Kim of Guelph. Dear brother of Peggy, Fern, Ralph and the late Thelma, Phyllis, Sally, Lucille and Jean. Dear grandfather of 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends today (Tuesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Ross will be held this evening (Tuesday) at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph at 9:30 a.m. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Partners for Better Health Campaign would be appreciated by the family.

PENNAL, Kerby - Passed away, in Red Deer, Alta., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002. Beloved husband of the late Helen Heffernan. Loved father of David and his wife Mary Lou, John and his wife Donna, Alan and his wife Barbara and Rick; loving grandfather of Michael, Jeff, Julie (Scott), Laura, Nathan and Sam; dear brother of Marion Kenney and the late Joan Munsey; dear brother-in-law of Marcie Heffernan and Rosella Turenne. LAVERTY, John Howard - Jack passed away following surgery, in his 86th year. Predeceased by his wife, Muriel Howell. Dear father of Randall (Cathy) and Dale. Grandfather of Jennifer and Christopher. Great-grandfather of Kasienka. Son of the late Delilah Congdon (1942) and George Laverty (1961). Dear brother of Lyla (Everett) Coates and Lois (late Arnold) Maw. Predeceased by Georgina (Frank) Kelso, Harvey (Helen) and Roy (Mona) Laverty. Dear brother-in-law of Jean Rusk, Wayne (dec.) Leslie, Donald and Gerald (dec.). Family Interment of ashes in the family plot in Rockwood, Ontario.

ROBINSON, James (Jim) - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Tuesday, February 19, 2002, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Pearl (Steen). Loved father of Jim and Eda Robinson, Glenn and Jeannie Robinson, all of Guelph and Agnes Anne and Ed Findley of Coboconk. Loving "Poppa" of Elyse, Grant, Barbara Ann, Camille and Victoria. Dear brother of Rachel and Bill Kasza and Tom and Ann Robinson, all of Guelph and Leah Lewers, Billy Robinson, and David and Margaret Robinson, all of Northern Ireland. Also survived by: brother-in-law, Harry Gould of Northern Ireland; many nieces and nephews; extended family in Northern Ireland; and Gary, Carrol, Tanya and Justin Sood of Waterloo. Predeceased by his parents, William and Agnes Robinson; sisters, Margaret Gould and Agnes Cameron and brother-in-law, Bobby Lewers. Jim was a retired employee of the Guelph Correctional Centre. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Thursday) (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Friday, February 22, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. David Howells officiating. de BOER, William (Dutch) - Of Guelph, passed away, at the Guelph General Hospital, Thursday, February 21, 2002, in his 64th year. He was born in the Netherlands, December 17, 1938 and immigrated to Canada in 1949. Beloved husband and best friend of Betty (Waldie). Much loved dad of Debbie and friend Wayne Holmes and Christine and husband David Woodcock, all of Guelph. Loving grandpa of Vanessa, Phillip and Julia; dear brother of Nellie McHardy, Casey (Greta) de Boer, Peter (Catherine) de Boer and John (Kay) de Boer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dutch had a passion for the game of snooker and started many leagues in Guelph and the K-W area. He won the International Snooker League Singles Title in London, England in 1994 and was President of the O.B.S.A. in 1994 and 2000. He started the Senior +55+ Snooker Division of the O.B.S.A. in 1996-97 and won the first Provincial Championship that same year. He was Tournament Chairman for the 2000 Canadian Cue Sport Championships held at the River Run Centre in Guelph and was victorious in the first ever Seniors Division. Dutch had many other interests and hobbies. He raced stock cars for nine years and was a proud member of the Waterloo Regional Police Male Chorus from 1989-1999. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 42 years. He was also a member of the A.N.A.F. He was a retired Real Estate Broker and instructor and Past President of the Guelph and District Real Estate Board. Dutch's proudest moment was being inducted into the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame in May, 2001. Friends and family will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Saturday (7-9 p.m.) and Sunday (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Pkwy. N., Guelph, Monday, February 25, 2002, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Jon R. Fogleman officiating. Interment Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. Memorial contributions to the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (Mortgage Fund), 210 Silvercreek Pkwy. CROW, Mary Isabel (nee Leslie) - Formerly of Guelph and Puslinch, passed away at Caressant Care, Fergus, Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in her 96th year. Wife of the late Gladwin B. Crow. Loved mother of Margaret Radcliffe of Guelph, Betty and husband George Major of Fergus, Evelyn Crow of Guelph, Rita Crow of Brantford and William Crow and wife Lynn of RR 22, Cambridge. Fondly remembered by 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Edith Richardson of Toronto. Predeceased by sisters, Bessie O'Neil, Anne Farrell, Alma Hudson, Helen Gray and Violet Leslie and a brother, Oliver Leslie. Friends were received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph Monday from 7-9 p.m. A private funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Guelph, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 (today). HOBSON, Lillian Florence - At Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, April 7, 2002, Lillian (Cahoe) Hobson, at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Hobson (1984). Dear mother of Diane Colbert of Guelph, Judy Lockley of Winnipeg, Randy Hobson of Guelph, David Hobson (Karen) of Ottawa. Always remembered by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Jessie Brydges, Marjorie McGinnis, Hazel Peer, Dorothy Lester, Gladys McLeod, Margate Cahoe, Ed and Fred Young. Predeceased by her sons-in-law, Peter Bondi and Don Colbert. ALLAN, Dorothy Anabel - Born October 23, 1924, passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Loving wife of Jim Allan of Kitchener. Predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Anabel Breedon of Alliston, Ont.; sister, Kathleen Oberholzer of Kitchener, Ont. and brother, Orville Breedon of Orillia, Ont. Dorothy wants to thank her relatives, friends and neighbours for the kindness, support and pleasure they gave her through the years. God bless each of you. It was Dorothy's request to be cremated. There will be no funeral or memorial service. Arrangements entrusted to the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.

LODGE, Matthew Lee - Passed away, peacefully, Saturday, April 13, 2002, at home, at the age of 5 years.Matthew is the loving son of Tracey Lodge (nee Lindsay) and Kerry Lee Lodge, both of Kitchener. He will be greatly and lovingly missed by his sister, Taylor; grandparents, Gloria Gingrich of Waterloo, Jim Lindsay of Guelph, Gilbert and Marilyn Lodge of Greenwood, Nova Scotia and the late Audrey Lodge. Matt will be lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Ed Lindsay of Waterloo, Jennifer Lindsay and Dean Garcia of Guelph, Cindy and Greg Little of Kingston, Nova Scotia; cousins, Jessica, Kyle and Tyler. Sadly missed by his extended family, stepmother, Janet Ireland; stepbrother, Shawn and stepsister, Aaron. The family would like to thank the staff of the Rotary Children's Centre of Waterloo, the 9th Floor staff of Grand River Hospital, the wonderful staff of McMaster Children's Hospital ICU and Ward 3C. Special thanks to Dr. Michelle Worndl and Karen Rosenberger and family for all the support and care they have shown Matt. COOLEY, Herb - Passed away, peacefully, after a brief struggle with cancer, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the age of 67 years. Lovingly remembered by his many friends as well as his devoted wife, Geraldine (Gerry); son, Derek and his wife Laurie of Guelph; daughters, Vanda McQuinn and her husband Ken of Guelph and Naomi Lafrance and her husband Ron of North Bay; step-daughter, Jennifer; step-son, Ron; grandchildren, Desiree and Pearl Cooley, Kenny and Natalie McQuinn and Victor and Dillon Lafrance; brothers, John, Tom, Rick, Ivan and Ian and sisters, Babe, Ruby and Joyce. Missed by his faithful canine companion Herbie. Predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Del and one sister, Marie. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Friday, April 12 at 11 a.m. A reception to celebrate Herb's life will be held in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and may be placed by contacting the funeral home at 745-9495.

McGUIGAN, John Raymond (Jack) - Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, April 6, 2002, John Raymond (Jack) McGuigan, age 75, of Camlachie. Beloved husband of 51 years of Ethel (Davies). Dear father of Brian and Marion of Moose Jaw, Sask. and Ken and Diane of View Lake, Ont. Loving grandfather of Sarah and Scott Newman of Calgary, Matt of Moose Jaw, Jeremie of Kitchener and Shane of View Lake. Brother-in-law of Lila and Bill Smith of Midland and Herb Maynard of Oshawa. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Ron B., Paul, Harry, Ron M., Billy, Janice and Mary. Predeceased by his parents, John and Eva McGuigan and sister, Genevieve Betts. Jack retired from Dow Corning in 1984 after 35 years of service. He was an accomplished stamp collector, an avid golfer and a member of the Camlachie Golf and Country Club. Jack was past C.O. of the HMS Drake Cadet Corps in Oshawa and dedicated many years to minor sports in Guelph. Visitation at McKenzie and Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday) where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Bruce Genge officiating. Interment Lakeview cemetery.
