DIXON, Violet - In loving memory of Violet, who passed away January 31, 2003, age 101. We will all miss you Nana; daughter, Joan; son, Keith; grandchildren, Marina, Teresa, Dagny, Scott, Dwight; great-grandchildren, Mitchel, Lexi, Nathan, Harry, Max and Sam. PELLETIER, Ann Marie - Peacefully, at the Beechwood Private Hospital, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late George Pelletier. Dear mother of Jack Pelletier and his wife Flora of Victoria Harbour; grandmother of Karen, Michael and Robert. Cremation has taken place. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph.

LACHANCE, Frances Theresa (Rope) - Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre, Guelph, on Sunday, February 2, 2003, in her 73rd year. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Eric A. Lachance (1994). Loving mother of Eric Marc and his wife Martha. Dear sister of Agnes McIlroy and Veronica Maas. Predeceased by both of her parents; sister, Peg and brother, Bill. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where family will receive friends today (Wednesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, (175 Emma St., Guelph) on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 10 a.m. Interment at Marymount cemetery , Guelph. A Vigil for Frances will take place this evening (Wednesday) at 8:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Elizabeth Health Care or the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

JONES, Thelma Florence (Sherren) R.N. - At Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003. Beloved wife of George of Fergus; loving mother of Deborah (Whale) and Douglas and Robert Jones; much loved Grammie to eight grandchildren, Korb and Tyler Whale, Daniel, Christine, Jennifer and Jaime Jones, Alison and Andrea Jones and one great-grandchildren, Bryce Layton Jones. Besides her immediate family, she is survived by sisters, Helen McCormick of Belleville and Ivy Colton of Weston and brothers, Douglas Sherren of Stratford, P.E.I. ad Bill Sherren of Oakville. A service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Elora, Ont., on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. with Canon Robert Hulse officiating. At Thelma's request, flowers and memorial donations gratefully declined. Do a good deed for someone instead. Friends are invited to meet with the family over a cup of tea in the church hall following the service. Arrangements by Thomson & Collins Funeral Home, Fergus.

CHARTRAND, Eleanor Thelma - Peacefully at her home on Friday, January 31, 2003, Eleanor (Sutton) Chartrand at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of Leo Chartrand. Dear mother of Dianne Hoffer (Ron) of Summerside, P.E.I., Wayne of Guelph, Bradley (Marie) of Fergus, Eva Shipsides (Jerry) of Ancaster and Bruce (Tracey Graham) of Cold Lake, Alberta. Loved grandmother of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister, Norma Curtis and her grandson, Jeff Chartrand. Cremation has taken place. A spring inurnment will take place at Greenfield cemetery , Arthur. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. AMBROUS, Elvie - After a lengthy illness, on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Linhaven, St. Catharines. Elvie Ambrous, in her 83rd year. Wife of the late Fred. Loving mother of Brian and his wife Patti, Pat and her husband Doug Yungblut; dear grandma of Katie and Joe Ambrous, Dan, Mark and Andrew Yungblut; sister-in-law of Peggy Rushton of Portage, Manitoba, Albert and Doris Ambrous of Guelph. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ambrous was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, veteran of the RCAF in the Second World War. Mrs. Ambrous is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines where family will receive friends today (Tuesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Queen Street Baptist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with interment in Victoria Lawn cemetery. Memorial remembrances to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Henley Wing at Linhaven would be appreciated by the family.

DRONE, Dennis Paul Michael - At Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, February 2, 2003. Dennis Drone, at the age of 59 years. Beloved husband of Gayle (Christie) Drone. Dear father of Daryl and his wife Loranne of Kitchener and Chris of Toronto. Loved grandfather of Emily and Jamie. Sadly missed by his sisters, Clarence Rogers (Alan) of St. Catharines, Gayle Brown of Guelph and his brothers, Lynn (Joanne) of Fergus, Jack (Marie) of London, Hawley (Lynne) of St. Jacobs. Predeceased by his parents, Patricia (Bell) and George Drone. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday). CRUICKSHANK, R. Gordon - Of Briarwood Apartments, Versa Care, in Brantford, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Hamilton General Hospital, on Friday, February 7, 2003, in his 84th year. Devoted husband and best friend of Jean (Turnbull) for 61 years; loving father of Colleen and her husband Rob Davis of Cambridge, Sandra and husband Jim Howlett of Guelph and son, Darryl of Ottawa. Precious grandfather of Beth, Tim (Teresa), Michael (Diane), Steve (Nellie), Jon Mark (Sarah), Mark, Corry (Darrell), Martina (David) and James. Special great-grandfather of Austin, Owen, Naomi, Zachary and Davin. Survived by dear sister, Joyce Montgomery of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, John and Ida Cruickshank of Paris; brothers, Bruce, Glenn and Bert and sisters, Vera Robson and Amy Jarvis and son-in-law, Koos Fietje. Gordon was a longtime former employee of the Gypsum Lime and Alabastine Co. of Paris and retired from Canadian General Tower Ltd. of Cambridge in 1984. Gordon was also a charter member of the Optimist Club of Paris. Friends will be welcomed at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris on Monday, February 10, 2003 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 2 p.m. officiated by family friend, Rev. GOWAN, Doris Jacqueline (nee Shaffelburg) - Of Guelph, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, Saturday, February 1, 2003, in her 70th year. "Her spirit has gone to be with her Lord and her body to be cremated and her love and memories will remain with us always". Beloved wife of William (Bill). Loved mother of Valerie and husband John Meyer, Steven, David and friend Bernadette, all of Guelph and Shawn of London. Loving grandmother of Jordan, Taylor and Robyn Meyer. Dear sister of Edith and husband Larry Toohey of Woodstock. Predeceased by an infant brother, Clarence. COTTER, Frank C. - Of Guelph, passed away, at the Guelph General Hospital, Friday, January 31, 2003, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Eioleen Maltby. Loved brother of Jim Cotter and wife Ruth of Guelph. Dear brother-in-law of Orma Dyson of Kirkfield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Frank was the younger son of Ed and Irene Cotter. Frank was a former employee of the University of Guelph, Grounds Department and a member of the University Retiree's Association, Guelph Horticultural Society and Paisley Memorial United Church. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Sunday (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Monday, February 3, 2003, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Centre). HENDERSON, Thomas Lawrence "Larry" - Peacefully, passed away, after a lengthy battle with cancer, with his wife Marie by his side, at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at the age of 82. Born April 30, 1920 in Kinloss Township. Throughout the years, Larry resided in many places including Listowel, North Bay, Guelph, Courtland and Tillsonburg before moving to Royal Terrace Retirement Living in Palmerston, Ontario. No matter where he lived, he made friends that would last a lifetime. Among many professions, Larry retired from the Ontario Reformatory in Guelph, Ontario as a Correctional Officer. In his retirement, he and his wife spent many winters in Panama Beach, Florida. Pastimes for Larry included spending time with family and friends, making trips to the Legion and playing cards. This past summer Larry was pleased to have his entire family with him for a special reunion. Sadly missed by his beloved wife, Mildred Marie (Opfer) Henderson. Loved by his four sons, Don and his wife Judy of Sault Ste. Marie, Ernie and his wife Pat of Kitchener, Bill and his wife Sandy of Waterloo, Ed and his wife Cindy of West Bank, Kelowna, British Columbia and three daughters, Linda and her husband Grant Wolfe of Port Elgin, Gayle and her husband Ken Kritzer of Waterloo and Brenda and her husband George Vutskos of Mississauga. Lovingly remember by 15 grandchildren, Darren (Elizabeth), Blake, Wade (Marcia), Kim (Mike), Tara, Tracey, Susan, Brian, Kelly, Craig, Sandra (fiance Mike), Andrew, Alex, Lisa and Kate. Cherished by eight great-grandchildren, Amber, Spencer, Terrance, Colin, Christopher, Steven, Laura and Rebecca. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Isabella (Purdon) Henderson and five brothers, David, Robert, Charles, James and Andrew. Larry's family will receive friends and relatives at the Robert Trench Funeral Home, 385 Main Street West, Listowel, Ontario(291-4840) Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service and committal in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m, Rev. William Johnston, Associate Minister, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Kitchener officiating. A reception and lunch will held at the Major Andrew McKeever Branch, 259 Royal Canadian Legion, Listowel, Ontario. A private family interment at Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph, Ontario to be held next week. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the very caring staff at Royal Terrace, Dr. Semelhago and the many agencies who provided care through CCAC and Homecare. A special thank you to the nurses who provided private care over and above their regular jobs.
