SCOTT, Roderick Neil - 47A O.A.C. Of RR 7, Fife Road, Guelph and RR 2, Haliburton, passed away in Florida, on February 11, 2003. Beloved husband of Lourene (Carruthers) Scott for 541/2 years. Beloved father of Debra Scott-Colborne (Owen) of Mississauga and Mark Douglas Scott of Guelph. Beloved grandfather of Evan Scott Colborne and Lauren Taylor Colborne. Beloved brother of (Mrs.) Marjorie Fraser, Bruce (Lou), all of Guelph, (Mrs.) Barbara Helfkey of Kincardine, (Mrs.) Suzanne Fraser (Malcolm) of London, the late James, Donald and Irene O'Brien. Survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, James G. and Bertha Scott. Rod was a supervisor in the Vegetable and Fruit division of the Canadian Department of Agriculture for 33 years and owned and operated a farm at RR 7, Guelph. He was an ardent horticulturist, past president of the Guelph Township Horticultural Society and Graduate of the Royal Botanical Gardens as an horticultural judge. Founding member and past president of the Royal City Square Dance Club, member of the Wellington Men's Club, served on the Past Board of the Col. John McCrae Museum. In Haliburton, Rod was a founding member and honourary life-member of the Haliburton Highlands Twirlers Square Dance Club and member of the Haliburton Hospital Auxiliary. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi St., Guelph, (from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday) Service in the Gilchrist Chapel on Monday, February 17 at 1 p.m. Interment Memory Gardens. A reception will follow in the Trillium Room of the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

RICHARDSON, Willis Roy - Peacefully, at his home in Arthur, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in his 62nd year. Beloved best friend and companion to Denise Armstrong of Arthur; dear father of Robert Richardson and his wife Reona of Guelph; much cherished Poppa to Angela, Fallyn, Collin and Daniella. Survived by his brothers, Barry (Jane) Richardson, Blaine (Betty) Richardson and Glen Richardson and his sister, Gail Richardson. Dear friend of Lynda Richardson of Arthur. Predeceased by his brother, Bryon Richardson and sister, Ruby Richardson. WILSON, Eleanor Mabel - At the Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home, on Monday, February 17, 2003. Eleanor (Foster) Wilson, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of Edmund Wilson for 64 years. Loving mother of Mona Verberne (Hank) of London, Eleanor McVicker (George) of RR 6, Guelph and Edmund Wilson (Stephanie) of Guelph. Loved grandmother of Judy, Martin, Jennifer, Michelle, Colin, Denise, Nicole and Stephen. Great-grandmother of Chelsey, Katrina, Katelyn and Mateo. Dear sister of Susan and Mary. Predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Cremation Woodlawn Crematorium. Friends may call for a memorial visitation at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday). AWREY, M. Bernice (nee Guest) - Passed away, on February 16, 2003, in her 79th year, at Humber River Regional Hospital. Bernice, beloved wife of 40 years to Roy; loving mother of Kevin and his wife Susan; dear grandmother to Kira. Beloved aunt of June Ashton and great-aunt of Ruth Ashton. Predeceased by her sister, Mary Adamson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. W., (one block east of Kerr), Oakville. Funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church (262 Randall St.) Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. John's United Church.

CARAVAGGIO, Antonio - passed away peacefully, at home, with his family, in Rocca San Giovanni, Italy, January 15, 2003, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Lucia; loving father of Adele and her husband Americo Moretti of Guelph and Diego and friend Natasha of Italy. Brother of Concetta of Italy and Nicoletta Caravaggio of Guelph. Predeceased by five brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by three grandchildren, Tony (Valerie), Luisa and Linda (Neil). A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph's RC Church on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at 7 p.m.

CUFFLEY, Irene W. - After a long rich life, Irene passed peacefully, at Pinehaven Nursing Home, on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late William Cuffley. Loving mother of Judith and Alfred Johnson, John and Joanne, Paul and Margaret, Philip and Janet, David and Heather. Cherished grandmother of Steven, Sheldon, Daisy, Holly, Paul Matthew, Katrina, Debbie, Daren, Robert and Sarah. Great-grandmother of Matthew, Charles and Victoria. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 at 4 p.m., Rev. D. Rubach officiating. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of K-W. Predeceased by her sister, Jean Davidson; her brothers, Joseph, James and Charles Davidson and by her parents, Donald and Elizabeth (Foerter) Davidson. WAGHORNE, Hazel Jean (nee Brewster) - Passed away, on Saturday, February 8, 2003, at her residence, Jean Waghorne, 82 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Richard Waghorne (1977). Dear mother of Earle Waghorne and his wife Thomasina of Dublin, Ireland and the late Mary Begley (1995). Dear grandmother of Richard Waghorne, Nora Waghorne, and Richard Begley and his wife Anne; dear friend of Dan Knectel. Predeceased by her two brothers and her sister. She will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, 658-9366. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.

POECHMAN, Francis - Of Walkerton, passed away, at Brucelea Haven Nursing Home, Walkerton, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003. He was 75. Survived by his brothers, Harold and wife Mary Poechman of RR 2, Walkerton, Allan and wife Joan Poechman of RR 2, Walkerton, Willard and wife Dianne Poechman of RR 1, Hanover; sisters, Edith and husband Evan Austin of Guelph, Lillian Tubbs of Kitchener. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Linus and Helen (Weiler) Poechman. Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Knights of Columbus Rosary and Vigil Rites at 8:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Carlsruhe. GRIFFITH-JONES, Anne (nee Nethery) - Peacefully, at home, on Tuesday, February 11, 2003, with her immediate family, at her bedside, after a lengthy illness. Dearly missed by Haydn, her husband of 42 years and her children, Lynne (Jonathan Korchuk), Pamela (Michael Jones) and Hugh (Diane Bradshaw). Sister of Linda White (nee Nethery) and Mary Cameron Nethery (Robert Cream), she also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Isabel Emily Nethery (nee Cheshire); her father, Heber Nethery, Q.C. and her dear step-mother, Edith Beatrice Nethery. Anne attended Bishop Strachan School and graduated from the University of Western Ontario before becoming a Registered Dietician in Toronto. She was a sports and fitness enthusiast all her life. As a longtime resident of Guelph, she was a dedicated volunteer instructor at the local "Y" as well as a "Keep Fit" instructor at the Evergreen Seniors Centre. HALLADAY, Helen Mary (nee Chamberlain) - passed away peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of 64 years to Wilfred (Coon) Halladay of East Garafraxa. Loving mother of Marvin Halladay and his wife Rita of East Garafraxa. Dear step-grandma of Shayna, Erin and Julia. Predeceased by her sister, Elsie and brothers, Harry and Charlie. Will be sadly missed by relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. WOOD, Clifford Gordon - Peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, in Guelph, on Thursday, February 13, 2003. Clifford G. Wood, in his 99th year, was the beloved husband of the late Dolores K. (nee McGovern) Wood (1996). He was the dear father of the late Dawn Prestipino (1998), Janet and her husband Sam Prestipino of Pike Bay, Barbara Buttsineau and Jennifer and her husband Ernest Bennett, all of Guelph and Judy Campbell of Stavley, AB. Clifford was greatly admired by 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Friday, February 14, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Clifford will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph, on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph.
