Alexandre Thibodeau

We regret to announce the death of Alexandre Thibodeau on October 20 at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife; Emilie Thibodeau, one son; Robert husband of Gisèle of Thunder Bay, one daughter; Diane Shirley wife of Robert Champagne of Kapuskasing, one sister; Irène Cormier wife of André of Bathurst, four gandchildren; Meaghan, Owen, Alexandrea and Alysha, as well as two sister in law; Bernadette Paradis and Marie-Paule Gagnon all of Kapuskasing. He was pre-deceased by six brothers; Eugène, Donat, Paul, Alonzo, Emilien and Gérard, one sister; Yvonne and one granddaughter; Cindy Champagne. Funeral services was held at the Immaculee Conception parish with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Interment to follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Guy Villeneuve
We regret to announce the death of Guy Villeneuve on Monday October 2, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife Juliette Villeneuve, 1 son Gerald Villeneuve, 2 daughters: Denise Scott wife of Bernard all of Kapuskasing, Louise Villeneuve wife of Pierre Jeansonne of Val D'Or, 3 sisters: Marie-Marthe Labelle of Kapuskasing, Huguette Bergeron of Hearst, Céline Poissant of Beauharnois, 2 brothers: Camille of Chelsey, Gratien of Montreal as well as 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 5 at the Immaculée Conception Church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Gilles Raymond Bourgelas

We regret to announce the death of Gilles Bourgelas on September 22, 2000 at home. Gilles Bourgelas is pre-deceased by his mother Florence and his sister Rachelle. He is survived by his father Gérald Bourgelas of Val Rita, 2 brothers: Réjean husband of Laurie of Sault Ste Marie, Maurice of Sudbury and 1 brother in law Renaud Fortin. Funeral services were held on September 26 at the Sainte Rita Church in Val Rita with Father Louis-Philippe Belanger officiating. Cremation followed at the Hillcrest Crematorium, Matheson.

Gérard Audet

We regret to announce the death of Gérard Audet on Thursday September 14, 2000 at the Extendicare Nursing Home in Kapuskasing at the age of 75 years. Gérard Audet is survived by his long time companion Lucienne Séguin, 4 brothers: Lionel Audet husband of Béatrice of North Bay, Léo Audet husband of Rollande, Fernand Audet husband of Gisèle, Jean Audet husband of Thérèse all of Kapuskasing, 5 sisters: Estelle Boisvert wife of Raoul of Bradford, Juliette Audet of Ottawa, Rita Roy wife of Gérard of Ottawa, Jeannette Levesque wife of Edouard of North Bay and Yvette Lemieux wife of Raymond of Kapuskasing. Funeral service was held on Monday September 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame de la Paix Church in Kapuskasing. Cremation will follow at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson.

Pierre Deslauriers

We regret to announce the death of Pierre Deslauriers on Wednesday August 29, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 70 years. Pierre Deslauriers was pre-deceased by his parents: Toussaint and Marie-Louise Deslauriers, 1 son: Luc Deslauriers, 4 brothers: Joseph, Jean-Paul, Victor, and Jacques. He is survived by his common-law wife Helen Carrière, 3 sons:Ghislain husband of Solange of Val Rita, Jules husband of Gail of Moonbeam, Jean-Yves husband of Carrie of Val Rita, 3 daughters: Pierrette Audras wife of Marcel of Val Rita, Suzanne Babin wife of Ron of Kapuskasing, Luce Desrosiers wife of Michel of Manitouwadge, 4 sisters: Delorèse Dennis of Hamilton, Rita Cloutier of Ottawa, Thérèse Boulianne of Victoria B.C., Germaine Bouchard of Val Rita, 1 brother: Gérard Deslauriers of Kapuskasing, as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on August 31 at the Guenette Funeral Home. Cremation followed at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson.

Aurore Caron

We regret to announce the death of Aurore Caron on Monday August 28, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 85 years. Aurore Caron is predeceased by her husband Albert Caron 1 sister: Rosa Duquette and 1 brother Henri Allard. She is survived by 1 daughter: Carmen Néron wife of Rhéal of Kapuskasing, 3 sons: Edgar husband of Céline of Montréal, Jean-Claude husband of Angéline of Kapuskasing, Maurice husband of Lynda of Kapuskasing, as well as 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2000 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donation to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Samuel Willet Leybourne

We regret to announce the death of Samuel Leybourne on Tuesday August 15, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 67 years. Samuel Leybourne is survived by 2 sons: Norman husband of Denise of Kapuskasing, Harold of Kitimat, 3 daughters: Susan Collins of Chiliwack, Terry Thompson wife of David of Pickering, Veronica Westelacken wife of Jim of Lambeth, 2 sisters: Floris McMillan of Kapuskasing, Frances Twa of Bancroft, as well as 5 grandchildren: Neil, Eric, and Kenneth Leybourne, Quintin and Andrew Westelaken. At the request of the family there will no visitation or service. Cremation was at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson.

Yvon Brisson

We regret to announce the death of Yvon Brisson on August the 10 at the Amqui Hospital Centre in Amqui, Quebec at the age of 65. He is survived by his wife; Bernadette, two daughters; Roxane McLaughlin wife of Regent, Sylvie Brisson wife of Gaston Comeau all of Kapuskasing, one son; Christian of Gatineau, his mother; Mrs. Adele Brisson of Quebec, three step daughters; Guylaine Paiement and Francine Leblanc all of Timins, Sylvie Lamontagne wife of Pierre of Rockland, one step son; Michel Leblanc husband of Marie of Ottawa, five sisters; Yvette Belanger and Guylaine Brisson all of Quebec, Jeannine Brisson, Aline Claveau and Fernande Constantin all of Montreal, eight brothers; Gerard, Jean-Yves, Berthier, Ghislain and Jacquelin all of Quebec, Roger and Fernand of Montreal, Claude of Alberta as well as nine grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Marguerite née Larabie and his father Eugene. Funeral services were held on Tuesday August 15 at 10:30 am at the Immaculee Conception parish with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Interment followed at the Kapuskasing cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke fund would be greatly appreciated.

Jean-Paul Bordeleau

We regret to announce the death of Jean-Paul Bordeleau on Friday August the 11th at the Sensenbrenner Hospital at the age of 65 years. Jean-Paul Bordeleau is pre-deceased by his son Claude. He is survived by his wife Jeannine, 2 sons: Daniel husband of Suzanne Mercier of Moonbeam, Pierre of Ottawa, 1 daughter Lise Bordeleau of Kapuskasing, 3 sisters: Thérèse Lacombe of Mattice, Annette Martin of Hearst, Réjeanne Paquin of Lasarre, 2 brothers: Maurice of Clerval, Gilles of Kapuskasing, as well as 2 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday August 14, 2000 at the Notre Dame de la Paix Church in Kapuskasing. Cremation followed at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Marie Léontine Labonté

We regret to announce the death of Marie Léontine Labonté on July 29, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 96 years. Mrs Labonté was predeceased by 5 sons: Joe, Hector, Fernand, Arthur, Paul, 4 sisters: Antoinette, Yvonne, Cécile and Laurette. Marie Léontine Labonté is survived by 1 son: Bernard of Kapuskasing, 2 daughters: Claire Isabelle of Opasatika, Lucie Labonté of Ottawa, 1 brother: Emile Turcotte of London as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on August 1, 2000 at the Notre Dame de la Paix Church in Kapuskasing. Burial followed at the Mattice Cemetery.

Marie-Anne Gravel is survived by 2 daughters: Mariette Bania wife of Stanley of Kapuskasing, Louisette Tousignant wife of Aldéi of Kapuskasing, 4 sons: Gilbert husband of Monique of Smooth Rock Falls, Rémi husband of Monique of Smooth Rock Falls, Pierre husband of Danielle of Kapuskasing, Gaëtan husband of Suzanne of Kapuskasing, 2 sisters: Elizabeth Gravel of Jonquière, Georgette Arsenault of Jonquière, 1 brother: Jean-Arthur Gravel of La Terrière as well as 8 grandchildren. Funeral service was held on July 28 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing.

Délina Ouellette was predeceased by one daughter Anna Ouellette. Funeral services were held on July 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ste Agnes Church in Fauquier. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

We regret to announce the death of Rose-Aimée Mainville on July 17, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Mainville was pre-deceased by her 1st husband Francis St-Aubin, her 2nd husband Hector Mainville, 3 sons: Ronald, George and Marcel St-Aubin, 2 sisters: Angélina Dallaire, and Eva, 3 brothers: Lucien, Arthur and Maurice Leclerc. Rose-Aimée Mainville is survived by 1 daughter: Aline Gudgeon wife of Grant of Komoka, 2 sisters-in-law: Germaine Leclerc of Kapuskasing, Laurette Leclerc of Cobalt as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on July 19 at the Nativité de Marie Church in Moonbeam with Father Robert Tremblay officiating. Burial followed at the Moonbeam Cemetery.

Gilberte Swieca

We regret to announce the death of Gilberte Swieca 0n July 13, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 62 years. Gilberte Swieca is survived by her husband Jos Swieca of Kapuskasing, 2 sons: Ted husband of Laurie of Kapuskasing, Robert husband of Carole of Aurora, 3 sisters: Jeannine, Yolande, Denise, 3 brothers: Jean-Guy, Maurice, Roger, as well as 4 grandchildren: Erica, Tyler,Christopher and Craig. Funeral service was held on July 17 at the St Patrick's Church in Kapuskasing with Father Leo Papineau officiating. Cremation followed at the J.H. Fleury Crematorium. Donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
