Chevalier, Diane - A resident of Chatham and formerly of Tilbury died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, St. Joseph's Campus on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at the age of 61. Born in London, daughter of the late James Samuel Alliston and Dorothy (Lewis) Alliston of Chatham. Predeceased by her husbands Lawrence Labonte (1981) and Raymond Chevalier (1995) and her companion Don Butler. Loving mother of Kim and her husband Ivan Rossignol of Chatham, Mark Labonte and his wife Carolyn of Tilbury, Kevin Labonte and his wife Laurie of Chatham, Marty Labonte and his wife Diane of Tilbury and Michelle Chevalier and her companion Eddie Deelstra of Comber. Grandmother of 9 grandchildren. Loving friend of Bert VanBemmel of Chatham. Diane will be sadly missed by many friends, family and loved ones. Sterling, Harry - A resident of Chatham died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at the age of 77. Born in Port Lambton on July 16, 1924, son of the late Joseph and Roseanna (Campbell) Sterling. Harry was a World War II Veteran and a retired grain elevator manager. Beloved husband of Theresa (Marchand) Sterling. Loving father of Linda and her husband John Jansen of R.R.#1 Merlin, Carol and her husband Rene Tellier of Tilbury, Vicky and her husband Pierre Forget of Stoney Point, Larry Sterling and his wife Diane of Tilbury and Garry Sterling and his wife Sherry of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Oscar, Seville, Garnet, Herman, Stanley, Reg and Ralph Sterling, Orvella Bechard and Bertha Deceder. Born in Trenton Michigan, U.S. A. daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Amo) Compeau. Dorothy is the last surviving member of her family. and her enjoyment in life was her music. Beloved wife the late Lawrence Jacques (1951) and Bernard O. Demars (1976) Dear mother of Ruth Ann and husband Sylvio of Chatham, and Janet and husband Ronald Foster of Chatham and the late Florence Benoit (1987), Lorraine Gagne (1997) and Roger Jacques (1999) and Russell Jacques (2001). Stepmother of Monica, Amanda, Donna and Dennis, Pricillia and Patrick. Loving grandmother of numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Survived by daughter-in-law Gloria Jacques of Windsor and predeceased by daughter-in-law Beverley Jacques (1990). S.; Suzanne and her husband Bob Howes of Ridgetown and Michael Pyne and Brenda Murray of Hanover. Loved by 8 grandchilddren and a number of great grandchildren.. Born in Chatham, son of the late George and Marie (Reaume) Morris. Beloved husband of Violet (Bushey) Morris. Dear father of Butch Morris and his wife Margo of Chatham and Kitt Morris and his wife Carol of Chatham. Grandfather of Lisa Snary, Christopher Morris, Monique Morris, and Michael Morris. Great-grandfather of Chantelle, Shayna, Shauni, Trisha, Christopher, Shelby Faith, and Guy. Brother of Betty Legue of Chatham and the late George Morris and Jack Morris. Born in Windsor, Ontario the daughter of the late William Howard and Nora Pearl (Imeson) Gunning. Beloved wife of M. Glenn Thorpe. Dear mother of Jeffrey Thorpe and his wife Daisy of Woodstock, Jennifer Fedchun and her husband Lawrence of Chatham and Julie Thorpe of Chatham. Loved by her grandchildren Nora Thorpe, Bryan Fedchun, Alexander Fedchun, Jennifer Fedchun, Natalie Fedchun and Colleen Fedchun. Daughter-in-law of Arlene Thorpe of Kingsville, and sister-in-law of Margo McVittie and her husband Neil of Georgetown and Janice Breemhaar and her husband Pete of Georgetown. Linda was raised in Ruthven, Ontario. She came to Chatham in 1973 and retired in 2001 after a career in community health care. She was employed by the V.O.N. and later became the director of operations for the Community Care Access Centre. Born in Harwich Township, son of the late Bruce and Bessie Sheeler. Beloved husband of the late Donna M. (Pickering) Sheeler (2001). Dear father of Kristine Gahan and her husband Ed of Chatham. Brother of Frank Sheeler and his wife Verna of Raleigh Township. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joe farmed all his life in Raleigh Township. He was a 60 year member of Century Lodge #457 A.F. & A.M. Merlin, past Grand Steward, member of the Chatham Lodge of Perfection, Kent Chapter of Rose Croix, and the Moore Sovereign Consistory, Hamilton. Joe was also a member of Mocha Temple, London and the Ahcom Shrine Club, Chatham. Mr Fodor was a retired sergeant with the Tilbury Police Department and he was also retired from Ontario Hydro. Beloved husband of Peggy (Moore) Fodor. David Stephenson

Stephenson: David, a resident of Chatham died Wednesday May 28, 2003 at the Chatham- Kent Health Alliance. Public General Campus at the age of 80. Born in Newcastle, On-Tyne son of the late James Murray and Janet Isobel (Pringle) Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson came to Canada in 1957, moving to Chatham in 1958. He had spent most of his working life with the Ontario Water Resources Commission, later the Ministry of the Environment and then the Superintendent of the City of Chatham, Sewage Treatment Centre. He served with the British Royal marines during WWII, seeing action in Europe, the Middle East and Far East. He was member and twice past president of Branch 28, Royal Canadian Legion, former member of the Legion Colour Guard and he was the founder of the legion "Pub Crawlers" Swing band. He was also a member of the Chatham Organ Society. Beloved husband of Doreen May (Colledge) Stephenson. Dear father of David Murray Stephenson of Chatham, Patricia Margaret Lozon and her husband William of Chatham, Linda Mary Mulder of Chatham and the late Anthony Thomas Stephenson (1975). Grandfather of Steven, Scott, Lisa, Samantha, Kevin and Davey. Great Grandfather of 11. Brother of Robert James Stephenson of England, Gertrude Margaret Covey of England and Dorothy Mary Elizabeth Buckley of New Mexico. Thomas (Tom) King

KING: Thomas H. King went to his Eternal Rest on Monday, September 15, 2003 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Betty (Graham) (Hooker) King and two daughters Sherry and husband Douglas Kerr of Chatham and Wendy King Emmerson and Donald of Barrie. Two brothers Clive King and wife Evelyn of Jeannette's Creek and George King and wife Gwen of London. Also survived by sister-in-law Edwina King of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He was a brother-in-law to Eva Hyatt (Ollie) of Simcoe, Lyle and Doris Graham of Kingsville, Edna Teskey (Lawrence) of Ruthven, Hazel Gillanders (Edson), Jean Brodie (Donald) of Wheatley, Carol and Jim Caughy of Blenheim, and Donald and Eileen Hooker of Wheatley. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was the son of the late Percy and Marian King and brother of the late Jack King. He was a veteran of the second World War R.C.N.V.R. serving on Corvette Amherst and Mine Sweeper Thunder from 1939 to 1945 and was a part of the D. Day invasion. He was retired from International Harvester after 31 years. A life member of Branch 206 Legion, Tilbury and a Charter member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association of Chatham. Dear father of Beverly Edwards of Ridgetown, Brian Edwards Jr. and wife Sandy of Thamesville, Christine Edwards and friend Jaye Reynolds of Ridgetown, and the late Tracy Edwards (2002) and husband Jason Eskritt of Ridgetown. Also predeceased by an infant son (1966). Grandfather of 8 and predeceased by an infant grandson (1992). Son-in-law of Mrs. Marion Hartley of Chatham and the late H. Lloyd Hartley (1989). Brother of Beverley Edwards and wife Joyce of Chatham, Carol Kominek and husband John of Chatham, and predeceased by 1 brother and 1 sister. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Claude Gagner

GAGNER: Claude In the presence of the Divine Mercy, Claude Gagner passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday, September 25th, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born in Chatham 58 years ago, Claude is the beloved son of Hilda (Jubenville) and the late Norbert Gagner (2001). Surviving is his beloved wife Diane (Robert). Loving and giving father to his children Jean-Claude (John) Gagner and his wife Lisa; Lisa Carr and her husband Dan; and three grandchildren whom he loved very much; Felicia Gagner, Kennedy and Jordan Carr. Also survived by a brother Robert Gagner; a sister Connie Abel and her husband Terry; Godmother Shirley Lyons; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phil and Rosita Blais. Also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Ronald Gagner; brother-in-law Joe Robert and sister-in-law Yvette Robert. Claude was a member of the Moose Lodge #1692 (Fellowship Degree) to which he graciously donated his time and talents to its improvement throughout the years. He was a millwright at General Motors in Windsor for 27 years. He loved doing his crossword puzzles every night and donated his talent and woodworking skills so generously. He is now called by the Master Carpenter to continue his work in Heaven. Friends will be received at the Funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers on Friday at 7:00 p.m. followed by Moose Lodge Service at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham on Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Born in London, England, daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Wosfold) Osborne. Beloved wife of the late Adolf Alliet (1978) and the late Frederick Carson (1998). Dear mother of Patricia and John Carrick of Ridgetown, Mary Cogghe of Shrewsbury, Edna and Bob Plant of Wallaceburg, and Elsie and Norman Carsons of St. Thomas. Grandmother of 4 and great-grandmother of 8. Sister of the late Mary Manning, Phebe Hawes, and Alfred Osborne. DeKoning: Dorothy (Nana). Peacefully at Helen Henderson Care Centre, Kingston, Ontario on Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by husband, John DeKoning and son, John Robert DeKoning (Virginia). Daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Maude Warnock. Loving mother of Barbara Campbell and husband Bill. Our beloved Nana is fondly remembered by her cherished Grandchildren Krista and Stephen Campbell. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth (Lorne) Rankin and brother James (Frances) and Jack (Thelma) Warnock.. Sadly missed by many family and life long friends. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 81 Selkirk St. Chatham on Friday October 3 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Maple Leaf cemetery. Family & friends are invited to Holy Trinity Parish Hall for light refreshments following the service.
