Passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2004 at the age of 92. With the support of his wife Catherine, Brodie became a prolific artist. In his early thirties he met Hungarian born artist, Herman Heimlich and began to explore and experiment with the principles of Modern art. From then on, art was to become his overwhelming passion. Over his 92 years, Brodie created hundreds of much admired paintings and sculptures. In the mid-fifties, Brodie went to France with his family where he was inspired by the European art milieu. Numerous students benefited from Brodie's knowledge of art. For years he taught at the Ottawa School of Art and later in his home in Ottawa where he has lived for the past 45 years.
