Ethel Pauline Marklevitz

MARKLEVITZ, Ethel Pauline - At Errinrung Nursing and Retirement Home in Thornbury on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. The former Ethel Pauline Maluske of Thornbury in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Edward Marklevitz (December 2003). Loved mother of Gwen and her husband Charles Sangster of Thornbury. Sadly missed grandmother of Tanja Sangster and her friend Don Bennett of Cumberland Beach and Teesha Sangster and her husband Wil McReynolds of Tara and loving great-grandmother of Rachele Hlynn Sangster-Bennett. Predeceased by her brother Stanley Maluske and his wife Verna. Dear sister-in-law of Celia McClure of Niagara Falls. Ethel will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. A private family funeral service will be held at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME “The Valley Chapel“ in Thornbury on Thursday October 19, 2006 officiated by Vicar Mei Sum Lai of St. Peter's Sullivan Township Lutheran Church. Interment and committal services will take place at Thornbury- Clarksburg Union cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation, Owen Sound or to a Charity of Choice would be appreciated.

Pearl Meloshe

MELOSHE, Pearl Agnes – Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at the Ottawa Hospital on Monday October 16, 2006 in her 90th year. Born in Bentinck Township, Ontario, daughter of Margaret and Thomas Shewell. Beloved wife of the late Francis Patrick Meloshe and cherished mother of Nancy (Ian Pragnell), Mary (Phyllis Hierlihy), Patrice (Elmer Tumak) and Timothy. Dear sister of Helen Hill (Norman) of Windsor Ontario and sister-in-law of Wilfred and Helen Meloche of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Walter, Charles and Stanley, and; by her sisters Isabel Hurley and Violet Hogan of Owen Sound. Pearl was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Owen Sound. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Pearl's dedicated caregivers, in particular: Dr. John Seeley of the Ottawa Hospital, her family physician Dr. Priscilla Bright, Reta Currie and Eileen Whiteley. Friends may call at the BRECKENRIDGE ASHCROFT FUNERAL HOME on Friday, October 20, 2006 from 2- 4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Saturday morning at 10 am. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery. A Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8:30pm. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation Research Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd (between Bayshore Dr and Baseline Rd), Nepean, on Wednesday October 18th from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service in the chapel at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear father of Mary Constance (Connie) Ross (late Gene), Petawawa, Roberta Ann Cronin (Dr. Donald), Surrey B.C., Paul Redmond (Kate), Brockville, Peter Redmond (Edna), Fort McMurray AB, and Jeff Redmond (Pam) LeDuc, AB. Loving grandfather of Johnathan Ross, Jeffrey and Jamie, Evan, Taryn, Lucas, Jessica Redmond, Meghan, Christopher, Jenny and Mike Cronin. Brother of Evelyn Whittle (Brian), Olive Cotnam (late Ross) and Joan Page (late Alec) and the late Mary Redmond. Son of the late Alphonse and Esther (nee Chapeskie) Redmond. Brother-in-law of Helen McCann (Paul), Des McLaughlin (Jean), Dr. Mike Carthy (late Susan) and the late Marion and Frank Nighbor. Des will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Cremation. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning October 20TH at 11 o'clock in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke. The family will receive their friends at the Church after 10 a.m. Interment of Des' Cremated Remains in St. Columba's cemetery at a later date. In memory of Des, donations to The Stollery Children's Hospital, Oncology (Luekemia) Unit, Edmonton, would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke.

TURNER, Walter Joseph - Peacefully in hospital Pembroke on Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 in his 82nd year. Walter Joseph Turner of Pembroke, beloved husband of the late Veleda Turner (nee Gleason). Loving father of Patricia (Andre) and Janet (Stacey). Cherished grandfather of Katie and Racheal Turner, and Samantha and Cassandra Fleury. Great chum of Marty Sullivan. Predeceased by parents Edward and Melina Turner (nee Chartrand), by sons Percy and Jerry, by brothers Edward, Harold, Ernie, Eli and Victor Turner, and by sisters Georgina Gagne, Annie Chartrand and Mary Louise Turner. By request there will be no visitation, cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated St. Columbkille's Cathedral, Pembroke on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at 3 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the St. Joseph Food Bank would be appreciated. JANITCH, Mary Ann, artist - Died gently at Quinte Health Centre, Belleville, on Tuesday, October 3, of cancer. Dearly beloved daughter of Frances Janitch and the late Anthony Janitch. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Trina and Don McQueen, Pauline Janitch and Max Ferguson, Clifford Janitch and Katherine Bateman and Dr. William Janitch. Dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, niece and friend to many. Born in Belleville in 1949, she was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. Her art was exhibited in private galleries and the Art Gallery of Ontario; and a number of her works are in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. In her later years, as she battled disability, she worked privately in photography and other mediums. She created beautiful work, had a love and compassion for animals, and an ability to see the exquisite in the everyday. She was a fierce fighter for her independence, but she had a gentle soul. There was no-one like her. A family memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 4.30 p.m. at the Humphrey Funeral Home/A.W. Miles Chapel at 1403 Bayview Avenue in Toronto. We would like to thank Dr. Mathieson as well as the nurses and staff at the Quinte Health Centre for their extremely professional and compassionate care. Donations may be made to the Quinte Health Centre, 265 Dundas St. E., Belleville, ON K8N 5A9.

Dear father of Joe Damman, Mark Damman and Tim Damman. Brother of Charlie Mellon, John Mellon, Dorian Mellon, Alwood Mellon and Debbie Mellon, also Laura, Phoebe and Betty, all predeceased. Friends may call at the MACCOUBREY FUNERAL HOME, 30 King St. E., Cobourg for visitation on Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A service for Bob will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment at St. James Anglican Church cemetery , Tweed. Annemarie Ilse Frais

FRAIS, Annemarie Ilse - passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 13, 2006, in her 87th year, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Annemarie had a great sense of humor, always full of life and never complained despite her medical challenges. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, needlepoint, musical theatre and had a special love for children and pets. She will always be remembered for her frequent trips to Las Vegas to play the nickel slots. She was there with her family for the last time this summer. Annemarie was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Walter, who passed away six weeks earlier. They will both be sadly missed by their son Walter Frais of Sarnia, wife Trudy and their daughter Candy and husband Greg; daughter Sylvia Phelps of Burlington, husband Bill and their sons John and Alan; and son Peter Frais of Michigan, wife Ruth and their children Johnson, Matthew, Ruthanne, Jennifer, Christopher, Naomi and Martha and their spouses and children. Special thanks go to Manfred Richart of Austria, who came to Canada earlier this year to visit with them. Those wishing to express their condolences can join their family at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME in Burlington on Sunday, October 22, 2006 between 3 and 5 p.m. Online condolences can be expressed on the www.smithsfh.com website.
