Rose Benoit

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Thursday, November 4, 2004, Rose Marie Benoit, age 72, of Pain Court, . Born in Chatham in 1932, daughter of the late Laurentia Caron and Stephen B. Benoit, Rose was a lifelong resident of Dover Township and was part owner of Benoit Restaurant in Pain Court. She was also a member of le Club de l’amitié.

Cherished sister of Bernadette Reaume of LaSalle and Rosalie Dubuque and her husband Lyle of Pain Court.

Dear aunt of Joseph Dubuque, Dan Reaume and his wife Michelle, Bernadette Wilson and her husband Shanon and their children Avril, Amilia and Ashlyn, Anna Marie Arbour and her husband Dan and their children Alexa and Gabrielle.

She is predeceased by 2 brothers Joseph (1942) and Stephen (1990)

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham on Sunday November 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Parish and le Club Prayers will be offered at 3:00pm on Sunday.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Pain Court.

Cremation will follow.

Donations to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Immaculate Conception

Charles “Chuck” Butler

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Friday, October 29, 2004, Charles Henry Butler, age 65 of Chatham-Kent, husband of Margaret (Watson).

Born in Chatham in 1939 son of the late Gwen and Alfred Butler, he worked in maintenance in the Downtown Chatham Mall until his retirement

Dear father of Sherrie Butler of Napanee, Robin Nixon of Blenheim, Karen Fredenburg and husband Dan of Bath and Mike Butler and wife Jackie of Fergus. Sadly missed by several grand and great grandchildren. Brother of Bill Butler and wife Jean of London.

He is predeceased by 3 sisters; Catherine, Edith and Violet

At the families request there will be no funeral home visitation or service.

Cremation will take place .

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Robert Charles "Pete" McCann

Peacefully at his residence in Chatham on Saturday, March 15, 2008, Robert Charles "Pete" McCann, at the age of 65 years. Born in Windsor in 1942. Beloved husband of 43 years to Bernadette (Jacob) McCann. Son of the late Marie Charbonneau and Thomas James McCann both from Windsor. Sadly missed by his loving and cherished family, Bernadette, Johnathan, Sherri and Dave Burr, Shelli and Jeff Gartner, Jacob, Curtis, Caleb, Desiree and Joshua. Brother “Bob” to Richard, Colleen and Joyce. Predeceased by his sister Anna-Mae and brother James. Brother-in-law to Rita, Eileen, Sid & Janette and Raymond. Pete was Executive Director of Residence on the Thames in Chatham Ont. for the past 8 years and will be very sadly missed by his many friends in the community, especially, staff and residents at Residence on the Thames. Remember me, not for how I am but for how I was. Bring your memories, good times and love we’ve shared. Bring your smiles and laughter, not our trials and tribulations. Glorianna Évangéline Bélanger

Peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, April 11, 2008. Glorianna Évangéline Bélanger, age 90, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Norman Orville Bélanger (1962). Born in Chatham in 1917, daughter of the late Eulalie Pinsonneault and Treflé Gagner.

Loving mother of Jean-Maurice and wife Patricia of Dover Township, Vincent and wife Jeanne of Grande Pointe, Jacques and wife Patricia of Dover, Marguerite and Martin Schinkelshoek of Chatham, René and wife Elaine of Tecumseh, Lucille and Henry Barylewicz of Chatham, Yvette and Norman Caron of Grande Pointe, David of Chatham and Luc of Windsor. Sadly missed by 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Jeanne Brandon of Toronto and Julienne Lafontaine of Montréal.

She is predeceased by a daughter Laura Aline Bélanger (1947).

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday April 13, 2008 where Parish Prayers will be offered 3:00 pm on Sunday. Visitation also at the Church on Monday morning from 10 am until the time of the Mass. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Pain Court. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Church cemetery , Pain Court.

Doris Atkinson Sinclair

At Riverview Gardens, Chatham, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, Doris Atkinson Sinclair, age 90 of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Clarence Atkinson and Archie Sinclair.

Born in Montreal, daughter of the late Emma Harrington and Henry Dixon.

She will be sadly missed by: her daughter in law Joe-Anne Atkinson of Chatham and her stepson, Larry Sinclair and his wife Georgean of Chatham. She will also be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her son, Brian Atkinson, her daughter, Wendy Atkinson and all of her brothers and sisters.

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 12-1 pm on Monday, April 7, 2008. Funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Susan Jolley officiating.

Cremation will follow with interment of cremated remains at a later date.

Robert "Bob" Balasin

Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, on Sunday, May 4, 2008, Robert "Bob" Wayne Balasin, age 47, of Chatham, beloved husband of Debra (Provost) Balasin. Born in Chatham in 1960, dear son of Doris Butler of Chatham and Ray Balasin and companion Donna Browe of Bothwell. Bob worked at Ventra in Ridgetown, was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1412, and was also a Church Usher.
Loving father of Michelle Balasin of Chatham, Jennifer Brown and fiancé Jon Leroux of London, Shaun Brown and fiancée Shawna Lundquist of Red Deer Alberta. Cherished grandfather of Kitera O'Brien, Kendra O'Brien, Mason Leroux, Marcus Leroux, Karli Johnson, Ethan Brown and Mackenzie Brown. Dear brother of Rosemarie Strom and husband Todd of Chatham, Rick Balasin and wife Linda of Chatham, 3 step-sisters; Shelley (Rob) Jardine of Belle River, Sheila Balasin of Belle River, Miki Butler of Chatham. Brother-in-law of Ray Provost (Nancy) of Chatham, Diane Douglas (Wes) of Toronto. Also sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Dear son-in-law of Art Provost of Chatham and the late Delores Provost. He is predeceased by a brother Andy Balasin and a step-father Don Butler.

Chatham from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday May 6, 2008, and again on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Members of the Knights of Columbus prayers Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's cemetery.

Claude Patrick Bernard

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, on Monday April 28, 2008, Claude Patrick Bernard, age 78 of Chatham, beloved husband of Geralda (Allard) Bernard. Born in New Brunswick in 1929 son of the late Marie-Ann Lanteigne and Solomon Bernard, Claude was a Farmer and Mechanic by trade.

Loving father of Gerry and his wife Regina of Chatham and Claudette McBrayne and her husband Randy of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of Richard (Karyn) Bernard, Norman (Sharron) Gagnon, Shelly (Scott) Baker and Kelly (Ric) Thompson and also by 7 great granchildren. Dear brother of Rebecca Bernard of New Brunswick, Patricia Bernard of Quebec, Stella and husband Terry of Calgary, Omer Bernard and wife Osethe of Wallaceburg and Art Bernard of Quebec. Predeceased by a son Robert in 1975 and a sister-in-law Lise Bernard.

Maria Anna Bertocchi

Maria Anna (Ucci) Bertocchi, March 11, 1936-March 20, 2008. Ucci Bertocchi (nee Delise) passed away peacefully Thursday morning surrounded by her loving family after her courageous battle with cancer at the age of 72 years. Born in Isola Italy, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Lidia Delise. Beloved wife of Claudio, beloved mother of Johnny Bertocchi of Chatham, beloved grandmother of Lorenzo and Venessa Bertocchi of Chatham, beloved older sister of Marisa Carusone (nee Delise) and Pasquale Carusone of Loretto, beloved oldest sister to Jenny Bertok (nee Delise) and Mario Bertok of Pain Court, beloved Aunt of Marina and Salvatore Lopiccolo of Newmarket, Daniela and Gary Reid of Alliston, Sheila and Roberto Di Gregorio of Windsor, Julie Bertok of Capistrano Beach, California, Rick Bertok of Chatham and beloved Great Aunt of Adrian and Nicole Reid of Alliston.

Friends and family are welcome to join together at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday March 24, 2008. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at 10:00 am in St. Agnes' Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's cemetery.

Antoinette Chaput

At Riverview, Chatham-Kent, on Saturday, April 26, 2008, Antoinette Chaput, age 89, of Chatham, wife of the late Joseph Chaput (1996). Born in Stoney Pointe on April 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Malvina (Lauzon) and Nelson Houle.

She will be sadly missed by: her children, Juliet McIntyre and her husband Alan of Chatham and Ed and his wife Margaret of Blenheim, 5 granddaughters, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by a daughter Joan Warwick, a granddaughter Carrie-Anne McIntyre and all her brothers and sisters.

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and again on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Parish Prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's cemetery.

Maria Catharina de Kievit

Peacefully at Sydenham Campus (Wallaceburg), Chatham-Kent, on Sunday, April 6, 2008, Maria Catharina de Kievit, in her 100th year, of Chatham, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Dennis de Kievit (1998). Born in The Netherlands in 1908 daughter of the late Anna Beunker and Johannes Wijsman, she was the last surviving member of her family. Maria worked in the Housekeeping Department at St. Joseph's Hospital, she enjoyed Knitting and also loved playing cards and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Loving mother of Nellie Wijsman of Chatham, John and Tina de Kievit of Chatham, Dick and Tina de Kievit of Chatham, Joe de Kievit and friend Martha Harris of Chatham, Diane Van Dusen and husband Ralph of Chatham, Mary Hoskins of Ridgetown and Anne and David Hebert of Wallaceburg. Sadly missed by 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 grandchildren Joey, Linda and Connie and by 3 great great grandchildren Faith, Hope and Nolan.

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 11:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Parish prayers Wednesday at 3:45 pm. Burial will take place in St. Anthony's cemetery.

Allan Terry DeVogelaere

Suddenly in Chatham-Kent, on Friday, April 25, 2008, Allan Terry DeVogelaere, age 44 of Pain Court, beloved husband of Karen (Goodison).

Born in Chatham on November 12, 1963 son of Flo (Haydon) and Albert DeVogelaere Sr., he was an employee of Meritor.
He will be sadly missed by: his dearest daughter Erycka, at home, a brother Albert Jr. "Bing" and his wife Taffy of Chatham, his nieces Devon and Megan and a nephew Deryck.

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 and again on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted in The Hinnegan-Peseski Chapel, on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Fr. Joseph Nevett of Blessed Sacrament Church, officiating.

Cremation will follow. A reception will be held at the K. B. D. Club on Byng Ave. immediately following the funeral service.

At Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, Donald Arthur Lozon, age 73 of Chatham-Kent, beloved husband of Donna (Kelly) Lozon.

Born in Chatham on December 24, 1934 son of the late Winifred (Sexton) and Stanley Lozon, he was retired from International Trucks and a member of the C. B. D. Club.
He will be sadly missed by: a son Rick and wife Sandra, and a daughter Lori Hewak and husband Tom all of Chatham 7 grandchildren, Eric, Jessie, Melissa, Michael, Jacob, Joey and Zachary, a great-granddaughter Erica and a sister Doreen Lozon of Chatham.

Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 4th. Funeral Service will be conducted in The Hinnegan-Peseski Chapel, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Vere of St. Ursula's Church, officiating.

Born in Chatham on April 03, 1923 daughter of the late Mabel (Bowers) and John Titus, she worked at Mulhern’s Department Store for many years

She will be sadly missed by: her children, Cindy Drobko, Candy Haynes and Jack Drobko, and grandchildren Samantha, Darcy and Krystal
She is predeceased by a son Nick Gennick (1992).

Private visiting by friends and relatives was held at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Memorial Service will be conducted later.

Cremation has taken place.
