MacRitchie, Murdo Murray

At the Kincardine Hospital, on Wednesday, June 6th, 2001, in his 78th year, Murdo Murray MacRitchie of Port Elgin. Beloved husband of the former Jean MacKenzie. Dear father of Jean Anne and her husband Lloyd Knuth of Thornhill, Murda and her husband Robert Schmidt of Newmarket, Deborah and her husband William Cole of Whitby, and Murray and his wife Diane of Whitby. Grandfather of Jeffrey, Gregory, Carrie, Ryan, Joanne, Bill, Mathew and Sheena. Brother of Alex, and Innis and his wife Catherine. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Kay MacRitchie and Dorothea MacRitchie. Predeceased by his brothers, Lionel and Donald (Dan) MacRitchie.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Wild officiating.

At the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, Owen Sound, on Friday, June 1st, 2001 in her 74th year, the former Ruth Paddon of Port Elgin. Beloved wife of George Reeves. Dear mother of Lynn and her husband John Gorwill of Elora, and John and his wife Allyson of Kitchener. Grandmother of Jaclyn and Lauryn. Sister of Nora Hughes of London and Malcolm Paddon of Lethbridge, Alberta. She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Susanna Paddon and by one sister and six brothers.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral service will be conducted in Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce Street, Port Elgin on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Williams officiating.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family early Friday morning, May 25th, 2001 at the age of 49 years, Ronald Dwight Middleton of Port Elgin. Husband of the former Sally Graham. Father of Graham and Shannon of Victoria, B.C., Terri and her fiance Eric Frampton of Oshawa, Dougal of Port Elgin and Shannon Pilatszke and her husband Peter Knudsen of Orangeville. “Grandpa Dwight” to Tanner, Carleigh, Kade & Riley. Brother of Brad, Jeff and his wife Tammi, Bonnie and her husband Lindsay Ruttan, Kim and her husband David Johnson. Brother-in-law of Bill Graham and his wife Anne, Ken Graham, Judy and her husband Robbie Brethat, Betty and her husband Dave Little. He is also survived by his parents Ron Middleton of Evansville and Jean Middleton of Gore Bay, and by several nieces and nephews.

Suddenly on Sunday, May 20th, 2001 at the age of 20 years, Crystal Howe of Bruce Township. Loving daughter of Ken and Doreen Howe of Bruce Township. She will be missed by her sisters, Lisa and her husband Dwight Wardrop of Sauble Beach, Michelle of Bruce Township, and by her brother, Todd and his wife Leah Coulthart-Howe of Barrie. Aunt of Nathan and Kyle Wardrop. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Florence Howe and Helen Barker, both of Port Elgin, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special friend of Scott Ferguson.

Howe of Port Elgin, husband of the late Hazel Hay and the late Annabelle Tennyson, brother of Orland Howe and his wife Agnes of Port Elgin, stepfather of Bill Tennyson and his wife Marjorie of Bruce Twp., brother-in-law of Florence Howe of Port Elgin. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and by his caregiver Inge Martin of Keady. Predeceased by his sisters Verna Heffner, Vera Bradley and Bessie McKenzie and brother Elwood Howe.

At the Craigholme Nursing Home, Ailsa Craig, on Friday, May 11th, 2001, at the age of 92 years, the former Ruby McLeod, formerly of London and Port Elgin. Wife of the late Lionel Rathwell. Dear mother of Ronald and his wife Marion of Simcoe, Murray and his wife Phyllis of Forest and William of Chatham. Loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Angus and Amelia McLeod. She is also predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church.

Dear friend and husband of Sharon Jeffrey of Port Elgin. He is also survived by his mother Norine Cranston of Markham, sisters, Jean and her husband Blaine Boswell of Pittsburgh, and Beverly and her husband David Hill of Stouffville. He will be missed by Sharon’s family, Marilyn and her husband Mike Palmer of Tiverton and Karen and her husband Todd Kennedy of McGregor, his nieces and nephews, Scott & Sheryl, Leslie & Karen, Warren, Daisy & Brittany. He was predeceased by his father Ray Cranston, brother Merlyn and mother-in-law Edna Duck and by his faithful friend Tasha.

At the Southampton Care Centre on Sunday, April 8th, 2001, Jean Smith of Southampton. Wife of Cyril Smith. Mother of Nancy (Mrs. Wray Smith) of Southampton, Paul and his wife Terri of Kitchener, and Danny of Southampton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.

A private family graveside service will be held at Southampton cemetery.
