Ritchie-Roote, Angel Morningstar

At Grey-Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Monday, June 24th, 2002, lovingly expected child of Crystal Ritchie and Robert Roote, granddaughter of Gloria Ritchie and Gordon Thompson, and Virginia Roote, all of the Saugeen First Nation. Angel will be missed by her aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at the residence of Gloria Ritchie, 95 Cameron Dr., Saugeen First Nation, on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at the residence on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Philip Ritchie and Pastor Martin Froehlich officiating.

Interment French Bay cemetery.

Bigras, Wendy Joy

Suddenly at her residence on Sunday, June 30th, 2002, at the age of 47 years, Wendy Bigras of Port Elgin, wife of Art Bigras, mother of Michelle and her husband Sheldon Janes of Oshawa, stepmother of Julie and her husband Andy Nicoll of Port Elgin. Nana to Liam, Victoria and Teigan. Daughter of Sally Wulff of Port Elgin, daughter-in-law of Fern Bigras of Sudbury. Will be missed by her Godmother Muriel Eagles of Meaford and the Bigras family. Survived by her siblings, Dean Burrows of Southampton, Chris Wagner of Corbeil, Karla McMillian of Port Elgin, Sean Burrows of Barrie and by many nieces and nephews. Special friend of Nicole and Volker Oettershagen and Lise and Ray Arsenault, all of Port Elgin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Port Elgin on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2002 at 11 a.m., with Father Robert Hudson as celebrant, followed by a reception with the family in St. Joseph's Jubilee Hall.

Cole, M. Pearl

At Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Thursday, July 4th, 2002, at the age of 88 years, Margaret Pearl Cole, the former Pearl MacIntyre formerly of Underwood. Mother of Bill and his wife Debbie of Southampton. Grandma to Joanne of Auckland, New Zealand, and Bill of Cologne, Germany. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and John (Archie) MacIntyre, and by one sister Thelma Carter.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday evening, July 5th. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with Father Robert Hudson officiating.

McKinnon, Robert Kenneth

Suddenly in Northern Ontario on Thursday, July 4th, 2002 at the age of 47 years, Bob McKinnon of Saugeen Shores. Dear friend and loving partner of Marilyn Hills. Bob will be dearly missed by his sons, Chris of Toronto and Greg at home, and by their mother Suzanne McKinnon. Son of Freda and the late Ken McKinnon, brother of Jim and his wife Lynne of Saugeen Shores, Joanne and her husband Dwight Smith of Oshawa, Susan and her husband Ben Miller and Paul and his wife Suesanne, all of Saugeen Shores. Bob will be missed by his aunts and uncle, Doretta Potts, and Kay and Bill Lindsay, and by his many nieces and nephews. Also missed by Marilyn’s children, Don and Venetta Hills and their daughter Jenna, and Tanya and Chad Quanz.

Gordon Williams officiating.

Galvin, Patrick Carnegie

Peacefully on Monday, July 8th, 2002 in his 80th year, Patrick Galvin of Niagara-on-the-Lake, formerly of Port Elgin. Husband of the former Mary Fanstone. Father of David and his fiancée Gisèle of Burlington/Southampton, Christine of Bracebridge, Andrew and his wife Donna of Shannonville. Brother of Brian and his wife Doreen of Toronto. He is also survived by his granddaughter Cheyenne. He is predeceased by his daughter Patricia, his first wife Karla, and his brother Jack.

Schmitt, Gordon Alvin

At Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton Site, on Sunday, July 14th, 2002, at the age of 84, Gord Schmitt of Port Elgin. Loving husband of the former Helen McLaren. Dearly loved father of Vern and Vicki of Binbrook, Helen and her husband Gerald Leudke of Temagami, Joy and Pete of Petersburg and Gord of Port Elgin. Survived and missed by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by son George, two brothers and two sisters.

Baker, Lloyd Sydney

At Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton Site, on Saturday, July 13th, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer, Lloyd Baker of Port Elgin and formerly of Guelph. Loving husband of the former Effie Norris. Devoted father of Lynda and her husband Bryan Le Blanc of Port Elgin, Bob and his wife Sherry of Whistler, BC, Don of Revelstoke, BC, Wendi and her husband John Dawson of Tagish, Yukon and Paul and his wife Jeanine of Craig Lake, Yukon. Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Loving brother of Helen and her husband Wilf Ottman of Kitchener and Evelyn Delany of London. He is predeceased by his brothers Lew and Ken and grandson Evan.

A private family service and interment will take place at Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph.

A Celebration of Life for Lloyd will be held at Lloyd and Effie’s residence on Sunday, July 21st from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Wathke, Philip Bryan

Suddenly in Calgary on Monday, September 30th, 2002. Dear son of George Wathke of Port Elgin and the late Elizabeth Wathke. Beloved brother of Lisa and her husband Charles Butchart of Southampton, and Brenna Wathke of Laussane, Switzerland and the late Hugh Wathke.

At the Southampton Care Centre on Saturday, September 21st, 2002, in her 100th year, the former Eleanor Teasdale. Wife of the late Guthrie W. Fulks. Mother of Warren Fulks of Dallas, Texas, and Joel Fulks of Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by two granddaughters, one grandson, by her daughter-in-law Marlene Fulks, and by her sister-in-law Marion Teasdale. She is predeceased by her son Arnold, four sisters and by four brothers.

At the Southampton Care Center on Tuesday, September 17th, 2002 at age of 85, the former Olive Hill of Saugeen Township. Beloved wife of the late R.J.Bell. Dear mother of Shirley James of Toronto. Dear grandmother of Leslie James of Saugeen Township. Also survived by sisters Elizabeth Roach of Dundalk, Eva and her husband Bob Bell of Shelburne, Barbara Hill of Toronto and her sister-in-law Isobel Bell of Port Elgin. Predeceased by dearly loved son Edward, sisters Jean Hunter, Ethel Henderson, Ruby Sturroch, and brothers James and Ross.
