Peacefully at the Woolcott Wing of Welland County Hospital on Saturday November 9, 2002 in her 79th year, K. Ann Wardell of Fonthill, beloved wife of the late Clifford Wardell (1998). Loving mother of Gloria (Don) Metler, Debbie Sibbett, Jeff (Michelle) Tufts, and Candee (David) Mikolasek. Also loved by her grandchildren Cheryl (Mark) Dakin, Tim (Sherri) Metler, Cari (Paul) Hoekstra, Brett (Julie) Sibbett, Tanya (Jeff) Tufts, Darren Mikolasek, Bobbi-Ann (Andrew) Mikolasek, Jenny Reid, Chantelle, Jessica, Ashley and her great-grandchildren Matthew and Julia Jean Dakin, Adam and Jakob Hoekstra and Brittany Sibbett. Dear sister of Dana McIntyre and Bill (Lois) McIntyre. Predeceased by her parents William "Bill" and Lucy McYntyre. Suddenly at Welland County General Hospital, on Friday, November 8th 2002, in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of Alex and loving mother of Katherine Gatzke, Anni Kopschinsky, Conrad Frey, Linda Yaremkiw and Evelyn Mask (Yaremkiw). Survived by her 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. passed away suddenly at his home in Fonthill, after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Friday November 8th 2002, in his 55th year. Loving father of Andrea and her husband Ryan Siwek of St. Catharines and Robert John Stubbings of Fonthill. Dear son of Dorothy Stubbings of Fonthill and the late Bob Stubbings. Dear brother of Jane and her husband Jim Neudorf of Fonthill and loving uncle to their children Misha and Brion. Survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr Ferne Everett Wright

passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital, on Saturday December 7th 2002, in his 90th year. Predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (1968) and his second wife Bea (1996). Beloved father of Lorraine (Don) Metler, Kaye (Gary) McMann and loving father-in-law of Sharon Wright. Predeceased by his son Dale (1992) and his daughter Marg (1986). Stepfather of Paul (Caroline) Pudge. Also loved by his grandchildren Dan and Vikki, David and Maria, Wayne and Beverley, Gord and Lorraine, Chris and Tammy, Craig and Amy, Karen, Cindy, Kathie and Ryan, Marty, Stephen, Ian, Jodi and his great-grandchildren Katie, Jodie, Callie, Isabella, Kyle, Hollie and Emma. Visitation with the family on Tuesday December 10th 2002 at Fonthill Baptist Church from 1:00 pm. until the Service of Remembrance at 2:00 pm. with Reverend Jim Manuel officiating. Dear sister of Mrs. Ora Crafter of Fonthill. She will be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dear father of Paul Pasko and his wife Helen of Mississauga and Vicki Strohak and her husband Ed of Wainfleet. Loving grandfather of Sean, Travis, Laura, Michael, Bobby and Tori. Dear brother of Martin Pasko of Welland and brother-in-law of Helen Pasko of Port Colborne and Charles and Mary Mason of Welland. Survived by several nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Anna and Joseph Pasko and his brother John Pasko. Joseph came to Canada in 1935. He served overseas with the Canadian Army during World War II. Mr Peter Michael Rocco

at the Welland County Hospital on July 17, 2003, of Ridgeville, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Agnes (Kelly) Rocco. Dear father of Patricia Rocco (Gregory Golob) of Fonthill, Peter Rocco of Jordan, and Kathleen Rocco of Reichenbach, Germany. Grandfather of Bianca Rocco, Dominic Golob, Alexei Golob, Vanessa Krause, Rebecca Rocco, Jonathon Rocco and the late Marlow Krause. Brother of Rose Krafft, Carmen Rocco, Thomas Rocco, Betty Rocco, Ann Summerson and predeceased by Jeanette Mancuso, Angelo Rocco, Joseph Rocco, Reginald Rocco, Mary Prest and Frank Rocco. Peter was an original and proud member of Local 736 Iron Workers of Hamilton. Special thanks to everyone at Community Care Access Centre and Doctors, Nurses and Care Givers at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland County Hospital for their care and assistance of Peter. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, July 19 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, July 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME - DIXON CHAPEL, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill. Mr Benjamin Leo Cutler

of Welland , passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on July 18, 2003 in his 91st year. Beloved high school sweetheart and husband of Muriel Louise (Hodgson) for 70 years. Loving father of Raymond (Bud) Cutler and wife Luedna and daughter Rhonda Flintoft. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Tim, Cheryl, Terry, Cindy, Bunny, and Tom Cutler also Jeffrey and Teena Flintoft and many great-grandchildren. Only son of predeceased parents George and Marion (Secord) Cutler. In his early years Leo was very prominent in sports and music. He had his own sign business for over 35 years. Later in 1960, he worked as an assessor with the City of Welland and later with the provincial government until his retirement in 1976. Leo was a member of Central United Church, Welland. He was also a member of Welland Curling Club, Welland Anglers, Merritt Lodge #168 A.F & A.M., Royal Canadian Legion Branch, 334 (Arden, Ont.) His retirement days included cottage life, fishing and golf. Cremation has taken place. At Leo's request there will be no visitation. Interment of cremated remains at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Thursday ,July 24 at 2:00pm with Reverend George Schmidt officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central United Church or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the I.C.U., the Stepdown nursing staff and x-ray staff at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for all of their care and support. As well, thank you to Dr. Krass, Dr. Reddy and Dr. Harrigan. (James L. Mr William Edward D'Eath

of Niagara Falls, after a long illness died at Niagara Regional Hospital, July 23rd, 2003, at the age of 81. He will be missed by many friends and family. Husband of the late Helen D'Eath. Left to mourn is his daughter Elizabeth and Bruce Hedges, son David and Anna D'Eath and proud grandfather to David and Julie Hedges, Matthew Hedges and Michael D'Eath. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society.

Mr Matthew Craig Cole

September 27, 1974 - July 21, 2003. Adored son of Jayne and Roger LaRose. Beloved grandson of Anne Cooke. Loved deeply by his sisters, Lisa-Anne (Derrick) Allday, Amber (Larry) Cole-Berman, step-siblings Louise (Arnold) Heisler, Wayne LaRose, Leanne (Thomas) Kriens, Larry (Dianna) LaRose, Laundre LaRose, Lauren (Susie) LaRose. Matthew will be in the hearts of his Uncle Jack (Carol) Heads and his Auntie Lianne and cousins Chris and Samantha and Michelle. Matthew was everybody's "Shining Star" and was the grandchildren's "Favourite Uncle Matchew". He will be profoundly missed by Madison Allday, Courtney, Kevin, Kendall, Andrew Cole-Berman, Michael and Adam Heisler, Carly, Elijah LaRose, Joshua, Emily and Ethan LaRose. Sadly missed by Kelly, Scott and their families. Matthew touched many, many lives. He was loved by all who knew him. He was kind, gentle, thoughtful and caring. He was a "True Friend". Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted at Pelham Evangelical Friends Church, 940 Haist Street, Fonthill, on Thursday July 31st 2003 at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Matthew Chesnes officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Matthews favourite charities, Help A Child Smile, Tender Wishes or another childrens charity. James L. passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital, on August 1, 2003 Mr. Donald Sydney Smith of Welland, in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary R. H. Smith. Loving father of Don Smith and his wife Nan of Fonthill and Doug Smith and his wife Anne of Markham. Also loved by his grandchildren Mike Smith, Becky Peters and her husband Jeff, Dawna Gauci and her husband Jay and Gordon Smith. Survived by sister Muriel Smith, and brothers William Smith and Robert Smith all of Windsor. Predeceased by brother Jack Smith. Dear brother-in-law of Yvonne Read and Gilbert Williams. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Donald served for the R.C.A.F. during W.W. II. Donald retired from Welmet Industries as an Electrical Technician Supervisor. Dear sister of Brian and his wife Jody Peters of St. Catharines, Lee and his wife Norine Peters of St.Catharines, Gail Holmes of Meaford and sister-in-law of Carolyn and her husband Frank Skulj, Marilyn Yungblut and Clifford and his wife Tammy Yungblut, all of Thorold. Joanne is survived by many nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her parents Mary and Francis Peters. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday September 3rd, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James L. Also loved by his grandchildren Jeff of Welland, Cathy (Dale) Moosejaw Saskatchewan, Ron (Sue) of Wellandport, Randy (Mary), Rick (Rachelle), Roger all of Thorold, Lloyd Jr. (Bruna) of Welland, Irene (Dan) of Bethel, Julie (Dwayne) St. Catharines, Len Jr. (Tara), Tara (Jaimie) of Welland and many great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Genevieve Beamer(Vernon) of Welland and Alfred Wiley (Joyce) of Fenwick. He is survived by his sister-in-law Florence of London and his daughter-in-law Bonnie Wiley of Thorold and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lorne and Clara Wiley, son Alvin and two infant daughters, brothers John, James (Jim) and his sister-in-law Gertrude. Bill was a farmer all his life in Lincoln.
