at Niagara Health System, Welland Site, on November 22, 2003, Oren Elwood (Dick) McCombs of Welland, in his 89th year. Beloved husband to June, for 51 years and loving father of Richard McCombs, Timothy McCombs and his wife Debra and Elayne Mikkelsaar. Also loved by his grandchildren James and Amy McCombs, Brian McCombs, Matthew, David, Kailey McCombs, Erik and Michael Mikkelsaar and great grandchild Ian McCombs. Dear brother of Helen Fitzgerald, Marie Beardwood, and Clyde McCombs. Predeceased by brother Loyde McCombs of France. Oren served in the Canadian Artillery Regiment from 1939 to 1945 in France, Belgium Holland and Germany. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 & 7-9pm Monday, November 24th, at the JAMES L. at the Extended Care Unit of Welland Hospital, on Sunday November 23rd 2003. Mrs. Julia Neuner, in her 95th year. Loving mother and great missed by her daughters Julia Helstab and her husband Edmond of Fonthill and Clara Hokhold and her husband Frank of Armstrong B.C. Also loved by her grandchildren; Susan, Edmond, Judith and Nancy, Clara, Frank and Andrew and her great-grandchildren Genevieve, Joseph and Lauren, Patricia, Kimmy and Shelly, Frank and Maria. Predeceased by her husband Frank and her parents and brother in Hungary. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Tuesday November 25th at the JAMES L. at The Henley House, St. Catharines, on Tuesday November 25th 2003 Mrs. Helen Louise (Wilson) Marquis of St. Catharines, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late James Norris Marquis (1970). Predeceased by her sisters Muriel Bell, Belva L. Holditch, Fannie E. Kemp, Edith M. Shannon and her brother Herbert E. Wilson. Survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Mrs. Marquis was a member of St. Paul Street United Church in St. Catharines for many years. Visitation at the JAMES L. Mrs Heidi Marie "Karge" Gecse

at Niagara Health System, St. Catharines Site, on Thursday, October 16, 2003, Heidi Gecse of Fonthill, in her 62nd year. Beloved wife of Alex and loving mother of Tom Gecse and his wife Kelley of Welland, Andy Gecse and his wife Mary of St. Catharines and Mike Gecse and his wife Carol of Kitchener. Also loved by her grandchildren Anthony, Sarah and Jonathon. Dear sister of Rosemary Kessler of Fonthill and Linda Prozenko and her husband Henry of Udora. Survived by her mother-in-law Elizabeth Gecse in Hungary, sister-in-law Elizabeth Fodor also in Hungary and several nieces and nephews all in Europe and Canada. Dear father of Beverley Haun-Moss and her husband John of Peterborough, Mark Haun of Fonthill and step-father of Carol VanAlstine and her late husband Jack VanAlstine of Fenwick, Ken Martin and his wife Marilyn of Ridgeville and Kathryn Silkiewycz of Fonthill. Also loved by his grandchildren, Mallory, Scott, Mark, Bob, Jennifer, Craig, Rachel and Nathan. "You were loved by all of us." Jack was a Long time member of Fonthill Baptist Church and a former member of the Welland Flying Club. Beloved husband of the late Sallee (1988). Dear father of Donna Rae Leatherdale abd her husband Ben of Mooretown. Loving grandfather of Wendy Crawford and her husband Gary of mooretown. Also survived by his nephews, Doug Martin and his wife Martha of Calgary and John McIntyre and his wife Lori of Komoka; his nieces, Jean Goldie and her husband Hugh of Saskatoon and Andrea McIntyre and her companion Ray Poitoer of Appin. Predeceased by his sisters Edna and Leta. Ray was a co-founder of the St. John's Volunteer Fire Department nd served as Secretary-Treasurer for over 50 years and he was a retired Market Gardener. Loving mother of Dianne Gunter (Jim) of Fonthill, David Fitkowski (Gale) of Simcoe, Bill Fitkowski of Bowmanville and Peter Fitkowski (Peggy) of Chippawa. Also loved by her grandchildren Dana, Charles, Tony, Carrie, Bryce, Rachael, Joseph and predeceased by her grandson Nicolas. Dear sister of Elsie Couchmen (and her late husband Bert) of Welland. Mr Douglas Ray Culp

"He was my love, he was my life and my strength, we shared 24 years together and have three beautiful children". It is with sorrow that Laura, Crystal, Greg and Zac announce the passing of a beloved husband and father, at St. Catharines General Hospital, on Monday October 27th 2003. Doug Culp of Fonthill, in his 52nd year. Predeceased by his parents Herb and Wyn Culp. Survived by Martin and Lois Culp of Fonthill, Pat and Brian Gale of Fonthill, Steve and Patricia Culp of Burlington, Bob and Sue Culp of St. Catharines and several nieces, nephews and their families. Son-in-law of Olga Travis of Welland and brother-in-law of Sam and Carol Travis, Guy and Estelle Travis, Cindy and Jerry Vanstone all of Welland and their families. He enjoyed many years as a Scout Leader with the 9th Welland Scout Troop. Laura would like to thank Dr. Thomas Nolan and the St. Catharines General ICU for all their special care and the Toronto General Hospital ICU. Ian John Wiliam Saunders

Peacefully at his residence on Saturday August 3, 2002 Ian Saunders of RR#1 Ridgeville in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Leila (Jackson) Saunders and loving father of Allan, Stan and Glen. He will fondly be remembered by his three grandaughters Karly, Brianne and Andrea. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and William Saunders, one brother Rodney and daughter Corinne. Ian worked for the Welland Parks Department from 1983 until 1994. He was a member of the Fenwick I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Oddfellows) for 25 years. He was a member of St. David's Anglican Church Welland. The family will receive friends at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME-DIXON CHAPEL, 1292 Pelham Street Fonthill, Tuesday August 6, 2002 from 3 pm. until the time of the service in the chapel at 4pm. Cremation to follow. Suddenly at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday November 4th 2003. Loving husband and best friend of Margaret (nee Haist). Cherished father of Judith Anne Peters and a special grandpa to Sarah, Ryan, Ashley, Alexa, Joshua and Connor. Warren will be sadly missed by his brother David. Beloved wife of John and loving mother of James Hennessy and his wife Catherine and their son Ben of London England, Karen Teare and her son Jesse of Calgary. Loving daughter of Ann Fedikow of Welland and predeceased by her father John Svirzovsky. Dear step-mother of Steve, Siobhan, Frances, Peter and their families. Dear sister of Mary Ann Robinson and her husband John of Ottawa. Nancy was the Area Supervisor of Statistics Canada, a devoted member of St. Alexander's Catholic Church serving on the Parish Council and as Eucharistic Minister. She was very involved in the CIBC Run For The Cure and the Breast Cancer Foundation. Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 pm Saturday October 4th and 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Mr Ian Micheal Hildebrand

It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our son Ian, in his 18th year. Survived by his devoted parents Les and Marsha Hildebrand, beloved grandson of Trudy Hildebrand, the late Henry Hildebrand, and the late Frank and Anna Hagar. Nephew/cousin of Joan, and the late Murray Dunn, Jennifer, Richard and Tyler Dunn, Maggie Hildebrand and Tony, Amanda and Melissa Lucciola, Ken and Lou Hildebrand, Carol and Mike Koblyka, Irene, Harold, Nolan and Shelby Hagar, Fred, Lisa, Josh, and Jessie Hildebrand, Bob, Robin and Matthew Hildebrand, Joyce Hildebrand and Steve. Ian was a kindhearted and gentle soul who embraced life despite having some major obstacles to overcome. He had been a member of the Niagara Symphony Music School for several summers, Pelham Cub and Scout Pack, E.L. Crossley Concert Band and Sugarloaf Sailing Club. He earned his purple belt at the Joe Fournier DoJo. Ian loved skiing with his friends in the terrain park at Holiday Valley, fishing, swimming and of course the hottub. Ian loved animals both domestic and wild, especially the ones up at Lake 96. His pride and joy was his 1989 Chrysler Le Baron convertible. Ian never accepted failure. He would just say I'll have to do better the next time. He is now driving with his angels. Friends will be received by the family from 3-5 & 7-9 Thursday October 30th 2003 and Friday 2-4 pm. only at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME - DIXON CHAPEL, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill, where the complete funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday, November 1st at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Karen (Ed), Dave (MaryAnn), Cindy, Brian (Jackie), Jason (Sarah), Kim (Troy), Jerry (Melita) and great-grandchildren Emily, Myles, Meggen, Lauren, Brock, Mackenzie, Trent, Kyle, Rowan and Holly. Dear brother of Dora Lymburner of Port Colborne. He was predeceased by two brothers Leaming and Robert Reid and two sisters Gertrude Stickles and Emma Bishop.
