Michael Bodnar

BODNAR, Michael - passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the SAH Plummer Site at the age of 80. Beloved husband of the late Anne. Caring and loving father of Joyce Hogan (Bryan), Terry (Denise), Larry (Elizabeth) and Janice Dolcetti (Jerry). Proud and cherished Gigi of Taylor, Kyle, David, Stephanie, Natalie, Alison, Michael, Blaine and Colin (Lindsi). Brother of the late Stella and Speed Kurilovich. Brother in law of Judy Nesom (George), John Zabolotny (Shirley) and Louise Joyce (Gordon). Special Unky to Joan Tombari (Gerry), Lynne Allen (Phil) and to many nieces and nephews. Life-long friend to Tom Kozak and Speed Zeppa. Friends may call at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church (St. George's Avenue) on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 6-8 pm. Panachyda (prayers) at 6 pm. Funeral mass from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 10 am. Rev. Jaroslaw Lazoryk officiating. Interment Greenwood cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family. A sincere thank you to Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Brooks, Dr. Mathur, Dr. Torbiak and the caring staff of Palliative and Complex Continuing Care at the Plummer Hospital and for all the numerous prayers of family and friends especially the Monday Night Bible Study Group. Nettie Dyck

DYCK, Nettie - passed away Monday, October 23, 2006, aged 93 years. Born March 27, 1913 in Osterwick, Ukraine to Wilhelm and Angenetha Dueck. In March 1931 she and Gerhard Dyck were married by Rev. Wiens in Osterwick. On Pentecost, 1931, Nettie was baptized by D. Epp. In 1943 the family left Russia and immigrated to Canada in 1948. The family lived several years in Morden, Manitoba before finally settling in Burlington, Ontario. Nettie was a loving wife and mother. A skillful gardener, each Sunday she decorated the pulpit at Mountview Mennonite Brethren Church in Stoney Creek. She loved to crochet and always had a project on the go. She was an avid reader in both English and German. Through all the challenges in her life, Nettie trusted in her Lord for guidance and comfort. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerhard, daughter Erna and sister Margarete in Ukraine. She is mourned by sons Jake (Lori), George (Irene) and daughter Kathy (Carl) Steele, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, as well as a brother William (Helen) Dueck of Morden, Manitoba, nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends at Faith Christian Reformed Church, 2265 Mountainside Dr., Burlington, Ontario on Thursday, October 26th from 5 - 7 pm and again on Friday, October 27th from 10 - 11 am with the Funeral Service immediately following. Interment Vineland cemetery.

Jennifer Anne Walker

WALKER, Jennifer Anne - Suddenly on Oct. 24 2006 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved daughter of Marilyn and Norris Walker and devoted mother of Christopher, Heather, Luke and Tanya. Dear sister of Elizabeth (Steven) Casper of Newhope Pa. and Sheila (Robert) Bonapace Skillman NJ. Special aunt of Kristen and David Casper and Spencer and Brittany Bonapace. Jennifer dedicated her life to her children while developing and nurturing their many talents and interests. Jennifer was a graduate of Ridley College, St. Catharines and Eastern College, Pennsylvania. Many thanks to the caring staff at the ICU of the Hamilton General Hospital. Their care and empathy were beyond expectations. Jennifer's family will receive their family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Jennifer's life will be held on Friday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Ridley College Chapel on Henrietta St. in St. Catharines. Memorial remembrances for Jennifer may be directed to the Development Office of Hillfield Strathallan College Scholarship Fund, 299 Fennell Ave. W., Hamilton, ON L9C 1G3 (attn: Advancement Office) and would be appreciated by the family.

Florence Brink

BRINK, Florence – after a brief illness at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, October 24th, 2006 in her 63rd year. Daughter of Marten VanDyk and the late Elizabeth VanDyk. Beloved wife of Frank Brink of Bayside. Loving mother of Susan (Donald) Noble of Waterville, NS, Elizabeth (Ray) Hildebrandt of St. Catharines, Mark (Darlene) Brink of Calgary and Sheri (Dan) Reader of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren. Florence is survived by her siblings James Y (Grace) VanDyk, George (Carol) VanDyk, Hilda (George) Feddema, Margaret (Gary) TenBrink, Martin (Hattie) VanDyk, JoAnne (Julius) deJager and John (Elizabeth) VanDyk. Friends are invited to call at the STEELE FUNERAL HOME, Moira Street Chapel (30 Moira Street West, 613 968-2273) on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Maranatha Church (72 Orchard Drive) on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Elmwood cemetery. If desired, Memorial Donations to Christian Reformed World Relief Committee would be appreciated by the family.

Dear brother of Horrace, Gordon, Edward, Stanley, Anthony, Wayne, David, Doreen Franhauser (Morgan), Lorna Souvard. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Emma Morgan. Predeceased by his brother Harold, and sisters Pearl Hovencamp, Lynda Cox, Ruth Yates, and Dulice Morgan. KELLY, Doris Marie - (May 28, 1919 - October 25, 2006) Surrounded by her family at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg, at the age of 87. Doris (nee Lloyd) wife of the late John Joseph Kelly. Loving mother of Jack (Rosella), Carolyn Cross (the late Manley), Judy (Murray McCleary), Hugh, Paul (Susan), Joanne, Kathy Bockelkamp, Doug, Greg, Peter (Joan), Frank, Colleen (Rick Jansen), Ted, Angela (Greg Bourne) and Yvonne (Don Rogoza). Sister-in-law of Bob Kelly (Marie) and Dorothy Brownscombe. Mrs. Kelly will also be missed by 36 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Larry (Shirley Davidson), and grandson Bryan. A funeral service will be held at the MACCOUBREY FUNERAL HOME 30 King St., East, Cobourg, on Saturday October 28 at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Jerome cemetery , Warkworth. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donation s by cheque to the Parkinson Society Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society.

Brother of Chris Van Riel of Belgium and uncle to nephews and nieces in the Netherlands. At the request of the family there will be no funeral service. Muriel Avery

AVERY, Muriel - 1919-2006 - Muriel Elizabeth Avery, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away quietly on Monday, October 23, 2006, at a nursing home near her son in Houston, Texas at the age of 87. Mrs. Avery was born September 26, 1919, in Perth, Scotland and moved to Canada with her family where they settled in St. Catharines Ontario Canada. She met and married Forrest G. Avery and they eventually moved to Texarkana, Texas where she worked for Wadley Regional Medical Center until her retirement. During her many years at Wadley, she served as hostess and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary “the Pink Ladies“. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest G. Avery, her sister Sheena Hill and her brother Ian MacGugan. She is survived by her son David and daughter-in-law Patricia Avery of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Kevin Leonard of College Station, Texas; nieces, Laurie Napolin of Delaware, Joyce Avery of Ontario, Canada; and nephews John and Jeffrey Hill of Ontario, Canada; Douglas MacGugan of Bellevue, Washington and Rob MacGugan of Southgate, Michigan and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday October 27, 2006. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Texarkana Funeral Home Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel on Texas Blvd. with the Rev. Russell A. Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2623 N. Robison Rd., Texarkana, Texas, 75501, or to the charity of your choice.

STINSON, Carl Sherman - Entered into rest at the Belleville General Hospital on Thursday, October 26, 2006. Carl Stinson in his 67th year. Son of the late George and Marion Stinson. Loving husband of Monna Stinson. Loving father of Christine Enright (John) Stirling and Charlene Labelle (Ron) of Belleville. Loving Poppa of Meghan, Austin, and Erika. Dear brother of Wayne Stinson (Kelly) of Pickering, Helen Anderson (Bob Hough) of Belleville, and Paul Stinson (Barb) of Belleville. Predeceased by sister Marlene Stinson. Also loved by mother-in-law Laura Cassidy of Foxboro. Dear brother-in-law of Pauline Spratt, Ken Cassidy (Teresa) all of Foxboro, and Donna Ford of Belleville. Predeceased by brother-in-law Allen Cassidy (Pat). Sadly missed by Uncle Jack and Aunt Gina Stinson. Loved by many nieces and nephews.
