MISENER, Gertrude (neé Shannon) - It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude Misener announces her passing on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Stanley; parents Alonzo and Muriel Shannon; sisters Ada, Mary and Marion and brothers Orrie, Roy and Dalton. She will be fondly remembered by her daughter Bernice (Robert) Piche of Kirkland Lake and step son Clifford (Jeannette) Misener of Rainbow Lake. Gertrude was the cherished grandmother of Kim (Louis) Gauthier of Kirkland Lake and Sheri (Landon) Bailey of Ottawa and beloved great grandmother to Devin, Danika and Kalev. She is also survived by her step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gertrude had been a resident of Sesekinika (Rainbow Lake) since 1945. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home (450 Government Rd. West, Kirkland Lake, ON. 705-567- 3565) on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the “Teck-Hughes Chapel” of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Gertrude will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake cemetery in the spring. Donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to Extendicare Kirkland Lake and Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation.

WOOD, Phyllis - In loving memory of Mrs. Phyllis Wood, formerly of Englehart, who passed away at the Extendicare Nursing Home in Kirkland Lake, on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the age of 79. Pre-deceased by her husband Gordon, December 3, 2006. She is survived by 3 daughters, Robin and her husband Howard Pratt of Kenogami, Laurie and her husband Bryan Clark of Kirkland Lake, Debbie and her husband David Garnham of Bothwell, 6 grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Stephanie Murray, Jared Pratt, Jillian Schooley, Aaron Garnham, Gailyn Gerber and 6 great grandchildren. Also 1 sister Carol Hall of Welland. The family of the late Mrs. Phyllis Wood will receive friends at the MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, Englehart, Monday, March 12, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9. Funeral Service will be held at Englehart Gospel Hall on Tuesday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment at the Englehart cemetery. CULP, Ethel Mae - passed away at St. Catharines General Hospital on March 10, 2007. Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Myrtle Culp. Dear sister of Bruce and the late Lorne, predeceased by their spouses Dorothy and Kathleen. Loving aunt of Stephen, Raymond, Cheryl and Cyndi. Special great-aunt of Katie, Beckie, Brent, Alison, Alex and Tyler. Ethel will be fondly remembered by all her special friends. She was a long time resident of St. Catharines and was Head Nurse at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Special thank you to Dr. D. Walser-Jebb. FISHER, Charles Lloyd - Peacefully with the Lord, on Saturday, March 10, 2007 in his 84th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Johnstone (1998) and daughter Barbara Jean (1998). Loving father of Beverley Fisher McIlvride. Survived by his brother William (Billy) and his wife Gloria, and sister-in-law Peggy Fisher Shaver. Predeceased by brothers Gordon, Morgan, Fred and sister Helen. Also survived by many relatives and friends. Mr. Fisher was employed by English Electric, Columbus McKinnon and Brock University, and was a long time member of Facer St. Baptist Church. Service for Mr. Fisher will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684- 6346). Interment will follow in Victoria Lawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Charles Lloyd, Mary and Barbara can be made to Paddington Partners, c/o Alexandra School, 84 Henry Street, St. Catharines, Ontario L2R 5V4, or a charity of your choice.

Harriett Elizabeth Franks

FRANKS, Harriett Elizabeth - May eternal rest be granted to Harriett Franks who passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at St. Peter's Hospital in her 88th year. Wife of the late Edward Warren Franks (February 1988). Harriett is survived by her daughter Connie Buis and son-in-law Adrian Buis and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Albert Waldron, sisters May DeYoung and Nettie Obee. A special thank you to the staff at St. Peter's Hospital for the love and care they have given Harriett over the past five years. At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Frank Green

GREEN, Frank - passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side at the Port Colborne Hospital on Sunday, March 11, 2007 in his 81st year. Loving husband of 55 years to Carrie Green of Port Colborne. Dear father of Barry (Sharon) of Hinton, Alberta and Judy LaBelle (Bryan) of Mississauga, ON. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Janice Peake (Jamie) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Jennifer Green of Hinton, Alberta, Jennifer LaBelle of Formosa, Ontario. Frank will also be missed by his great-grandchildren Sydney and Rhett Peake, Benjamin and Abigail LaBelle. He is survived by his sisters Jessie Williams, Florence Durnford (Harry), brothers Roy Green (June) of Parry Sound, Eric Green (Joyce) all of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Lloyd Green (Shirley) of Moncton, New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews as well. He is predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Lorraine Green, parents Wilson and Jessie Green and sister Sarah Hillier of Newfoundland. Frank worked at INCO for 32 years. He was a lifetime member and volunteer at Central United Church in Port Colborne. The Green Family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Central United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steven Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood cemetery , Wainfleet. If so desired memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Port Colborne Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.

Darleene Morningstar

MORNINGSTAR, Darleene - passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 11, 2007, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Richard (2005) and by her sister Virginia Kruger (2005). She will be remembered by sister-in-law Marlene Cozocar (Bill) and sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her friends and co-workers from Linhaven and Dr. Leung, Dr. Kim, Dr. Giesbrecht and Dr. Hartman. Also thank you to CCAC Niagara and to the Oncology Staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital. She will be sadly missed by Jackson. MUNDIER, Bridget - Wife of the late Arthur “Pete“ Mundier. passed away with her family at her side on Sunday March 11, 2007 at the age of 78. Beloved mother of Salli (Don) MacDonald, Cathy (Jim) Husser and Connie (Paul) Tiller. Cherished grandmother of Lisa (John) Steward, Chris (Sonia) Tiller, Michael (Amy) Tiller, Daniel (Laura) Husser and wonderful GG of Jack, Grayson and Carter. Bridget is also survived by her sisters Kate, Dorothy, Helen, Joan, brother Phil, sister-in-law Joan and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Pete (1994), grandson Jeffrey Husser (1995), parents Rocky and Nellie Whelan and siblings Anne Jackman, Pat Hurley, Isabelle Holland and Bernard Whelan. Bridget will certainly be missed by all her family and friends. Bridget was a member of St. Patrick's Parish where she was active in the C.W.L., a Eucharistic Minister and a Care Team member whose visits to homes and hospitals were eagerly anticipated and greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. J. Morin and the doctors and nursing staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital for the care and comfort they provided. Resting at the FUNERAL CHAPEL OF HETHERINGTON & DEANS until 9 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday March 14, 2007 at 10 a.m. The Rite of Committal will follow in Fairview cemetery. Margaret (nee Joly) Myre

MYRE, Margaret (nee Joly) - Peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday, March 11th, 2007 at West Park Health Centre, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond “Roma“ Myre (1982). Loved mother of Bill (Darlene), Dorothy (Tom) Cooper, Terry (Barb), Gary (Debbie), Dennis (Janet) and Karen (Chuck) Robins. Dear grandmother of 17. Great grandmother of 32 and great great grandmother of 9. Predeceased by three of her grandchildren, brother Bob (Irene) Joly and sister Barb (Victor) Dupelle. Margaret was a long time member of St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church in Thorold. She was a great lady that loved her music and enjoyed singing. The family will receive friends at the HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Tuesday from 11:00 to 12:00 noon. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 13th at 12:00 noon. Interment at Lakeview cemetery , Thorold.

PRICE, Keith - Surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness and a hard fought battle on Friday, March 9, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 55th year. Beloved son to Joyce and the late Derek (1963). Loving brother to Brian. Cherished uncle to Shawn and Shannon. Survived by many family members, close friends and his cat Mitsy. A special thanks to Dr. Dennis Whitty for his compassion and support towards Keith and family friends Dave and Monica. Keith is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street until 11am. A celebration of Keith's life will be held in the George Darte Funeral Chapel on Saturday March 24, 2007 at 11:30am. WHEELER, Captain Charles - Suddenly on Sunday March 11, 2007 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 58th year with his loving family by his side. Loving husband to Sandra for over 36 years. Devoted dad to Stella, Patrick and his girlfriend Jessica and Rob. Survived by his parents George Sr. and Noreen. Lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters George (Jan), Suzanne Sawatsky (Ralph) of Niagara Falls, Neen Bedford (Wayne) of Fenwick, Kathryn Reynolds, James, Robert (Monique) all of St. Catharines. Also survived by his brothers-in-law Bob (Debbie) Wittig, Bill (Diane) Wittig, James Wittig, Chris (Alison) Wittig and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents-in-law Wilf and Gloria Wittig and nephew Reco. Charles is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street until Thursday at 10:30 am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Denis Church, 230 Lake Street. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30pm. Cremation will follow the church service. As an expression of sympathy, memorial, remembrances may be made to either the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario in Charlie's honour.

Dear mother of Maria Rosa and her husband John Correia, Maria Eduarda and her husband Tony Mota and Evaristo Araujo and his wife Rosarinha. Dear grandmother of Germana, Helen, John, Natalie, Theresa, Ashley, Ted, Jason, Sandy and Melisa and also survived by 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Araujo is at the Niagara St. Chapel of BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Niagara St. where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Church on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. The Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn cemetery. William Michael (Bill) Byspalko

BYSPALKO, William Michael (Bill) - September 25, 1946 - March 8, 2007 - passed away peacefully Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital with his only son Jim (and Tammy) by his side, after a long battle with emphysema and throat cancer. Predeceased by his wife Violet, March 6, 1998. He is survived by his sister Jane. He will be missed by nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Will be dearly missed by brothers Bob (Carol) Bishop, Brian (Linda) Bishop and by her sister Lou-Ann (Doug) Hicks and her many loving nieces and nephews. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her best friend Janice Laliberte. Dearly beloved wife and best friend of the late Anne (Andrew) Boekema. Loving mother of Sietske and Gerard. Grandmother of Laurie Anne and Shelley and lovingly remembered by Stephen, Diana, Ernie and Marc. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held in “The Chapel on The Corner“ at the ROBERT J. REID & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 309 Johnson Street, (at Barrie Street), Kingston, Ontario on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Private Interment will be held at Cataraqui cemetery.
