Alfred Mohr

MOHR, Alfred - With peace and dignity, and with his wife and son at his bedside, Alfred Mohr passed away on April 23, 2007 at the Trillium Specialty Care Center at the age of 82. Alfred courageously fought Parkinson's disease for the past 11 years. Alfred is survived by is wife of 57 years, Gertrude Mohr (Kingston, Ontario), his son, Steven Mohr (Calgary, Alberta), predeceased by his daughter-in-law Claire Mohr), and brother & sister-in-law, Gerhard & Elfriede Schuckert (Kingston, Ontario). Respected by all and admired by many, he will be sorely missed by those who knew him and his family that loved him. May he be in God's graces. Thank you to all the wonderful caring staff at Trillium, and especially to Nancy Dewar, whose caring and commitment ensured the best quality of life possible. To honor Alfred's wishes, there will not be a visitation or Funeral Service. Donations would be appreciated, and may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory. Sathiyabam Ratnasabapathy

RATNASABAPATHY, Sathiyabam - Mrs. Sathiyabama Ratnasabapathy of Kingston, Ontario died peacefully on Saturday 21st April 2007 in Sydney, Australia. She is the beloved wife of the late Rasiah Ratnasabapathy, loving mother of Ilankovan (Toronto), Ilancheyan (North Carolina), Anushya (California), beloved mother-in-law of Meena (North Carolina), Anujan (California) and the grandmother of Myilan and Shantala. Last rites will be held according to Hindu customs on the 28th April 2007, prior to the cremation at 12 noon at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Sydney, Australia. Guardian Funerals corner of Sunnyhold Road and First Avenue, Blacktown, NSW 2148 Australia.

Elvena Ellen May Rickaby

RICKABY, Elvena Ellen May - Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in her 84th year. Elvena (nee Lyons), born in Pittsburgh Township and a life time resident of Kingston, was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Rickaby. Loving mother of Barbara Savary (Tom) of Morewood, and Douglas Rickaby (Carol) of Cobourg. Also fondly remembered by her three dear grandsons, Thomas Savary Jr. (Trish), Douglas Savary (Debbie) and Jamie Savary (Pamela), precious granddaughter Barbara Rickaby and great grandson William John Savary. Survived by brother Clarence Lyons (Pansy) of Glenburnie, and by many nieces and nephews. Elvena is predeceased by her parents, John Noble Lyons and Emiline J. Brown, brothers Noble, Karl and Elmer Lyons and sisters Roline Woodstock, Mildred Bilow, Thelma Guigue and Aeletha Lyons. Resting at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, CATARAQUI CHAPEL (1900 John Counter Boulevard). Friends will be received on Friday, April 27, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service at ST. MARK'S ANGLICAN CHURCH (268 Main Street, Barriefield), on Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Eric Reynolds and The Venerable Wayne Varley officiating. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Mark's Anglican Church, Barriefield or University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (K.G.H.), in Mrs. Rickaby's memory. BARBEAU, Ruth - Passed away at Ina Grafton Gage Village on Monday, April 16, 2007 at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late E. John (Jack) Barbeau. Cherished mother of Deanna and her husband Len Kaplan of Land O' Lakes, Florida; Douglas Barbeau and his wife Elizabeth of Calgary, Alberta. Loving grandmother of Susan Hardy, Pam Schmidt and her husband Tony, Sarah Connell and Matt, Paul Barbeau and his wife Catharine, Meg Anderson and Doug, Kate Thomson and her husband Quinn, Alison Barbeau and Emma Barbeau. Special great-grandmother of 10. Sister of Bernard Russell and his wife Bobbie. As per Ruth's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Ina Grafton Gage, 413 Linwell Avenue on Saturday April 28, 2007 at 1 p.m. A private family interment will be held in Victoria Lawn Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband Jack. In lieu of flowers donations in Ruth's memory can be made to the Ina Grafton Gage Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis Society and would be greatly appreciated by her family. Thomas Hamilton

HAMILTON, Thomas 1919 - 2007 - It is with great sadness that the family of Tom announce his passing at Chateau Gardens N.O.T.L. on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the age of 88. Cherished husband of Betty Hamilton (nee Levitt, Graham) for 62 years. Loved father of son Roger Graham (Kay) of St. Catharines, daughters Heather Beleny (Vic) of Welland and Starr Macpherson (Dan) of St. Catharines. Dear grandfather of Robin (Rob) West, Emily Macpherson, Daniel Beleny and Thomas Beleny. Great grandfather of Joshua and Jakob West. Tom will be missed by his brother James Hamilton of St. Catharines. Predeceased by his grandson Scott Graham (1997) and his sister Helen Bye. Tom was employed at General Motors Engine Plant and retired in 1976. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service with interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens to take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the entire staff and residents of Chateau Garden N.O.T.L. and Dr. D. Reimer for their excellent care and support. Joseph Prosper

PROSPER, Joseph - After a courageous effort with cancer on Tuesday April 17, 2007 at the Toronto General Hospital in his 62nd year with his loving family by his side. Devoted husband to Vera for over 35 years. Cherished father to Ivy, Joe of Toronto, Isabel and Ricki both of Vancouver. Survived by his mother Julie and predeceased by his father Christian, many nieces, nephews and family members. Joseph displayed the truest characteristics of a Christian through his love, respect and optimism towards others. Joe was a loyal and hard working employee of General Motors for 29 years where he ended his career as a supervisor. Mr. Prosper is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, Ontario until Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 p.m. in St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street. Graveside committal will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens following the church service. Visiting hours are Thursday 7-9 p.m .and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Memorial remembrances may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation in the name of Prosper Research Fund Raiser.

RUSH, Meghan Alysa Brittany - Peacefully surrounded by her family at McMaster Medical Centre, Meghan's long and courageous battle ended on Wednesday April 18, 2007. Meghan in her 18th year, is the loving daughter and special angel of Angela (Randy) and Gerald (Lanette). The Best Big Sister to Caitlin and Ian. Future step sisters Lindsey, Courtney, Brittany and Zoë. Very special granddaughter of Ida and the late Bill Glancie, Rena and Gerry Rush, and Gina and the late Ralph Patterson. Great grand daughter of Isa Brown and the late John Brown. Meghan will always be loved and remembered by her aunts and uncles, Todd (LeighAnn) Glancie, Jeff (Karen) Glancie, Pam (Brian) Archer, Karen (Patrick) Malleret, Wendy (Stephen) Laws, Michael (Nicole) Rush , Linda (Sam) Mahon, Vincent and the late Marie Rush. Extended Aunts and Uncles, Colette (Phil), Neil (Jen), Gino (Kelly) and Susan (Sean). She will also be sadly missed by her many cousins, special friends and extended family. WELCH, Mary Anne (nee Galway) - Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Mary Anne passed away Thurs. Apr. 19th at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in her 71st year. Beloved wife of the late Barney Welch (1996). Loving mother of Dale (predeceased in 1997), Lynda (Al) Sellen, Tim (Sherri) Welch, Susan Sawicki (Darryn) and Heidi Dickinson. Sister of Pat Galway (Marianne) and Kelly Galway (Linda). Loving Grandmother of 6 Grandchildren, Darcy, Aaron, Kathleen, Benjamin, Jordan and Rachel. Mary Anne had many great friends who will sadly miss her. A very special family who helped Mary Anne in her long journey with cancer, the Fortis Family - Denis, Georgia, Amy and Andy. Thank you to all the nurses on the 2nd floor of the Hotel Dieu Shaver. Visitation for Mary Anne will be held at PATRICK J. WIEBE, Margaret (Margie) Irene - Peacefully, at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, April 20, 2007, Margie went to be with her Lord. She was 73 years of age. Beloved wife of John for 51 years and dear mother of Richard (Ruth) Wiebe of St. Catharines and Shelly (Nelson) Plett of Calgary. Loved grandmother of Daniel (Renita), Alaina, Jaime, Olivia and Chayce. Sister of Helen (Ralph) Teigrob, Bob (Hazel) Reimer and John (Ruth) Reimer. Family and friends will be received at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Sunday 2:30 - 4:30 and 7 - 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church, 455 Geneva St., St. Catharines Monday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. with interment following at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. BERZINS, Viesturs “Willie” - Peacefully and surrounded by his family at his home on Wednesday April 18th, 2007 in his 81st year. Beloved wife of Gunta (Press) Berzins of Niagara Falls. Loving father of Arnis Berzins and Maira Berzins and her husband Doug Jackson all of Niagara Falls. Dear grandfather of Katie and Ben. Brother of Uldis, Agris, Vaira, Laijma and Ruta. Willie was a highly skilled technician, whose passion was German and European engineered automobiles. He was retired from Performance Auto in St. Catharines. Resting at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, Victoria Avenue, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Saturday April 21st, 2007 at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment will follow at Lundys Lane Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, in memoriam contributions to the St. Catharines General Hospital, Oncology Unit would be appreciated.

Ronald Findlay

FINDLAY, Ronald – beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, suddenly left us on April 15, 2007 in his 88th year. He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 61 years, Catherine on April 2, 2007; beloved father of Cathie and loving grandfather adored by Lucas and Julian, all of Northfield, Massachusetts. Also survived by sister-in-law Elizabeth Zoochkan as well as niece Donny Wyke and husband Wayne and their children and nephew Bill Zoochkan, all of Winnipeg, niece Yvonne Danchuk & family of Regina and nephew Brian Findlay & family of Sioux Lookout and dear & loyal family friend of Ron & Catherine, Sandy Stokes of Fonthill. Ronald is predeceased by his parents, Walter & Grace Findlay, 4 brothers & 1 sister and sister-in-law Doris May (2000) and her husband Ernest May (1985) and brother-in-law John Zoochkan (2006). He was employed for some 37 years as a master industrial electrician at Atlas Steels. During the Second World War Ronald bravely served his country heroically overseas for four years in Italy, Holland and the Mediterranean campaigns with the Royal Canadian Artillery. A private family interment has taken place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, but friends are invited to attend a memorial service in May, with date, time and place to be announced in a future edition of The Tribune. Loving father of Maurice (Marie) of Michigan, Gary of Windsor and stepson Alfie Martineau (Roxanne) of Port Colborne. Dear brother of Gisele. He will be fondly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Madison, Michael, Courtenay, Casey and Erin. Predeceased by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Emile Montambault and his brother Ernie Montambault. In accordance with Jean Guy's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be conducted by Father Normand Bourdages from St. Kevin's Parish Church on Friday, April 20th at 11 a.m. in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
