PEDERSEN (nee Simonsen) - Margot
It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Margot at North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Harold Pedersen and loving mother of Per, North Bay; Sven (Marlene), Redbridge; Ingrid, North Bay; Lisa Kramp (Lee), New Liskeard; and Cynthia Stewart (James), North Bay. She is predeceased by her parents Ingnore and Albert, brother Einar and lovingly remembered by her sisters Astrid Vinje, Ruth Fjermedal, Solveig Borgen, and Allis Hansen (Norway), as well as her 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Margot was born in Kristiansand S., Norway, met and married Harold in 1945 during his WWII service with the Royal Norwegian Airforce and moved to his home in Canada in February 1947. Margot devoted her life to making a home for Harold and raising her 5 children. Admired for her artistic talents, sewing, needlework, fine home cooking, and famous birthday cakes, Margot retained her Norwegian customs and passed on many traditions to her children and grandchildren. She was a true lady whose grace and elegance has touched us all and will be a part of us forever. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church on Saturday at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Margot.

SULLIVAN (nee Dedman) - Barbara
It is with sadness that Barbara's family announce her passing on Friday, October 22, 2004, at Nipissing Manor after a lengthy illness, she was 59 years old. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband Garry and son Shane Sullivan. Her brother Jack Dedman and his wife Leone and special Aunt Eunice Phillips will also sadly miss her. Predeceased by her parents Graham and Isabelle Dedman. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until the Memorial Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, her family will gratefully acknowledge donations to the Nipissing Manor Auxiliary.

THOMPSON - Dr. G. Douglas
Douglas Thompson, in his 74th year, in hospital on Monday, October 4th, 2004, after saying goodbye to his loved ones. These include his long time companion Vicki MacDonald, children Shari Kajiura (Dennis), Heather Klein (Larry), Paul Thompson, and Kathryn Wearring (Matthew), grandchildren Kathleen, Peter, Tommy, and amie Klein, Mitchel and Lindsay Kajiura, Bronwyn and Bevan Wearring, Vicki's children Jaye Donaldson, Roni McWilliam, Dan MacDonald (Christa), and grandchildren Paul, Jylian and Joey Mazza, Michael McWilliam, and Briar and Devon MacDonald. Cremation has taken place. The Thompson family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERLA HOME (across from city hall) on Saturday October 30th, 2004 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A private family committal service will follow in the Terrace Lawn cemetery.

If desired donations to Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, or to Hospice Wellington will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

HAWKINS - Craig Norman
Died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, May 12, 2003. Craig Hawkins, was the beloved father of Shawn and his wife Bobbie-Jo of Sudbury and Craig Jr. and his wife Sabrina of Garson. Lovingly remembered by his grandsons Tyler and Austin. Loving son of Colene Hawkins of Callander, predeceased by his father Norm in November of 2003. Dearly loved by his siblings Tom Hawkins and his wife Debbie and Jane Anne and her husband Rick Dobbs all of North Bay, their children Richard, Tommy Hawkins, and Melinda & Keith Dobbs, and his great niece & nephews Casandra, Jordon, Kendra, Kayla. Craig's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, May 15th from 10:00 am until time for services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation will take place at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

CROGHAN - Dorcas Bertha
Died peacefully, while in her 75th year, on Tuesday, May 11th, 2004, at the North Bay General Hospital with her beloved family at her side. Dorcas Bertha Hall was predeceased by her husband Milton Weber Croghan. Loved and adored by her children, Dorcas will be sadly missed by her daughters Valerie, Nora, and Shelley all of North Bay and Bonnie Stillert (John) of Sault St. Marie, and sons Milton (Frances) and Michael also of North Bay, Barry of British Columbia and Jeffrey of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother David (Isabel) and sister Coreen both of Ottawa. Predeceased by brothers Stanley & Bill. A long time employee of the former Civic Hospital, Dorcas retired from the admitting department in 1984 after 15 years of service. The Croghan family will receive friends at Faith Chapel, Delaware Ave. on Friday May 14th from 1:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00p.m. Cremation, with interment of ashes in Terrace Lawn cemetery. If desired donations to the Kinsmen Cystic Fibrosis Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

McLEAN - Donald Gorden
Suddenly at North Bay on Sunday May 9, 2004 while in his 61st year. Most beloved husband of Jennifer (Monro). Predeceased by his parents and brother. Will be sadly missed by his dog Bailey. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Thursday May 13th from 1:00 p.m. until time for services in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemtery.

O'NEIL - Eileen
At the Leisure World Care Giving Centre on Sunday May 9, 2004. Predeceased by 8 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by her sister Peggy Hart and numerous nieces and nephews. At Eileen's request there will be no visiting or service. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME.

ANDERSON - E. Margaret
At the North Bay General Hospital, McLaren Site on Tuesday May 4, 2004. Wife of the late Vincent Donald Anderson. Loving mother of Gordon Anderson of Peterborough and Dennis Anderson (wife Lois) of North Bay. Sadly missed by grandchildren Glenn (wife Jennifer) of Stratford, Carole Lowen (husband Patrick) of Winnipeg, Sarah of Kitchener and Mark of North Bay and great granddaughter Megan Anderson. Friends may call at the Lakeshore Evangelical Missionary Church, 656 Lakeshore Dr. on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm. Interment on Monday at 2:30 pm at Highland Memory Gardens in Toronto. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Missions and Benevolent Ministries of Lakeshore Church, North Bay would be appreciated.

RITCHIE - Rae
Peacefully at Cassellholme for the Aged on Wednesday May 5, 2004 in her 95th year. Dear wife of the late Jim Ritchie. Loving mother of Judith Beaudry (husband Charles) of Callander and Jean Reid (husband Al) of North Bay. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Robert Mepham (Aimee) of Fergus and David Mepham (wife Natalie), Chris, Michael and Jon Reid all of North Bay and great grandchildren Jacob and Jayden Mepham. Survived by her sister Jean Einarson of Parry Sound. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 11 am. Interment to follow at the North Bay Union cemetery.

TURCOTTE - Philip Alfred
passed away suddenly at the St.Joseph's Health Centre, in Sudbury, on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Lovingly remembered by his wife Faye. Sadly missed by his sons Stacy (Heather), Corey, by daughters Terri Connely (Derek) all of Michigan, Amanda Turcotte (Pat), Samantha Turcotte of North Bay and grandchildren Amanda, Mitchell and Grace. Survived by his mother Ellen Turcotte. Predeceased by his daughter Christina Ann Turcotte and by his father Philip Charles Turcotte. Dearly loved son in law of Herman & Wilma Jones of Restoule. Remembered by his brother Irvine Turcotte, sisters Deanna Ranger (Rick) of Powassan and Doreen Quirt (Mike) of Orillia and by many other family and friends. Philip drove truck for himself and others over the past 44 years, and took pride in a job well done. He built 2 homes with his family at his side, every step of the way. He was truly Admired by many. Philip believed in giving back to others and his last act was to be an Organ Donor. At Phil's request a private visitation was held at the Martyn Funeral Home. Cremation was held at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. A Memorial Service will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Wednesday, May 5th, at 2:00 PM.

WALKEM (nee Fairbrother) - Gwen
Peacefully at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Monday April 26, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Reg. Loving mother of Clyde Lewis (Elaine) of Hamilton, Bill Walkem (Cindy) of Cambridge and Fay Scappatura (Tom) of Calgary. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and by her special friend Herb Kannegiesser. Survived by her sister Kay Johnson of Fort Erie and by nieces and nephews. Gwen was previously active in the community as a member of the Oddfellows Rebecca Lodge, Cassellholme Auxillary, Nipissing Rifle & Revolver Club and the Bethel Gospel Chapel. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am. Interment Terrace Lawn cemetery.

At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Sunday April 25, 2004. Dear husband of the late Anne Hammond. Loving father of Barbara Vance (husband Steve) of Whitby, Brian (wife Sylvie) of North Bay, Lorraine 'Meme' Handley (Gerry Haggett) of Winnipeg and Heather Sadick (husband Rob) of Winnipeg. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren; Jennifer, Alison and Lauren Vance, Laura and Derek Handley and Nicholas, Christopher and Logan Sadick. Survived by his sister Martha Pritchard of Elora and brother Arnold Handley of Willowdale. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7- 9 pm.. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Interment St. Mary's cemetery.

GEDDES - Bryan Charles
Peacefully, and with his family, at the North Bay General Hospital on Friday April 23rd, 2004, at the age of 52 years. Bryan will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Wanda Whalley, his children Sarah Nichols (Mark), of Calgary and Benjamin of North Bay, and their mother Debra Geddes also of North Bay . Dear son of Kenneth Geddes (Vivian) of North Bay and the late Evelyn. Brian will be sadly missed by his brother Daniel of Guelph, sister Judith Gallardi (Greg) of North Bay, his mother in law Yvonne Schroeder, sister in law Barbara Jesse (Richard), and brothers in law James Frederick (Sharon) and John Schroeder (Denise). Funeral services will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL (across from city hall) today, Monday April 26th 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation will follow.

FRASER - Daisy
To Know Her Was To Love Her

Predeceased by her husband Stan Fraser. Daisy leaves behind her dearly loved and cherished children: Ione Barre (Maurice), Gilman Smith, Karl Smith (Charlene), Dwyla Hartmann (Uwe), Linda Thompson (Jim), Dwight Smith (Lorraine), Blake Smith (Donna) all of North Bay. With her family by her side Daisy went to rest, at home on Saturday April 24, 2004. Also left to mourn, is family friend Marg Goodship, eighteen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren. Daisy's faith and strong conviction in the resurection promise has for many years been her source of greatest comfort and solace. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Premier Road, North Bay on Tuesday April 27th, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Premier Road Kingdom Hall, or the North Bay General Hospital Foundation Building Fund will be gratefully acknowledged. GENEROUX - Robert Edgar
Peacefully at Leisureworld on Thursday, April 22, 2004. His loving wife, June, predeceased him on September 7, 2003. Loved father of Lynda and her husband John DeCiccio of Burlington, Robert Tracy and his wife Terri-Lynn and Kristyne and her husband Richard all of North Bay. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Scott, Keri, Jeffrey, Maddie and Mark and great-granddaughter Gillian. Survived by his brothers and sisters Cameron (Evelyn), Patricia (late Lloyd), Dorlean Storey (Jim), Angeline Nickerson (Richard), Roy (Diane) and Elizabeth Mellow (Paul). Pre-deceased by brothers Wilfred (Pearl), Earl (Phyllis) and Lloyd (Joan). Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Drive). The interment of Bob's ashes will take place at the Forest Lawn cemetery on Sunday at 1 pm. A memorial service will follow at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Sunday at 2 pm.

Although he traveled to many parts of the world, his favourite place was his cottage at Rabbit Lake, where he could enjoy true peace and quiet that nature brings.

CAIRNS (nee Clarke) - Ellen Christina
Died Peacefully with her family members at her side, at the North Bay General Hospital, on Thursday April 22, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Alfred, her parents Emma & Thomas Clarke and brothers Junior, Archie, Dalton, Jack, Cameron and Ralph. Ellen is survived by her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Monday April 26th at 10:00 a.m. Cremation with interment of ashes in the North Bay Union cemetery.
