PASSMORE - George
passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital (Scollard site) on October 25, 2003. Beloved husband of Corrine Passmore of North Bay. Loved father of Linda (Ron) Gravelle of Callander, Ted (Joanne) Passmore of Elmira and Jim (Judy) Passmore of North Bay. Loving grandfather of Ron Jr. (Tammy), Glen (Cindy), Mindy (Dave), Luke (Jessica), Adam, Tracy, Erin and Kristen and his great grandchildren Tyler, Riley, Tori, Brodie and Blake. Sadly missed by his sisters Elsie Lawrence of Lively, Joy Humphrey of North Bay, Noreen (Jock) Hall of Toronto, Jerry Passmore and Del (Brenda) Passmore of North Bay. Predeceased by his first wife Beatrice and his brothers Bert, Allan and Don. By his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A interment service will be held Thursday October 30th, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn cemetery with Rev. Elizabeth Fraser officiating.

In leiu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetic Society or Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre, Sudbury.

GALLANT - Owen
Drew and Wendy Gallant were proud to meet and welcome Hannah's new little brother, Owen into their lives on October 29, 2003. Owen's strength kept him with them for only a short while, but a visit worth every cuddle and every tear. Owen will be terribly missed and forever cherished by Mummy, Daddy, Hannah and many family and friends. Kathy Wells & Audrey Tenwesteneind cannot be thanked enough for their endless support, friendship and love that they surrounded Owen and his family with. A special thanks also to Dr. Paul Meinert, Dr. Waja, CHEO and the many nurses at the North Bay General Hospital. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, (across from city hall) on Tuesday November 4th from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn cemetery. LAUZON - Rita
At Cassellholme, North Bay, On Saturday November 1st, 2003, at the age of 91 years. Rita Paquette was predeceased by her husband the late William Lauzon. Beloved mother of Muriel Chaput of North Bay. Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:30 am on Tuesday November 4th, 2003. Interment to be held on Wednesday November 5th in St. Stephen Roman Catholic cemetery , Charlton, Ont. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, 464 Wyld Street.

GORDON - Evelyn
At Kelowna, British Columbia, on Monday November 10th, 2003, at the age of 98 years.. Evelyn Miriam Yeates, was the beloved wife of the late James Bartle Gordon. Proud and loving mother of Gwendolyn Waugh (Jim) of Ottawa and Patricia Leishman (Gerald) of Kelowna, B.C. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Randy, Rick & Jennifer Waugh and Katherine, Paul, and Gordon Leishman and her seven great grandchildren. Dear sister of and Anne Moore of North Bay. Predeceased by her brothers Harry, George and Charles and sisters Carolyn Hart, Elsie Lamothe and Mary Amell. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, 464 Wyld Street, North Bay, on Thursday November 20th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the South Shore Evangelical Missionary Church, Callander at 11:00 a.m on Friday November 21st, . Interment to follow in the Callander Union cemetery.

Lee - Muriel
It is with deep regret, the family wishes to announce the death of Mrs. Muriel Lee. Muriel passed away Thursday December 20, 2001. She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold and had been fighting Cancer for the past ten years. The former Muriel Thurlow was the daughter of William (Bill) Thurlow and Minerva Ostrom. She was born May 14, 1934 at Widdifield Station. She married Oliver Lee April 7, 1952. In earlier years she worked to help support the family, and later she enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and researching her family ancestry. Her family was her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed by her husband Oliver, her daughters Mrs. Sharon Wilson (Harold), Mrs. Marilyn Ulrick (Colin), Mrs. Barbara Stillar (Sheldon), Mrs. Beverly King (Autry), Susan King (partner Robin Couche). She is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Bailey (Willis deceased), Mrs. Joan Veinott (Bob), Mrs. Marion Bainbridge (Jack), Mrs. Shirley Rich (Wilfred), Mrs. Vivian Jocko (Paul deceased) and sister-in-law Mrs. Jocelyne Thurlow (Glen deceased). Also survived by 10 grandchildren, Kerry, Sherry, Eric, Robert, Vicki, Natalie, Dustin, Diana, Janice, and Ouriana and 5 great grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Mitchell, Alanta and Tenarraw. She was predeceased by her father in 1958, her mother May 14, 2000, son Robert in 1956 and two brothers Glen in 1995 and Jackie in 1933. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 3pm. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3pm. Spring interment at the Holmes Memorial Community cemetery.

ROSE - Eleanora
At the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Wednesday November 12, 2003. Dear wife of Oswald (Ossie) Rose. Loving mother of Elmer (Christine) of Rutherglen and Laura Lee Boissonneault (Luc) of Bonfield. Sadly missed by grandchildren Krista Rose and Sheldon and Trevor Boissonneault. Survived by her sister Annetta Campbell of Toronto and her brother David McLaren of Sudbury. Predeceased by her sister Inez Plachner. Eleanora was a resident of Cassellarms II and will be remembered for her great home cooking, luscious vegetable & flower gardens, her love for all animals and her open arms to all people. Her accomplishments include life-time memberships with both the Bonfield Agricultural Society and Rutherglen Women's Institute. Eleanora played a very large part in her community by volunteering in numerous groups and organizations for over 50 years including the UCW, the 4-H Club and the Rutherglen Choral Society. Friends and family may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Mount Pleasant United Church in Rutherglen on Saturday at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Mount Pleasant cemetery in Rutherglen.

DENNIS - Pearl
passed away peacefully at the Empire Living Centre on Friday, November 14, 2003 at the age of 100 years. Predeceased by her husband Cameron Dennis (1984). Loving sister of Russell "Bud" Tapp of California, Dorothy Ribout (deceased 2003), and Weldon Tapp of Kelowna, BC. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral services will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Terrace Lawn cemetery.

KENNEDY - Johnston
Peacefully at North Bay, surrounded by his family, on Friday, November 14, 2003. John Kennedy, was the beloved husband of Doris Bain, at the age of 87. Loving father of Carolyn Kennedy (Peter) and Valerie Bowness (Rodger). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Robin (Mike), John (Barb), Kara (Greg), Gillian, Leah, Meghan, Brad (Melanie) and great grandchildren Annagh, Holly, Samuel, Benjamin and Satchel. Predeceased by his siblings William, Elliot, Peter and Claire. John was the founder of Pinewood Park Motel Inn (North Bay), the developer of the Pinewood and Kenwood Subdivisions, and he was the owner/operator of Kennedy Real Estate. PARK - Matthew
Park, Matthew born Scotland 1917-2003. Passed peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital surrounded by family on Friday November 14, 2003. Dear husband of Margaret Park (nee Bremner). Loving father of Michael (Betty), Meredith (Margaret), Marilyn (Sandy), Malcolm (Judy). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Tammy Michelle (deceased), Jeff (Barb), Carrie-Anne (Mike), Bradley (Kim), Christopher, Andrew, Brandon, Court, Nathanial, Mackenzie and great-grandchildren Tamara, Kaitlynn and Hailey. Survived by sisters Norma, Elizabeth and nephew Malcolm (Phylis) of Montreal. His hobbies included stamp collecting, golfing and fishing. He was a member of Branch 599 Legion and of the Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite. His greatest passion was performing as a magician. Family will receive friends at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME Monday November 17 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday November 18 from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 18 at the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am. Our special thanks to the nursing staff of the General Hospital-Scollard Site third floor East for their kind and loving care.

SMILEY - Dougald
passed away at Cassellholme November 16, 2003 at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by his wife Daisy Smiley (nee Harrigan) and daughter Frances. Loving father of Doug (friend Gloria) of Toronto. He will be sadly missed by many friends. At his request there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held Wednesday November 19 at the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm.

Donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Dougald.

DONOVAN - Bernie
Peacefully at North Bay, on Monday, November 17, 2003. Dear Daddy. What a life! You proudly served in the GGFG, WW2, OPP & RCAF, loved golf, baseball, fishing, horses, dogs & cowboy movies. When I was 8, you married my mother Thelma & adopted me, loving me as your very own. Thank you for loving my mother for 50 years. Thank you for being a caring helpful grandfather to Allan, David & Lisa McDonald & a delighted "GG-PA" to Bailey, Charley & Joey Puddister. Thank you for the opportunity to return your love & care to you for the last 6 years. Your brother King (Doris), many nieces & nephews will always remember your happy smile. I shall miss you dearly but take comfort that you are back in my mother's arms & I gladly commend your soul to my understanding God. Thank you especially for just being my "Daddy" all these years. BROWN: Kenneth, M.D., C.M., FRCS(C) Born 1924 in Montreal, QC, died November 18, 2003, North Bay, ONT. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Toni and his children; Susan (Don) Priebe of North Bay, Pam (Tom) Dawes of Thunder Bay, Ken (Rose) Brown of Port Perry, Heather Robertson of Calgary, Alison (Bruce) Millar of Canmore, Toni Brown (Dick Averns) of Vancouver, and Meredith Brown (Ronnie Drever) of Montreal. Especially loved by his grandchildren Sarah, Nik, Heidi, Kim, Lisa, Eric, Graeme, Laura, Evan, Geoff, Cam, Aidan, Riley, Nelson, Brooke, and Lily. Also survived by his brother James (Jean) Brown of South Carolina. YEOMAN - Iva Mary
Iva Yeoman (nee Laycox) passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 25, 2004, at the age of 81. Predeceased by her loving husband Grant. Dear mother of David and his wife Audrey, Don and his wife Frances, Kevin and his wife Janet and Greg and his wife Stephanie. Loving grandmother of Maeghan, Tyler, Carolyn, Brandon, Connor, Carley and Graeme. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wyld St. North Bay (705-472-8810) from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday, June 28. Funeral service at the Chapel 2 pm Tuesday June 29 with internment to follow on Wednesday at the Mickle Memorial cemetery in Gravenhurst. Iva worked as a volunteer with the North Bay and District Canadian Cancer Society for many years. She began as a Campaigner and Team Captain. Then in the early 1980's she filled the role of Campaign Chairperson. The family would like to thank Mom's friends and neighbours for their caring and support. We will miss you Grandma.

TULLOCH - Ethel
Born 1907 in Algoma, died Monday June 21st, 2004 at the North York General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Clayton Tulloch and daughter Glenna Bristol. Survived by her son Duane Tulloch, daughter Eleanor Manthei, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Saturday June 26th, from 1:00 p.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2:00p.m. Interment at Terrace Lawn cemetery.

TULISALO - Elli Susanna
It is with profound sadness that Raimo (Ray) and Kaarina announce the passing of their beloved Aiti, Grandma and Mumma on Saturday, June 19th, 2004 at the North Bay General Hospital in her 100th year. She was the wife of the late Kosti Tulisalo (1950). Cherished Aiti of son Raimo and daughter Kaarina, loved grandma of Tina and James and treasured Mumma of Jessica. Predeceased by her daughter Hilkka Susanna (1936), and in Finland by her parents Herman and Susanna Niemi, her brothers Jussi, Jaska, Herman and Masa and her sisters Maija and Alma. Her beloved sister Senja passed away February 1st, 2004 in New Jersey. She is also survived by her nephew Jorma and his family in New Jersey and nieces Kerttu and Hilkka and nephews Eero, Lauri, Jorma and Mauno and their families in Finland. Special "Aiti" to Liisa, Russell, Jason, Sarah, Will, Abby, Betty, Pat, Anita, Dennis and Kelly. Lovingly remembered as "Mrs. T." and the "Cookie Lady" by Joan and her family in Rhode Island and by her friends in North Bay and Waterloo. Ray and Kaarina were truly blessed to have had such a wonderful mother who filled their lives with such deep abiding love and joy and who made them her "life's work". Elli's family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of her remarkable life with visitation at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Elli's final journey "home" to Copper Cliff will be on Friday, June 25th for visitation at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church (12 Collins Drive) Copper Cliff, Ontario from 11:30 am until time for services in the sanctuary at 1:00 PM. A reception will be held in the Parish hall following the service. Cremation to follow with burial in the family plot in the Park Lawn cemetery , Sudbury at a later date.

Died at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Thursday, June 17, 2004, Thomas was in his 64th year. Loving father of Thomas of Lausanne, Switzerland, Mike of Callander and Penny and her husband David Haight of Whitehorse, Yukon. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jeffrey, Dawson, Ashburry and Darian. Dearly loved brother of Ruth Gleave of St. Catherines. At Thomas's request there will be no Visitation or Service. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.
