Sheila Mathieu - 06/27/2003

Peacefully at home in Ottawa on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at age 51 after a courageous fight with cancer. Beloved daughter of Rena (and her husband Gerald). Loving mother of Marc and Anne and proud grandmother of Austin. Fondly remembered by Gilles Mathieu. Also survived by her niece Tina Lepage, sisters Kathy and Linda and brothers Andy and Rick. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa on Sunday, June 29 from 5-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held in Athens, Ontario. at a later date. Those wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Audrey Eteanor McBain - 06/22/2003

Peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 22, 2003; aged 83 years Beloved daughter of the late David and Matilda McBain. Loving aunt of Joan Hamilton, Alan (Maureen) McBain Bruce (Dawn) and Graeme (Margaret Anne) Robb Also survived by 3 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew: 2 great grand nieces and four great nephews. Predeceased by a sister Mildred Robb and a brother Kenneth McBain. Lovingly remembered by her dear friend Helen Bayne. Special thanks to the staff at The Glebe Centre for their compassion and care. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 from7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday after 12 noon until the service time in the chapel at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. Private cremation. Memorial donations to St. Giles Presbyterian Church or the Glebe Centre Inc. would be appreciated.

Died after a short illness Monday June 16th, 2003 at the age of 87. Predeceased by wives Irene Rielly (1974)and Jean Quarmby (1997), also sisters Frances, Ruth and brother Fred. Surviving by his sister Gertrude and his children Michael (Rita), Susan, Peter (Isabelle Desgagnes) and Robert and his grandchildren Sonya, Karen, Kimberly, Nicolas and Elise, all of Ottawa. Retired veteran, Civil Servant and long time resident of Elmvale Acres. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road on Thursday, June 19 from 5-9p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord, 1940 Saunderson Drive, on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 10:00a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Perley-Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Foundation or the Ottawa General Hospital.

Peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at age 54. Beloved wife of Edward (Teddy). Loving mother of Leslie-Ann and Craig. Dear sister of Denise Groulx, Helen Groulx and Roger Groulx. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Florence. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Funeral Servie will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 10am. Those wishing may make donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Oncology-Gynecology Unit.

Friends in the Ottawa/Gatineau area may visit the Corel Centre in Kanata to sign a book of condolence as a tribute to Roger on Friday, June 27th, 2003 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Memorial Services Peterborough & Ottawa A Memorial service will be held in Peterborough for only Roger s friends, co-workers and hockey dignitaries Saturday, June 28th, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Northview Pentecostal Church, located at Fairbairn St. at Towerhill Road, Peterborough, (705-748-4573) Limited seating availability. Friends in the Ottawa/Gatineau area may attend a Memorial Service at the Kanata Wesleyan Church, 285 Didsbury Road, Kanata 613-592-7635, (exit 417 North on Terry Fox Dr., located behind Canadian Tire) on Saturday, June 28th, 2003 at 2p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Seanators Foundation, Roger s House Trust, 1000 Palladium Drive, Kanata, ON, K2V 1A5 or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Owner & President of Nesbitt's Greenhouse & Nursery Peacefully in hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 58 years of Muriel Nesbitt (nee Maxom). Loving father of Lynden (Joanne), Diane Willis (Nick) and Ron (the late Debbie). Cherished grandfather of Heather and Donovan and papa of Sara, Emily and Mathew. Harold is survived by his brother Ken Nesbitt (Terry). Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Monday, June 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 24, from 12 noon until Memorial Service time in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment Bellevue cemetery , Aylmer, Quebec. Many heartfelt thanks for the care and support Harold and family received from all staff at the Critical Care Unit of the Ottawa Heart Institute.

Graveside interment service will be held at Westminster cemetery , Pendleton, Ontario on Saturday, June 28 at 2 p.m.

passed away peacefully on June 18, 2003, at the age of 59 years. Beloved mother of Patricia Bukta of Courtney, B.C., David Bukta of Guelph, Ont., and Angela Brands of Tillsonburg, Ont. Cherished grandmother of Fiona Brands. Dear sister to David Rayner of Ottawa. Carole is also survived by her partner Michael Rose. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Alice Rayner and her son-in-law, Kevin Brands. Carole was a former employee of Met Life Insurance and Canterbury House Book Store. She was also a co-owner of Pilgrim s Way Book Shoppe. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street at O Connor and McLeod, on Sunday, June 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, at Trinity Anglican Church, 1230 Bank Street at Cameron, at 12:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Centre 454.

Mary Scott Reid (nee Cardiff) - 06/22/2003

passed away June 22, 2003, at the age of 87 years. Beloved wile for 57 years of the late Harold Bowie Reid. She will be missed by her loving children James (Geraldine) Reid, of North Gower, Ontario and Katherine (Eric) Hofmann of Summerland, B.C. and her grandchildren Emily, Duncan and Ian Reid. Mary will be also fondly remembered by her friends in Deep River and Norway Bay. A Memorial Service will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 11 a.m. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Brother of Jean-Louis, Marie-Paul, Fernand, Yvette and the late Madeleine. Family and friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road on Tuesday June 17 from 7-9p.m. and Wednesday June 18 from 2 to 4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the St Laurent Parish of Carlsbad Springs on Thursday June 19, 2003 at 11am. followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
