Shirley A. Bradley (nee Stewart) - 07/20/2003

Peacefully on July 19, 2003 in her 88th year. Wife of the late Lt. Col. Lloyd W. Bradley. Dear mother of John (Dawn), David (Shirley), Paul (Sally), Stephen (Bernadette) and the late James. Cherished grandmother of Robert (Judy), Greg(Karen), Christopher, Sarah, Shaun, Stephanie, Joan, Sheila and Colin. Survived by beloved sister, Audrey; predeceased by brothers, Harris, Lorne and sister Betty. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, PLayfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, July 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 23rd at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. Special thanks to the exceptional care given by all the staff at New Orchard Lodge. For those wishing, a donation to the Resident's Council, New Orchard Lodge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Vivian E. Brown ( nee Kyle) - 07/16/2003

Peacefully at Carlingview Manor, on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. L.W. Brown. Loving mother of Dennis, Andrew and the late Richard ( Julia). Dear grandmother of Daniel, Amanda and Emily (Wayne). Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Rd., on Friday, July 18 from 7 to 9pm. A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Pinecrest cemetery. In her memory, those wishing, may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa-Carleton.

Reina Marie Burton (nee Proulx) - 07/21/2003

January 24, 1914 - July 19, 2003 passed away in Ottawa on Saturday at the age of 89 years. Wife of the late Edley Allen Burton. Dear mother of Peter and Martha (Daniel Catchpole). Dear sister of Annette Baldrate and sister-in-law of Raymond Paradis and Marjorie Proulx. Remembered by grandchildren David, Jeffrey and Samuel Marleau, Julian Catchpole, and nieces and nephews in Ottawa and Montreal. Also survived by Eddie Burton and Vilma Darch, family in North Carolina as well as her many friends. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas Proulx and Dorsina B langer; her brother, Hector and five sisters, Jeanne, Beatrice, Rita, Th r se and Maximilienne (Mimi). Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Allard and the dedicated staff at the Elisabeth Bruy re Health Centre for their loving care and attention to Mrs. Burton. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at the Aviation Parkway on Thursday, July 24th from 1pm until the time of Service in the Chapel at 3pm.

Dr. Stanley Bywater - 07/17/2003

B.Sc., Ph.D. (Leeds), FRSC Unexpectedly, in hospital, after a short illness on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Hilda and loving father of Susan (Ernest Hurtubise). Dear brother of Marie Bywater of Birkenshaw, England. The last surviving Fellow of Dr. E.W.R. Steacie, he was formerly with the National Research Council for 35 years as Head of the Polymer Section. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday from 12:30pm until time of service in the chapel at 1pm. Interment Beechwood cemetery. Those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation

Wm. Ross Chamberlain - 07/26/2003

Peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2003, at age 90. Husband of the late Mary Fairbairn Torrance. Beloved father of Lynn (Peter Lonstrup), Janice (Robin Porter), Michael (Nancy) and Deborah Rosenlund. Dearly loved grandpa of Elizabeth, Michael, Kyle, Richard, Kristina, Susie, David, Julia and Cameron and great-grandpa of Noah, Max, and Kennedy. He was a member of the late Royal Canadian Dragoons and served with IV Princess Louise Dragoon Guards during WWII. Before his retirement from the Carleton Board of Education in 1978 he was Head of Guidance at Merivale High School, he was also a member of Council at Manotick United Church, a Youth Education Officer and the long-time Secretary of Branch 314 Royal Canadian Legion and founder and Past-President of Rideau Seniors. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Those wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice.

Emirance Chateauvert (nee Levesque) - 07/23/2003

Peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the age of 87. Dearly beloved wife of the late Albert. Dear mother of Constance (Aurele), Guy (Claudette), Gerry (Suzanne), Marcel (Denise) and Claude. Dear sister of Ernest. Also loved by her 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several friends. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, July 24 from 6 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St-Sebastien Roman Catholic Church, 1000 Frances Street, Orrawa on Friday, July 25 at 11am. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.

passed away on Friday, July 18, 2003 at age 84. Loving husband of Maggie "Peggy". Beloved father of Leonard, Lynn, Billy, Ronald and Michael Cregan, and Allana Gallenger. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his sister, Betty. Allan retired from Johnston's Furniture in 1991 following 28 years of service. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Tuesday, July 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be Celebrated in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11 a.m. Interment Notre-Dame cemetery.

Peacefully in Ottawa on July 24, 2003 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Suzanne. Cherished brother of Yvonne, Christiane, Antoinette, Sister Mary Joseph (Madeleine) Albert, Godelieve, Monique and his brother-in-law Jacques. He also leaves behind his adopted children, Marie-Pierre, Xavier, Jean-Francois, Dominique; his grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Bruges, Belgium after an important period of twenty years in L'Abbaye de Maredsous, he emigrated to Canada in 1964. He was a teacher in Ste-Therese-de-Blainville, in Matagami, in Farnham, in Touraine (St-Alexandre College) and in Ottawa (Lycee Claudel and Ottawa University). As well as being a teacher he was an expert in UNESCO in Africa. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, July 30th, 2003 from 1 p.m. until service time in the Chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society of Ottawa would be appreciated by the family.
