Alice Gilliard

1913 -2002

Peacefully at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville, on Thursday, April 25th, 2002; the former Alice Elms at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Charles Gilliard. Loving mother of Robert Gilliard & his wife Mary of Brockville, Ellen Simms and her partner Mary Clarke of Toronto, and Derrick Gilliard and his wife Ann of Brockville; and predeceased by her daughter Ruby Norman. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Robert Gilliard Jr. and his wife Pennyann, Ken Gilliard and his wife Bonnie, Karen Whalen and her husband Brian, Jennifer and Cheryl Gilliard, Darren Norman & his wife Sheila, and Derrick Norman and his wife Rose; and by great-grandchildren Robert, Ryan, Jessica, Kaleb, Joshua, Shane, Melissa and Daniel. Also survived by her sister Mabel Ayers and her husband Reg, and her niece Mary Noseworthy & her husband Fred all of Corner Brook, Newfoundland.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Parish on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to St. John Bosco Church will be gratefully acknowledged.

Lucille "Lucy" Herbison

1956 - 2002

On Monday, April 29, 2002 at Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness; Lucille Dorothy Herbison of Brockville at the age of 45 years. Loving daughter of Dorothy Herbison of Brockville and the late Cecil James Herbison. Beloved mother of Tammy Herbison of Brockville. Dear sister of Linda Beauchamp (Eugene), Heather Clarence (David), Harold Herbison (Mary) and James Herbison (Charlene). Also survived by five nephews, five nieces, one great-niece, and by her great-aunt Eve Herbison. Fondly remembered by her dear friends and their families.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday, May 1st from 2-4 & 7-9pm. In celebration of Lucille's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 2nd at 11am. Cremation to follow at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium with interment at a later date at Oakland Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Clara Irene Donnelly

1913 - 2002

On Monday, April 29th, 2002 at the Brockville General Hospital Clara Irene (Sheets) Donnelly at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Lyle Donnelly. Loving mother of Cyril Donnelly (Sylvia) of Mallorytown, Margaret Donnelly of Winnipeg, Merle Donnelly (Margaret) of Brockville, Ruth Saunders (Herb) of R.R. 4, Mallorytown, Joan Ellis (Don) of Brockville Barbara Clemenhagen (Richard) of Portland and Brenda Kelly (Wayne) of Brockville. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, and great grandchildren and by one great great granddaughter Sydney Donnelly and by one great great grandson Anthony Donnelly. Predeceased by her daughter Beatrice Ellis, a grandson Shawn MacMaster, and by one brother and several sisters.

In celebration of Clara's life, a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 2nd at 1 o'clock. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery, Ingleside. Earnest Edward (Ernie) Scott

1933 - 2002

At the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville on May 7th 2002 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Rosalie Burns Scott. Dear father of Tom and his wife Marie of Brockville, Tammy Scott-Zelt and her husband David of Kingston and Tracy Clark and her husband Robert of Addison. Sadly missed by grandchildren Shannon, Jordan, Jason, Joel, Jonathan and Nathan. Dear brother of Marie Moore & her husband Don of Brockville and Nancy Clark & her husband Don of Mississauga. Also survived by nephews Scott Moore and David Clark and nieces Marylin and Cathy.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service in celebration of Ernie's life will be held in Trinity Anglican Church on Friday at 1 o'clock. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In memoriams to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged. Officers and members of Salem Masonic Lodge No. 368 A.F. & A.M. will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 pm.

Paul Allen Betzner

1948 - 2002

On Thursday, May 2nd, 2002, quietly at his home in Toronto at the age of 48 years. Son of the late Allen and Norma Betzner. Dear brother of John Betzner and his wife Mary of Roebuck, Ontario, and Barb Betzner of California. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland, Ontario. In remembrance, donations to the Shriner's Hospitals will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville (613-342-2828).

Mrs. Jane E. L. Watt

1924 - 2002

At Brockville, Ontario on Monday, May 6th, 2002. Loving mother of Clare and Geoff Johnston, Robert and Carla Watt, and Nancy Watt and Scott Cameron. Dear grandmother of Isobel, Robert, Hugh, James, Douglas, Jenepher, and Kathryn. Proud great grandmother of Reese. Predeceased by her husband Robert R. Watt, and granddaughter Laura.

On Monday, May 6th, 2002 at the Ottawa Heart Institute, Fred Howard Atwood of Brockville at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of the former Mabel Harding. Loving father of Shirley Holt of Ottawa, George Atwood of Cochrane, Beverley Lamont of Collingwood and Douglas Atwood of Ottawa. Fondly remembered by six grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Robert Atwood and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his infant son Stephen Atwood.

In celebration of Fred's life, a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 10th at 3 pm. Milton T. Myers

1909 - 2002

At the Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, May 7th, 2002 at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Pearl Edith Martha Hutt and son of the late Edward and Lewra Myers. Loving father of Shirley (Andrew Krajnyak), Melvin Myers (Alida) all of Brockville, Marie (Frank Schaub) of Maitland, Donald Myers (JoAnn), June Myers, Marilyn (Verny MacDonald) and Gail (Robert Mitchell) all of Brockville. Fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Wayne , one in infancy, his sisters Muriel Bryan and Beryl Gardiner, a brother Cecil Myers and by brothers-in-law Arthur Bryan and Steve Gardiner.

At the Helen Henderson Care Centre, Amherstview on Tuesday, May 7th, 2002 at the age of 86 years. Loving mother of Michael Archambault and his wife Wendy of Vancouver and dear sister of Leslie Douglas of Calgary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters Cissy Porter and Olive Hughes and by her brother Frank Douglas.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Liturgy at the Irvine Funeral home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday, May 11th at 9 am followed by a gathering in the funeral home reception centre. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Des Neige Cemetery, Montreal at 1 pm. In remembrance, donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.

Walter H. A. Brown

1924 - 2002

(WWII Veteran, R.C.N.; Canadian Armed Forces, Captain Ret., R.C.A.F.)

On Sunday, May 12th, 2002 at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute; Walter Hubert Arthur Brown, a native of Victoria, B.C., former resident of Ottawa, and latterly of Mallorytown, Ontario at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Velma (Addie) Brown of Mallorytown. Loving father of Greg Brown and his wife Cathy Pearl of Calgary, Stephen Brown and his wife Karen (Reznick) of Ottawa, and David Brown and his wife Teresa McDonald of Perth. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Tyler, Laura, Taylor, Channing, Gabriel, Michael and Anna. Also survived by his brother Norman Brown and his wife Marylou of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Ireland.

In celebration of Walter's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 16th at 11am followed by a reception in the funeral home reception centre. After the reception, a Service of Committal will be held at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland, where cremation will take place. In remembrance, donations to the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute will be gratefully acknowledged.
