Richard J. Reid

1945 - 2003

Passed away suddenly in Brockville on Tuesday, May 27, 2003; Richard John Reid at the age of 57 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Gail (Pittman) Reid and devoted father of Keri Reid. Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Reid, and dear brother to Joseph Reid & his wife Arlene, and Anne Brennan & her husband Joseph all of Brockville. Also survived by his mother-in-law Geraldine Crippen and her husband Ross; by brothers and sisters-in-law Brian Pittman (Elaine), Donna Aimer (Brian), Marsha Pittman all of Brockville, and Brenda Craig (John) of Perth; as well as by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In celebration of Richard's life the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 2 o'clock at St. James Anglican Church, Maitland. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

Purvis Weir

1928 - 2003

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Purvis Weir at the Ottawa Heart Institute on June 11, 2003. Roger Purvis Weir was born on July 2, 1928 to Roger Weir and Myrtle Moore. Husband of Margaret Brown, loving father of Wendy Onstein and best friend of her husband Charles of R.R.#2 Brockville, Bruce Weir of R.R.#2 Brockville and Paula Dixon and her husband Robert of Clayton, New York. Wonderful Grandpa to Brad and Carrie Onstein and Lucas Dixon. Also survived by brother-in-law Douglas Brown (Gloria), sister-in-law Marjorie Brown, and several cousins including Ruth Norton (Harold) of Prescott. Predeceased by brother-in-law Gordon Brown.

Friends may call at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In celebration of Purvis' life, a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in Maynard Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to Heart & Stroke or Arthritis Society will be gratefully acknowledged.

Harry E. Evernden

1921 - 2003

Unexpectedly at his home, Brockville. on June 12, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Ann (Phillips) Evernden. Dear brother of Ian Evernden of Lynn, Mass., Richard Evernden (Patricia) of Harrowsmith, Patricia Ashby-Wigle (Doug) of Kingston, and Norma Kirchen (Ralph) of Napanee. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Ernest and Isabel Evernden. Harry was a proud World War II Veteran having served in the Black Watch, and was retired from External Affairs Canada.

In celebration of Harry's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11am. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston. In remembrance, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund will be gratefully acknowledged. Officers and members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96 will hold a Veteran's Service of Remembrance on Wednesday at 7pm

Robert (Bob) Morrison

1914 - 2003

At the Brockville General Hospital on April 16, 2003 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the former Eva Oakey Morrison. Father-in-law of Nola Morrison- Kelly. Loving grandfather to Randy (Michelle) of Brockville, Tim (Trudy) of Port Hope, Chris (Erin) Morrison of Burrit's Rapids. Great grandfather of Samantha, Rebecca, Ryan, Riley, Paige, Jack and Nicholas. Predeceased by his only son John Morrison , a sister Elizabeth Marshall and by a brother Bill.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. (There will be no visitation on Good Friday) A celebration of Bob's life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In memoriams to the Brockville Wesleyan Church or the Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged.

William Edward (Bill) Latham

1921 - 2003

At his Brockville home, suddenly on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Edna (Robinson) Latham and loving father of Donald Latham and his wife Beverley of Burlington, and Margaret Latham and her husband Robert Armstrong of West Vancouver. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Ryan Latham of Toronto and Shannon Latham of Victoria. Dear brother of Harold Latham and his wife Mary of Brockville, and Eric Latham of Victoria. Predeceased by his brother Wallace Latham, and by sisters Lyla Young and Mary Latham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In celebration of Bill's life, a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 2 o'clock. Interment at Oakland Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by Salem Lodge #368, A.F.& A.M. on Friday evening at 7pm. All sister lodges invited.

Muriel Audrey Young

1919 - 2003

On Thursday, April 24th, 2003 at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital; Muriel Audrey (Hepburn) Young at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Young. Loving mother of Carl Young of Cornerbrooke Nfld., and Allan Young of Brockville. Fondly remembered by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Dear sister of Josephine Foster of Sunnybrooke, California.Predeceased Charles and by a sister Mildred McKenna.

Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on May 2, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Jac William de Bruyn. Dear mother of Marenca Kherani (Nazir), Garth de Bruyn (Joanne) and Jacqueline Lemaire (Dan). Loving Omi to Jake, Katie, Danielle, Coby and Zachary. Dear sister of Els Bakker (John).

On Monday, May 5th, 2003; peacefully at her home at the age of 57 years. Beloved wife of Fred Van Dyk. Loving mother of Gord Pearce (Cindy), Danny Pearce, Angie Clark (Dale), Carolyn Vanderwal (Bob), Tammy Van Dyk, Trish Van Dyk (Don Ring) and Debbie Roney (Norm). Fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren. Dear sister of Nancy Curtis, Terry Donnelly (Greg), and Connie Harper (Peter). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Marion Durant and Clark Service, by her sisters Cheryl Service (Bellinger) and Bonnie Service, her brother Leo Service, and granddaughter Emily.

1957 - 2003

On Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the age of 45 years. Son of the late Edward Arthur Haist and Edith Agnes Clements. Dear brother of Donald Haist and his wife Margaret of Maitland, Lorraine Colborne of Ottawa, Beverly Rossetti of Brockville and Marilyn and her husband Richard Haines of Barry's Bay. Fondly remembered by his several nieces and nephews.

Dieu Van Tran

1929 - 2003

Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday, June 16, 2003. Mr. Tran is survived by his wife, nine children, thirteen grandchildren and one sister.

1930 - 2003

Dear mother of Donna at home, Doug and his wife Karen of Sterling and Marilyn Toussaint and her husband Jim of Brockville. Dear grandmother of Keven and Kyley Spicer, Heather, Sean and Tyler Toussaint. Great grandmother of Kaylee and Avery Spicer. Dear sister of Earl Seabrooke (Erma), and Victor Seabrooke (Eleanor). Predeceased by a grandson Joshua Spicer, and by sisters Thelma Livingston, Irene Gifford, Gladys Hudson, Elva McManus, Dorothy Johnson, Joan in infancy, and by brothers Stuart and Harold Seabrooke.
