passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on December 31st 2012. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Dootson) and loving devoted father to Gail (Ted), Keith (Sarah), and Darin (Kristy). “Poppy” will be forever missed by his adoring grandchildren Jennifer (Gerald), Kristina, Darien, Alyssa and Madelyn. Kenny leaves his dear sister Thelma (Eddy) McSwan and is predeceased by his brother Roy. Kenny will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, nieces, nephews and the many friends and neighbours he has enjoyed knowing these past 22 years at the Villages of Glancaster, Mt. Hope; as well as his many friends and colleagues of 34 years with Imperial Oil Ltd. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday January 4th, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home Chapel on Saturday January 5th, 2013 at 4 p.m. followed by cremation at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or charity of your choice.

Cherished Mother of Marcello ( Stephanie), Vito (Lorena) and Flavio (Vesna) Devoted Nonna to Amber, Marcello Jr., Cassandra, Melissa, August, Jordan and Antionette. Adored sister to Vito , Nick, Vic, Rinaldo and Liberata. Antonia also leaves behind many other extended family members and friends. Entered into rest at Hamilton General Hospital on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Judy, at the age of 63 was the beloved wife of Kaye Fong for 43 years. Devoted mother of Kerman and his wife Tammy, and the late Kelly and his wife Jane. Proud and adored ‘mama’ of Madison and Jakob. Much loved daughter of Henry and Jeannie Wong. Dear sister of Harold and his wife Diana Wong, and Jackie and her husband John Thiopoulos. Loving aunt of Matthew and Joshua. Sadly missed by many relatives and friends.
Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens) BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Tuesday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland cemetery , Burlington.

After a valiant battle against the effects of Peripheral Artery Disease, Chris passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday January 6th, 2012 at the age of 82.
Chris was the dearly loved mother of Linda (Henry) and Carol (Robin). Adored by grandchildren Hal, Ben and Melody as well as great granddaughter Hali.
Chris is survived by sisters Patricia, Milly, Violet and brother George. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings Jack, Effie and Albert.
Chris’ loving and determined passion for life serves an inspiration to her large circle of extended family and friends.
To honour Chris’s life, a time of fellowship and refreshment will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405), on Saturday January 12th from 2-4pm. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation in recognition of the outstanding care and concern received by our mum from Dr. David Szalay and his vascular surgery team and the hospital staff of 5 west.

On January 6th, 2013 Bernice left her earthly body at the age of 82. Though her body is no longer with us, her life, her love and her vitality will live on within everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Loving wife of the late Steve. Beloved mother of Mary Ann Jha and Bruce (Keltie) Law. Adored Baba of Miles (Elaine) and Milenko (Ivana) Markovic, Maxine Law-Tan, Brianne and Adam Law. Will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Milena, Katarina, Lexi and Aleksandar Markovic. Dear companion of George Rzepka and special Godmother of Valerie Rzepka. Bernice will be remembered by her sister Isabel Juras. Predeceased by her sister Helen Rzepka. Bernice and Steve were the former owners of “The Keystone” and “Sir Stefan’s” restaurants. Her tireless commitment to community stretched from the Good Shepherd, to RFA, to St. Joseph’s Parish and beyond. The family will receive friends at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive (behind Royal Botanical Gardens), BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Wednesday January 9th, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wake service taking place at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Parish, 260 Herkimer Street, Hamilton on Thursday January 10th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre cemetery , Burlington. In his 68th year, after a long and courageous battle, Dan passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by his partner in life for 33 years Don, his brothers David (Phil), Dennis (Bonnie), and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his mother Bertha (2010) and father James (1985). Dan started his career working with Hamilton’s various movie theatres (Odeon – Palace – Capitol) and to theatres in London and Ottawa. He then acquired a position with Canada West Indies Molasses Co., now Westway Feed Terminal, until his retirement. He was a fan of the C.F.L and avid Ti-Cat supporter with a great sense of humour and quick wit. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. D. Cook, Dr. Perri, Terry and Debbie, and all the caring ICU staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate and attentive care of Dan.
Family will receive friends at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington (905.527.0405) on Thursday, January 10th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a reception at Bay Gardens. Cremation to follow and interment at a later date at Bayview Mausoleum, Burlington. If so desired, donations to the Hamilton S.P.C.A or Salvation Army in Dan’s memory would be appreciated.

Surrounded by family Irene passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital on January 10th, 2013. Loving wife of Steve for 35 years. Adored mother to Mike (Rose), Lynn (Bill) and Sue (Stan). Devoted nana to Nikki, Sara (Jaron), Kristen, Jamie, Rebecca and Matt. Cherished great nana to Isaiah. Irene also leaves behind her sister Shirley (Jerry). Cremation has taken place as per Irene’s explicate request. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Sunday January 13th from 2-5 p.m. In Irene’s honour a private family service will be held. Irene was a long time employee of St. Joseph’s hospital. She volunteered at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic and Hamilton Police Services. Irene was also a member of the McMaster Turtle program which she truly enjoyed. A special thank you to Dr. Pugsley and Nurse Mary also all the staff at the Firestone clinic. Many thanks to Dr. Zara Khalid, Dr. Ann Boyle and the palliative care team, also nurses Ellen and Sara on 4CTU West. Donations may be made to the Firestone clinic and CNIB.

SIMPSON, Thomas Ritchie "Tom" Peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, January 10, 2013, in his 94th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Ann and his son, Donald. Loving father of Bob and Audrey, Grandfather of Lisa and Don, Dana and Dave, "Big Papa" to Brianna, Samantha, Julianne and Jack. Survived by his brother Bill and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Jim and sisters Jen and Robina. He was a proud Hamiltonian from Wood Street in the North End. After serving his country in World War II as a welder and vehicle mechanic, Tom became a Fire Fighter with the Hamilton Fire Department. During his 33 years in the Department, he worked his way to Captain as well as Acting District Fire Chief. Following retirement, Tom became a valued member of The Pool Shoppe team where he supervised the parts department and pool pump repairs. Tom's smile, kind heart and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. From health care to home care, our family would like to thank all of the individuals who helped Tom maintain his healthy and independent lifestyle. Share your memories and stories with us during visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME - "William J. After living courageously with ALS, Tony passed away peacefully, at home, with his loving family by his side on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at theage of 53.
Loving husband, soul mate and friend to his wife Nancy (Van Hee) for 28 years. Devoted father of Adam, Nicole and Stephanie. Beloved son of Joe and Mickey Pracsovics (Marzoli). Cherished brother of Joe M., Patti and Cathy (Mike Nonnenmacher). Dear son-in-law of Albert and the late Dianne Van Hee, loved brother-in-law to Dan and Margaret Van Hee and uncle to Travis and Janine. Will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends.
In 1982, Dr. Tony graduated from McMaster University with his Hons. BSc in Bio-Chemistry. He pursued his passion for medicine and graduated from McMaster University Medical School in 1985. After doing his residency in Family Practice, during which time he served as Chief Resident (86-87), he then established his practice as a Family Physician in Burlington.
Dr. Tony practised Family Medicine including obstetrics for over 23 years. During that time he was responsible for the obstetrical care of many patients and shared in the joy of bringing new life into the world.
His kind, compassionate nature and dedication tom his practice made him a much adored Family Physician by his patients and a well respected member of the medical community. Dr. Tony chaired many committees at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and served as Chief of the Department of Family Medicine for several years.
From an early age, Dr. Tony was actively involved in his church community. He was an Alter Server, a Lector and was the First Columbian Chief Squire in Hamilton and continued as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan of the Hamilton Tiger Cats and in his spare time enjoyed the Star Trek and Star Wars series.
Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be said Sunday evening at 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (20 Idlewood Ave, Hamilton) on Monday February 11, 2013 at 10:30 am. Burial at Resurrection cemetery , Ancaster to follow.
The family wishes to thank Dr. John Turnbull and Jane Allan from the ALS Clinic at McMaster, Dr. Graham Jones and Karen Martindale, Dr. A. DeRubeis and Dr. Samantha Winemaker, nurses Betty Ann and Domenika for their kind and compassionate care. Thanks also to the many nurses and P.S.W’s who assisted in Tony’s care.
In memory of Tony, donations can be made to ALS Ontario, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Margaret Mary Parish.
He will “Live long and Prosper” in our hearts and “The Force will be with him always”.
