Guthrie (nee Mantovani), Teresa 1926-2008

At Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on Tuesday August 26th, 2008 in her 82nd year. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Donald William Guthrie and dear cousins Joe and Franco Gorgonio and Claude Zorzetto and also by numerous family in Italy. Teresa was predeceased by her family; parents Rina and Adelchi Mantovani and brothers Livio and Renato. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Dr., (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens), BURLINGTON (905-527-0405) on Saturday August 30th from 10:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel, with cremation to follow and final interment in the family plot in Niagara Falls. Donations in memory of Teresa to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.

Hall, Celestina 1917-2010

Peacefully after a lengthy illness, at the Henderson Hospital on Monday March 1st, 2010. Celestina Hall in her 92nd year. Beloved Aunt of Ivy Reid and Bea Henry. Dearest Great Aunt of Tanya, Dionne, Richard (Roseanne), Everton, and Duane (Allison). Celestina will be sadly missed by Isaac Thompson. Also survived by many Great Great Nieces and Nephews.

Passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Predeceased by her loving husband Gordon B. Hamilton and her cherished daughter Mary E. Worsell. She is survived by her sons David (Lynn) Hamber, Sydney (Janie) Hamber and son-in-law John Worsell; grandchildren David Jr., Tanya (Scott), Andrew (Laura), Will and Becky Hamber and great-grandchildren Marlowe and Quinlan Hamber, and Doug and Kate MacGregor. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Ave. W., Hamilton on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice.

Hamm, Harley Robert 1935-2009

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father after a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at the Henderson Hospital at the age of 74. Predeceased by his loving wife Grace. Dear Father of Michael (Adele), Nancy Wunderlich (Terry) and Doug (Karen). Papa will be sadly missed by Ashley, Jamie, Gregg, Lisa, Rachell, and Laura. Will be remembered by special friend Veronica Haggerty. Predeceased by sisters Wilma Frances (Reg) and Patricia Threader (Jack). Survived by sisters Shirley Chapman (Larry) and Joyce Moffatt (Robert) and by brothers Charles (Jean) and Ross (Audrey). Harley was a retired employee of Stelco. The family will receive friends at the BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road East (between Upper Gage and Upper Ottawa) on Saturday April 25 from 7-9 pm and on Sunday April 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A chapel service will be held on Monday April 27 at 11 am. Interment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Juravinski cancer centre would be appreciated by the family.

Hanson, June Lorraine 1927-2008

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at The Willowgrove, Ancaster. To be reunited with her beloved husband, the late John. Daughter of the late Lorraine and George Bootland. Dear mother of Robert (Gail), Richard (Susan), Susan (Jay) and Brenda (Howard). Loving and proud grandmother of John (Alisson), Sara (Josh), Jeffrey (Amber), Michael (Jessyca), Leah, Nicole and Amanda. Adoring great-grandmother of Tyler, Taylor and Austin. Sister of George (Margaret), Donald, and the late Bruce. A heartfelt thank you to very special friends Jane, David and Henry for their kindness, friendship and support, Mom loved you very much. Surrounded by his loving family, David died peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on February 10, 2010 at the age of 85. Beloved husband and cherished friend of Margaret (nee O’Grady). Beloved father of Margaret (Rudy), Mary (Brian), Theresa (Pierre), Paul (Sarah) and predeceased Joan (Dwight). Beloved grandfather and well respected friend to Laura (Brent), Monique, Michelle, Justin, Anne-Marie, Patrick, Emma and Luke. Beloved brother to Dolores (Robert). David will be greatly missed by his family and friends. David was a successful employee of Ontario Hydro for 38 and a half years, a certified engineering technologist and life member of OACETT. The family would like to thank attending EMS paramedics and the staff of the emergency ward at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by his first wife Marcella (2000). Lovingly remembered by his wife Lillian. Beloved father to David (Helen). Cherished Grandpa to Olivia, Deanna, Julia and Daniel. Will be fondly remembered by brothers Jack Harris (Dianne), and Robert Harris (Marg). Predeceased by sister Betty Adams (Albert) and brother Larry Harris. Will be missed by many cousins, nephews, and nieces, and stepdaughters Colleen Fluke and Cheryl Graham.

Fred was a lifetime member of the Hamilton Genealogy Society and Burlington Power Squadron. Also a member of the Burlington Historical Society.

Harron, Liam George Alexander 2007-2009

With deepest sadness, we regretfully announce the passing of our precious Liam. After a brave battle with congenital heart disease, Liam is finally at peace and rest. He will be dearly missed and always remembered by his loving parents Corey and Mandy (Gower), his brothers Jackson and Lincoln, his grandparents Linda and Wayne Harron and George and Marianne Gower. Liam will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all the staff at Sick Kids in Toronto and McMaster Hospital. Unexpectedly at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario in her 76th year. Predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Eleanor Haw (nee Williams) and her sister Sharon McNabb (nee Haw). She will be sadly and deeply missed by her children Alan (Jackie Garrity), Jocelyn, Tim (Kim Byers) and Paul (France Fontana), her nieces Nancy and Elizabeth McNabb, nephew Bruce McNabb (Fran Janik) and her beloved and cherished grandchildren, Catherine, Andrew, Danielle, Cameron, Harrison, Sophie, Jamie and Paulina. Proudly born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Leonor attended Elbow Park and Rideau Park Schools and Central Memorial High School where she was valedictorian in her graduating year. She had fond memories of Calgary, helping at the family’s Williams Brothers store, enjoying sporting and social activities at the Glencoe Club and winning the Alberta Junior Mixed Doubles Badminton Championship. Moving East, she earned her Honours degree in Economics at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario (1957) where she was given the Tricolor award in recognition for her outstanding contribution to the university. She was also President of Levana and Editor of the Tricolor yearbook. Leonor later earned her Computer Systems Technology degree from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario (1986) as a mature student. While raising her children, she worked as an economist for the Ontario Government and as a systems analyst for the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto. She volunteered for the Junior League of Hamilton, St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church and throughout her life cultivated and shared her passion for gardening and garden design. Leonor will be remembered for her sense of humour, her love of family, her commitment to her principles and her desire to help, nurture and support those she cared about. Her incredible connection with people was something that touched us all.

Harvey, Mary Eleanor 1914-2008

Peacefully, with family by her side, at McMaster University Medical Centre on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the age of 93. Loving mother of Raymond (Eileen) of Lakefield, Marnell (late Bill) Meisel of Golden Lake, Sharon (Larry) Darbyson of St. Catharines, Doug (Laurie) of Westover, and Val (Bob) Patterson of Dundas. Cherished grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and “Big G” of ten great-grandchildren. Will always be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Private Cremation, Bayview Crematorium, Burlington. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations are greatly appreciated and may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Loving husband of Lurlene for 58 years. Devoted father of 6 children: Dennis (Ivorine), Nettie (Ed), Rupert (Rose), Henry (Merle), Bunny (Loraine), and Marcia. Dada to 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Roy will be missed by his church family, other relatives, and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Henderson Hospital, Ward 5, for their compassion and care.
