Peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday May 1st, 2011, at Joseph Brant Hospital Luigi Mancini in his 97th year.
Beloved husband of Esterina, loving father of Lucy Altobelli, Alberto (Rita), Maria Dell’Unto, Evelyn Howard (John). Cherished Nonno of 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Sofia and Santina both of Italy. Predeceased by son in laws Albert Altobelli and Guido Dell’Unto.
Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive Drive (across from BAYVIEW cemetery & Mausoleum) on Wednesday May 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday May 5th , 2011 at 10 am from Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Holy Souls Mausoleum. Vigil prayers at the funeral Home on Wednesday at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Special thanks to Dr. Ladha and the nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.

On May 2, 2011 at the age of 66. Dear husband of Toni for 39 years. Loving Dad of Melinda (daughter) and Rob Sealey and Jeremy (son) and Louise Major. Grandpa to Cara, Erika, Noella and Lila. Predeceased by parents Jack and Janet. Will be dearly missed by Bill (brother) and Doris, step father Andy de Graaf (Kathy), ‘Mom’ Dee de Groot and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J Markey Chapel,” 947 Rymal Rd E., HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Murray’s life will take place at Emmanuel United Church, 871 Upper Ottawa Street, Hamilton on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2pm. A private family burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in appreciation of the compassionate care given to Murray, Toni and family during his courageous struggle with cancer.

Caissie, Joseph Albert 1937-2011

Passed peacefully in his sleep with his son Brant by his side on May 8, 2011, in his 73rd year. Loving husband for 52 years of Betty. Will be missed by his children Bert (Mary), Brant (Tina) and Cindy. Will be sadly missed by his grand-children, Nicole, Sara, Joshua, Michelle and Aidan. Kotska-Zamperin, Louanne Mary 1963-2011

Peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday May 6, 2011 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 48.
Beloved wife and best friend of Phil. Loving mother of Sarah and Samuel. Cherished daughter of Joe and Anna Kotska. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Joe Kotska (Joanne) and Dan Kotska (Trisha). Adored daughter-in-law of Galiano and Doreen Zamperin. Sister-in-law of Chris, Tanya and Stephanie.
Louanne was well liked by all who knew her and had the opportunity to work with her or be a student of hers at St. Mary’s Secondary School where she taught for 24 years.
A special thanks to the caring nurses at St. Peter’s Hospital (3 West). Also her cousin Linda Condello and her cousin Linda Condello and her friend Patricia Brown for all their support over the last few months.

Walsh, Stephen Michael 1955-2011

Peacefully, at the Juravinski Hospital, on Sunday, April 10th, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.Beloved husband to Kathleen. Cherished father of Jillian (Kyle) Walsh, Rob Walsh, and Lisa (Terry) Mercuri.Special Popa to Maleigh, Caleb, and Mason. Will be missed by his siblings, Patricia, Maureen (Bill), Christine (Michael), Brian (Lynn), AnnMarie, Sharon, Jeff (Lisa), and Rick (Rose). Steve was loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Thomas John mother, Lillian Marie, brother, Robert , and nephews, David Walsh and Beau Perron, father and mother-in-law, Al and Peggy Tytler and sister-in-law Susan Exley. Steve retired from the HSR on January 1, 2011. Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. THORNTON, Marion (nee Johnstone) Peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marion Eleanor Thornton on Sunday, April 10, 2011. She will be re-united with her husband and best friend Howard and sadly missed by her family. Cherished mother and mother in-law of Denise Mirabelli (Tom), Lloyd Thornton (Marcia), Janice Coltart (Bill), and Scott Thornton. Adored grandmother of Jason, Jennifer, Laura, Stephanie (Jackson), Amanda, Michelle, Justin, Michael, Bradley, Julie, Caitlynn, Nicholas, Elisha, Melissa, Willy and Christopher. Great grandmother of Aydan, Jordan and Jade. Marion leaves behind her sister Isabelle, sister-in-law Mary, many nieces and nephews, cherished friends Shirley Sonoda and Elaine Coughlan, and her dog Casey. Predeceased by her mother, Frances Johnstone, her sisters Betty and Pauline, and her brother Leonard. Marion had a great passion for life, her family and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. A very special 'thank you' to Dr. Packer and her caregivers Jenn, Elisha and Hanan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME "William J. After a courageous battle with cancer, and with family by his side, Doug passed away on Monday, April 18th, 2011, in his 57th year.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Doreen, and his loving children Jason (Daniel), Jennifer (Marty), John (Lanaie), Nadine, and Jeremy. Proud Grandpa to Brooke, Sullivan, and Keira, and will be sadly missed by his loving dog Twix. Doug’s fun loving sense of humour was contagious, and will be forever missed by all of his family, friends, and coworkers.

Doug lived his life to work hard, and to play hard. As per Doug’s wishes, a FUNeral will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405), on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011 at 5pm.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the tragic loss of Domenico Cappelletti after a long and courageous battle. Domenico surrounded by his family peacefully passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday April 12, 2011. Beloved husband of Cristina, and dear father of children Miranda, Dario and Daniele. Loving grandfather to Angie, Dani, Christopher, Melissa, Natalie, Julia and Melinda. Predeceased by his brother and sister, and survived by his remaining three sisters in Italy, and dearly missed by his extended family.

The family is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Arthur Edward Jr. on April 19, 2011 in his 86th year at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years Lucy Apps (nee Patti). Loving father of Joanne (Robert) Palmer. Cherished grandfather of Ashley. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Edward Sr. and Dolly Apps (nee Pell). Beloved brother of Grace (Dan) Bardy (deceased), Barbara (Arthur) Young (deceased), and Bernard (Jane) Apps. Arthur is survived by many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He retired from the City of Hamilton in 1989. Arthur will be remembered for his passion of bowling. The family will receive friends at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J Markey Chapel,” 947 Rymal Rd E., HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Sunday, April 24th 2011 from 7-9 pm and Monday, April 25th, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A celebration of Arthur’s life will take place in the Bay Gardens Chapel on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 at 11am. Entombment to follow at Bayview Mausoleum, Burlington. Donations may be made in Arthur’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully, at the Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington, on April 5, 2011, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of nearly 54 years to Angelina (nee Zoratti) Piccini of Burlington. Loving father of Giacomo, Denise Moroso (Gerry), and pre-deceased by his daughter Maria Teresa. Cherished nonno of Alexander, Jacqueline, Lauren, Candace and Alanna. Brother of Giuseppe (Rina) of Milton. Brother-in-law of Carlo Zoratti and sister-in-law of Clelia Zoratti. Member of Famee Furlane Club of Oakville and Alpini Association of Hamilton. His passions in life were his family, his garden, and his wine. Nello will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many family and friends in Canada and Italy. Special thanks to the staff at Bronte wing for their loving care and comforts.

O'Neill, Marjorie

It is with saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Marjorie M. O’Neill, nee Halstead on April 4, 2011 in her 100th year.

Wife of late Henry G. Smith, and James E. O’Neill. Dear mother of Robert Smith, Doreen, and predeceased by her much loved son Grant. Left behind to love and miss her are her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters Lila, Betty, and Ruth.

Marjorie was called Nanny by many friends both young and old because of her warmth, her hugs, and her love for everyone. She entered and won many awards for her wonderful knitting, baking, many other goodies, and crafts at the Rockton Fair, encouraged by her dear friends who live in Rockton itself. Marjorie lived for the last few years at |St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas where many staff have been able to share her hugs. Many thanks to the Villa for their gentle and kind attention. We are forever grateful to Pastor Bev Greenwood who came to mom in prayer, comfort, and was so wonderful to us all after the loss of our dear Grant.

Peacefully passed away at the Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 2, 2011 in his 60th year. Survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Halina. Proud Dad and best friend of Dorothy (Brant), and Derek (Robin). Cherished Dziadzia of Adrian and Julian Dilar. They were the lights of his life. He will be sadly missed by his mother Malgorzata. Predeceased by his father Sebastian. Survived by his loving sister Janina (Chantal and Justin) and loving brother Eugene, (Donna) (Wesley and Adam). He leaves behind many cousins and friends in both Canada and Poland. His passing will leave an empty void in our lives. A very sincere thank you to Dr. Hotte for his excellent care over the years. Special thank you Doreen, the ward 3C nurses and doctors at the Juravinski Hospital.
