Mary was predeceased by her husband Les Holmes (2001), her parents, seven brothers, and is survived by her sister Rose Thompson (George) of Paris. Mary was an artist and had a natural ability to diagnose and fix anything mechanical. She was a good carpenter who built their house, installing the plumbing and electrical work herself. Mary worked as a floral arranger at Dobbie's Florist and was an excellent seamstress. She was interested in antiques and became a fine china repair artist. At one point she repaired two clay horses from an ancient Chinese exhibit for the ROM Museum in Toronto. Mary also gave many years to the Thorold Historical Museum as a volunteer and President. In later years, she selflessly cared for her bedridden husband. The family is grateful for a most loving and generous mother and grandmother!
