MAYHEW: Clarence Neil Peacefully at the West End Villa, on Friday August 6, 2004 at the age of 81. Loving husband of Marion (nee Bruce). Dear father of Terry (Wendy) and Janice (Rick Crego). Predeceased by his son Ed. Proud grandfather of Sheri-Lynn, Jennifer, Ryan, Adam, Emily and Lesley-Anne. Clarence will be missed by his daughter-in-law Ida Mayhew and his sister Marion Pasco. Predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Edgar. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), on Monday August 9, 2004 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday at St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church, 3891 Richmond Rd., Nepean, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow at Hope cemetery. For those who wish, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Kennedy, Verna

Kennedy: Venerante “Verna” (nee d’Entremont) Peacefully at the age of 93, on Friday August 6, 2004, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Nepean. Beloved wife of the late Allen Kennedy of Halifax, NS. She will be missed by daughter, Maureen (Paul Carrier); son Douglas, (Mary Ellen); grandchildren Maria, Allison and Brad; great-grandson Matthew; and by her four brothers and their families in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. The funeral and interment will be in Halifax, NS. For those who wish, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Jack, Robert
(July 9, 1937 – July 20, 2007)
Peacefully at Carlingview Manor on Friday July 20, 2007 at the age of 70. Loving father of Ishman (Bernadin), Dwight, Rosemary, Richard (deceased), Robert, Ronnie, Nancy (Barry), Richard (Wendy) and Brian (deceased). Cherished son of Iola Jack (nee McLeod), and Wilfred Jack (deceased). Robert is survived by his brothers David and Donovan and his sister Florence. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd (between Bayshore Dr and Baseline Rd), on Thursday July 26th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday July 27th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at the New Apostolic Church, 2680 Priscilla Street, Saturday at 3 p.m. Special thanks to the staff of Carlingview Manor and the Ottawa Civic Hospital Dialysis Unit for all their care.

Munro, Frank

MUNRO – FRANK W. It is with regret that the family announce the passing of Frank Munro in his 91st year on Sunday August 8, 2004. Beloved husband of the late Ethel (nee Carter), loving father of Carolyn Smith (David) and Jeanne Dobson (Robert). Cherished grandfather of Eric (Rhonda), Stephanie, Jill (Stephen) and Erin (Ken) and his great grandchildren Tyler, Deven, Tatiana, Aidan and Kayla. Survived by his brother Dennis and sisters Mary, Nancy and Audrey. Close friend of the late Helen Drayton and family. Frank had a distinguished career of service in the R.C.A.F. and a life long passion for birding and nature. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Tuesday August 10, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens. passed away at Roger’s House, after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy, on Friday July 20, 2007 at the age of 12 years. Beloved son of Sam and Pov Peou. Dear brother of Sean and Evan. Brother of Karen Petticrew of Ottawa, Ellen Petticrew of Prince George BC, and Bruce Petticrew (Joanne) of Greely. Uncle of Matthew and Erica Riley, Jason and Scott Petticrew. Dear sister of Nina (Garrett Ryan) and Erma Bradley. Predeceased by sisters Lila, Meda, Leith and one brother Geordie. Survived by one sister-in-law Win Elliot (Clyde). Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. At Joyce’s request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. The family wish to thank the staff of River Park Place and the ICU of the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their care and compassion. LePAGE, Gérard (Gerry)
Peacefully, at Carlingview Manor, Ottawa, on Sunday, July 22, 2007, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Loretta (predeceased). Loving father of Robert, Richard, Paul, John, Daniel, Charles, Claire and Joan (predeceased). Dear brother of Claire, Gertrude (predeceased), Louis (predeceased), Charles and Jean-Marie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dedicated to his family, his unassailable optimism and adventurous spirit served him well throughout his life. From his early days in the navy and throughout his life in Newfoundland (where he met Loretta, the love of his life), Sept-Iles, Beaconsfield, his 20-year tenure as City Manager of Pierrefonds and his twilight years in Ottawa, he inspired others through his honesty and decency, his strong work ethic, his engaging wit and smile, and his sparkling blue eyes. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Friday, July 27, 2007, at 11 am at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church, 105 Beaconsfield Boulevard, Beaconsfield.

KILLEEN CARL JOSEPH WORLD WAR 11 VETERAN 4th FIELD REGIMENT LONG TERM EMPLOYEE OTTAWA PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD Peacefully as he slept, August 11th 2004. Dear son of the late_Thomas and Katherine. Carl joins his adored wife Mavis (Beattie), his brothers Earl and Edward and sisters Gertrude and Mary.. Survived by his dear sister Margaret (Peggy Sheahan). Cherished father to Wendy and John. Dearest grandfather to Erin, Ty, Colin, and Kyle. Carl landed on the beaches of Dieppe and was taken prisoner for 2 yrs 8 months. Upon release he returned to Ottawa to marry his awaiting Mavis and raised his devoted family on Trenton Avenue while working for the Ottawa School Board. He was a dedicated Life Elder of Parkdale United Church, a long time volunteer of St. Vincent Hospital as well as a Member of The Masonic Lodge. Notwithstanding his difficult wartime experience all Carls’ friends and relatives would attest “There could be no kinder and gentle a man.” A most sincere heartfelt thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at both the Ottawa General Hospital and River Park Retirement Residence. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd., at Roosevelt, on Saturday August 14, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. Memorial Service Sunday at Parkdale United Church 429 Parkdale Avenue, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers Carl would appreciate donations to the Parkdale United Church Memorial Fund.

Also survived by 4 grandchildren Victoria, Valerie, Laura and Georgia. Predeceased by her brothers Alton and Cecil. Peace has come after a long and courageous battle. On August 15, 2004 in her 76th year surrounded by her family at The Empress Senior Residence in Kanata. Loving wife of Paul, devoted mother to Michael (Lori), Mary Ann (Keith Cheverton) and Jaynie (Corey Graham). Cherished nana to Jessica, Trevor, Taylor, Michael, Jason, Alexandra and Travis. Survived by her two sisters Edie (Jerry Coates) and Val (Freeman Clowry). Predeceased by her parents William and Mary Lavallee (Sherbrooke QC), sister Irma Barnett, brother and sister-in-law Ivan and Brenda Lavallee, and brother-in-law Art Wright. Special thanks to the Dialysis Unit and the Palliative Care workers at the Civic Hospital for 2 ½ years of devoted care as well as the compassionate and professional nursing staff at The Empress.
