Riddell, Kenneth H. (Ken) Retired - Bell Canada Peaefully at home surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Patricia Stephens and dear father of Kristen (Jeff Hoganson), Melanie (Paul Chedore) and step-father of Kelly Prudhomme, Tammy (Dwain Leblanc). Grumpa to Tyler, Jayden and Kennedy Hoganson; Anna Chedore; Jake and Charlotte Leblanc. A reception, for family, relatives and friends, in Ken's memory will be held in the Maple Terrace Room of the Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Thursday, from 2 to 3:30 pm. Cremation with a private family inurnment will take place at Pinecrest cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Ken, may do so to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Society or the Ottawa Humane Society.

Koschade, Johanna Beate
KOSCHADE, Johanna Beate Peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday December 1, 2003 at the age of 78. She is very much missed and will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Karol Georg Koschade and was predeceased by her brother Lutz and her sister Doris. She is survived by her daughter Andrea (Bryan Rogers), her son Ralph, her sister Rita (residing in Germany) and nieces and nephews (also in Germany). Johanna was a kind and gentle woman, who loved her garden, the outdoors and her travels. She busied herself with her friends and her hobbies and managed to enjoy life to the fullest. She was still kayaking two months ago and gardening in October, before cancer robbed her of what should have been many more years. She was our mother and our best friend -- we are devastated at the loss. A service in Johanna’s memory will be held at Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) Nepean, on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m, followed by a reception at the (at). If desired, donations may be made to The Hospice at Maycourt, 114 Cameron Ave., Ottawa, or to the Canadian Cancer Society. “Live each day as if it were your last, and garden as though you will live forever.”

Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday December 5th, 2003 at the Elisabeth Bruyère Health Centre, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Olive (Bradley). Dear father of Elaine and Donald. Son of the late Alfred Saunders and Susan Wilson of Torbolton Township. Predeceased by brothers Paul and Stephen. Phil was a member of the Highlands Golf Club, the Granite Curling Club and Temple Lodge No. 665 GRC, Westboro. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt, on Monday December 8th, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. Peacefully on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2003 at the Providence Continuing Care Centre of the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Brockville in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Elsie Ward. Loving father of Betty Valley (Bob) and Alinda Valcour (Ron). Sadly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Lilly Bradley. Predeceased by a sister Judy Doherty. O'Manique - John Thomson Ph.D. It is with deep sadness that the family of John O'Manique announce his death, on Tuesday, December 2, 2003. John was the beloved husband of Pat (nee Terry), dear dad (and father-in-law) of Erin (Kevan Shantz), Colleen (Christie Gombay), Pattie (David Hone), Stephanie (Ian Wright) and Juliet (Ian Stephenson) and proud Grandpa to Amy and Jeremy, Sophie and Claire, Annie and Grace, Josephine and Alexandra, and baby Kenna. This multi-talented man was Distinguished Research Professor at the School of International Affairs, Carleton University, where he taught physics, philosophy, and development studies over the course of 35 years. John was a prolific author, and avid gardener, photographer, traveller, Nordic skier and a lover of music. He had a deep commitment to social justice and gender equality, and was a mentor and inspiration to many. His life was a gift to his family and friends. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Canadian Martyrs, 100 Main Street, Ottawa on Saturday at 11 a.m. The family extends their deep appreciation to the relatives and friends who have been so supportive throughout John's illness. Thank you also to the VON for their home visits, and to the extraordinary nurses of 2B at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus. We will also never forget the unwavering, tender care provided to John by Dr. Richard Mimeault. Beloved mother of Ron and Marilyn and mother-in-law of Mary and Tony. Dear grandmother of Rosalie, Joe and Peter. Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Irene. Survived by her sisters-in-law Edythe and Marjorie, her nieces Joan, Lynn, Maureen, and Sandra, and her nephews Charlie, Doug and Ritchie. Her life was a gift to her family and friends. At her request, there will be no visitation and a private family service will be held. Camelon, Retta Lillian (nee Briscoe) Peacefully at home after a valiant battle with cancer, with her family by her side on Sunday, December 7, 2003 in her 81st year. Loving wife of Art (deceased 1959). Cherished mother of Bruce, Roxy (Garry Hamilton), Cheryl (Gordon Ross), and Beverlee (Kim Boles) all of Ottawa. Beloved “nana” to Jennie (Greg Gale) and Todd (Jodi Tervonen). Dear sister of Ron Briscoe. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy (Wilfed Crozier) and Alice (Bob Wilson). She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Retta’s buoyant spirit, kind, gracious and gentle manner and her wonderful smile brought joy to all whose lives she touched. As an extraordinary mother and nurse, she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family, many dear friends from the community, Carleton Lodge and Britannia United Church. On December 6, 2003, The Lord Our Saviour called home Rose Ritskes, at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Renze Ritskes. Loved mother of Andy, Frank (Stein), John (Joyce), Keith (Donna), Henry, Martin, Bill, Janne, Nancy(Wolf Stelzer), Theresa and the late Frances Prinzen. Also survived by 28 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by 1 grandson, 1 son-in-law Hans Prinzen and 1 daughter-in-law Rose Marie. Roelofje was born in Holland and emigrated to Canada in 1951. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. Collins, Lillian (nee Styles)
In hospital, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Tom and daughter Nancy. Loving mother of Richard (Maureen), Joan Buck (Steve), and Brian (Helen). Cherished grandmother of Mike (Barbara), Brian (Lorry), Sean (Clare), Chris (Linda), Jeff (Lisa), Rob (Corri), Karen and Krista (Mark), and great-grandmother of eleven. Lillian is survived by her brother Alvin Styles and her sister-in-law Alice Gervan. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Throughout her working years Lillian was a dedicated longtime employee of Sears.
