Peacefully at Stoneridge Manor, on July 24, 2009 at the age of 88years. Beloved wife of the late Albert Matthews. Dear mother of David Matthews, of Almonte. Dear sister of Muriel St Jean (the late Rupert) and Ron Snedden (Freda). Predeceased by her brother David Snedden (Clara) and her sister Fay Snedden. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic cemetery , Carleton Place on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 11a.m. In memory of Jean donations to the Stoneridge Manor Auxiliary would be appreciated.

Thanks to Dr. Garth Nicholas and all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus ICU, and especially Dr. John Kim for the compassionate care given to Ray and his family. Thurgood, Walter
Retired - Ford Motor Company
Peacefully, in Ottawa, on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Walter was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England on January 25, 1919. The son of the late John Thomas Thurgood and Olive May Hutchinson. He attended Tapton House School in Chesterfield until the age of 16, at which time he began working as an office boy with Ploughwright Steel Company and worked his way up the ranks. In 1939 he joined the RAF the first day of WWII and served the commonwealth until the last day of the war in 1945; three years of which he was in Goderich, ON with the Royal Air Force Training Program. At the end of the war he married Margaret (née Parkin), his beloved wife of 64 years. Walter emigrated to Canada in 1955, and began working for the Ford Motor Company. He also leaves his two devoted daughters, Janet Buck (Don) of Hamilton and Lesley Anderson (Brian) of Ottawa, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Edna May Thurgood and Florence Anne Thurgood, and brother Arthur Thurgood. During his retirement Walter proudly and lovingly enjoyed his family as well as travelling extensively, golfing and being an avid pool player. Mild mannered, much loved and appreciated by everyone, he will be greatly missed. At Walter’s request there will be no service, with cremation having taken place. For those wishing, a donation in Walter’s memory to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

In hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 with Kathleen at his bedside. Stanley John Kemp, beloved husband of 45 years to Kathleen Dora Lewis. Stan was predeceased by his sister Vera Swenson and is survived by his cousin, and nieces and nephews. Stan will be remembered for his love of his garden. Active Staff, Elizabeth Bruyere Health Centre, 1982-93. Medical Director, St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa, 1988-93. Predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia. Dear father of John Lamont of Toronto and Mary Lamont-Marchese (James) of Brentwood, New York. Dear Grandpa of Eric Marchese. Son of the late Alexander and Marie Lamont of Mount Brydges. Predeceased by his dear sister Margaret and brother-in-law Walter Clemens of Vancouver. Dear brother of Colin Lamont (Lorraine) of Mount Brydges. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Suddenly at home at the age of 50 years. Beloved husband and bestfriend of Ann McDonald. Proud and loving Dad of Greer. Dear son of Bill and Helen Holland of Ottawa and brother of Dr. Anne Holland (Rein Jaagumagi) of Toronto, Geoffrey Holland of Ottawa, and Catherine Holland of Maine. Dear son-in-law of Mary and the late Neil McDonald and brother-in-law of Cynthia (Tom Defalco) of Ottawa, Paul of Toronto and Elaine (Steve Vallevand) of Regina. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews Alyson, Eric, Emily, Claudia, Alex and Hannah. Jon was a devoted husband and father who will be forever missed by his many valued friends. A career federal public servant, he made significant contributions to Canadian policy. Morry, Evelyn Mary (Wheeler)
passed away peacefully on August 2nd at the Carlingview Manor, Ottawa, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Graham Morry, her son of the same name and her grandson, Ian Thomas Graham Morry. Leaving with many fond memories of a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her daughter Lanny and grandson Mick Morry; loving daughter-in-law Marietta and grandchildren Pete and Em; son Chris, wife Jamie and grandchildren Bryan, Gill and Nicola, as well as Great Granddaughter Oonagh; and son Glen, wife Randi and grandchildren Lauren, Will and Holly. Evelyn was a staunch women’s advocate, serving on the Canadian Council of Women and as a Commissioner in the Girl Guides. She was also a proud Newfoundlander and will make her final journey home later to rejoin her brother and sister, Otto and Muriel, who predeceased her. Lacroix, Armand
passed away in Buckingham July 31, 2009 at the age of 69. He leaves in mourning his wife: Monique Pedneaud; his children: Serge (Jacinthe), Patrice (Lilli); his grand-children; his brothers and sisters: Angéline, Gilbert, Conrad and Rachel, his aunt Alice; numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Karoline, his sisters and brothers: Noëlla, Thérèse, Omer and Pierre. There will be no funeral home visits. The funeral service will be celebrated Thursday August 6th at 11am at St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze church located at 150, MacLaren East, Buckingham, Quebec, J8L 1K1. The family will receive condolences from family and friends at 10am.
