Charlotte Frances Vanderleck - 02/05/2004

Peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late John Gerard Vanderleck. Loving mother of Virginia Frances and the late Steven. Cherished grandmother of Brigitte and Sara. Adored sister of John Ebbs. Private family arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

Sandra Gail Wallingford - 02/06/2004

On February 4, 2004 at the age of 53, somewhat unexpectedly but peacefully, with her dear sister Wuanita by her side as always. Sandra, aka Sandy...Sarah...Bib...will be fondly remembered as a miracle person (an angel) for fighting all odds. Her personality, her strength, her sense of humor and her preservation of all life (including Mr. Mouse) remains with us forever. Sandra is predeceased by her parents Leona (nee Campbell) and Dr. Wilson Wallingford. She is survived by her uncle Lyal Campbell of Plantagenet, Ira Campbell of Owen Sound and her cherished sister Wuanita Wallingford. Remembered so fondly by friends and cousins Dale Wallingford and Joy (Heidi and Carly), Rhoda, Taffy, Kati, Lois, Larry, Francesca, Judy, Sylvie, Gerry, Diane, Del, Graham and Helen, Terry and Claire, ... Her kin...Seguin's, Wallingford's, McManus', Campbell's and James'. Thanks to all the many health professionals who Sandra encountered in her life, most recently Dr. Chan, Dr. McLeod, Dr. Hodder, Dr. Hooper, Dr. Patel, Dr. Amy Rodgers, the amazing nursing staff of the ICU Civic Campus and in particular Sharon who absolutely understands the dignity of life and death. To all those who are unmentioned thank you. Go! Sens! Go! Friends may gather to share memories at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, February 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. A Memorial Committal will take place in the spring at Capital Memorial Gardens. Those wishing may make donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Your struggles are over. Be at rest.

Suddenly in hospital on Thursday, January 29, 2004 in her 57th year. Dearly beloved wife of Ray Whitford. Dear sister of David King. Predeceased by her parents Cecil King and Dorothy Radley. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Sunday, February 1, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, February 2 at 11 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Peacefully on April 13, 2004, age 84 with her family at her bedside. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Arthur Baker. Cherished mother of John (Darlene nee Plumb), Jane Stott (John) and Anne Macdonald (Brian). Fondly remembered by grandchildren Suzanne Woods, James Stott, Katrina Bainbridge, Alex, Jennifer, Margaret and Graham Macdonald. Great-grandmother of Samuel James Woods. Dear sister of Joan Lafontaine and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, April 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Sunday, April 18 from 2 to 4pm. CPL - RCAF WD WWII Veteran 1921 2004 Peacefully at the Hospice at May Court on April 18, 2004 in her 83rd year; Beloved wife of Edward A. Loving mother of Linda (Rod Olsen) and Sandra (Leo Fahey). Cherished grandmother of Todd Fortier (Suzanne) and Tara Fortier, Terrence, Erin and Sean Fahey and great-grandmother to Taylor. Will be sadly missed by her sisters Gladys Booth and Joan Cameron. Predeceased by her father Sgt. Major Charles Harvey and her mother Blanche (Lauzanne), brother W02 Donald Harvey and sisters Mona Daly and Barbara Durham. Cremation. In memoriam donations may be made to the cancer society or the Hospice at May Court.

Allan (Al) Brown - 04/08/2004

Bell Canada Retired Former Nepean Councillor Peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, age 63 years, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with ALS. Son of the late Leigh and Mabel Brown of St. Martins, New Brunswick. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Thomson) for 42 years. Dear father of Jeff (Myrna) of Calgary and Craig of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Mitchell and Trevor Brown. Also survived by his cousin Francis (JoAnne) Orchard of Fredricton, NB and Maurice Orchard of Toronto. Dear brother-in-law of Jean and Barry Nelson of Fredricton, NB. Al felt privileged to serve as a Nepean City Councillor for 10 years and was instrumental in helping organize the Nepean Youth Choir and was Building Chairman of Nepean City Hall and Centrepointe Theatre. He recently had been helping plan the second Al's Concert for ALS that will be held April 25 at the Cathedral. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral (Sparks Street) Ottawa on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 2pm. Following the service the Brown family invite family and friends to a reception in Lauder Hall. Special thanks to everyone in the health care system especially Marion Williams, Barb Thibeault, Theresa, Sandy, Dodie, Melissa, Peter, George, Maryanne, Nancy, Sherrey, Karen, Dr. Sawyers, Dr. Coulombe, Dr. Bourque, Dr. McKim, to the Givens family, and Tony El-Khoury for their wonderful attention and care. On April 14, 2004, Edith Bryson, beloved wife of the late Tom Bryson. Survived by her daughters Valerie Pranke (Ernst), Ottawa and Sandra von Seggern (Richard), Aurora, CO. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Heidi Henry (Michael), Merrickville, Ontario; Eric von Seggern (Karen), Loveland, CO; Krista von Seggern, Santa Monica, CA; and two great-granchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sue Burton (Robert), Arlington, Mass. as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Irene, brothers Fred, Edgar, Art and Gerry. We wish to thank the staff at Landmark Court for their wonderful care as well as her friends, Lorne and Yvonne Hooper and Lyn Gibson, for their kindness. Suddenly on Easter Sunday, April 11th, 2004, surrounded by her loving family in her 72nd year. Dearly beloved wife of Andre. Loving mother of Robert (Patricia), Jacques (Christine) and Father Pierre. Also loved by her granddaughter Geneve Champoux. Predeceased by one brother Laurie Cormier. Anna will be dearly missed by her 102 year old father-in-law, Charles Auguste Champoux. Dear sister-in-law of Hector (Edith), Helene Roberge (Gerald), Roger (Jacqueline), Therese Loubert (Ernest) and Claire Champoux. Also loved by her several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Wednesday and Thursday April 14th and 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 320 Olmstead Avenue, Ottawa on Friday April 16th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Hope Cemetery.
