Gilles Leblanc - 04/13/2004

Proprietaire Les Peintures Gilles Leblanc Inc. It is with regret that the Leblanc family announces the sudden passing of Gilles Leblanc on April 8, 2004 at the age of 58. Predeceased by his parents Noel Leblanc and Therese Legros. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Nicole and his children Lucie and Nadine (Charles). Brother of Gisele (Jean-Paul Racine), Rita (Denis Robert) and Rheal (Guylaine Charron) and his godson Lucas, his dear aunt Cecile and many nieces, nephews, especially Shane Vaive and Eve Corriveau, cousins, especially Robert Legros (Gisele Danis), Victor Lemieux (Therese Poirier) and also a devoted employee Sylvain Robert and friends. Friends may visit at the McGarry Memorial Chapel 139 Valley Dr. Wakefield on Tuesday April 13, from 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Ste-Cecile-de-Masham on Wednesday April 14, 2004 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Centre Hospitalier Gatineau Memorial in Wakefield or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Audrey Hilda (nee Ansell) Lewis - 04/04/2004

At home on Saturday, April 3, 2004 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late John Frederick Lewis. Cherished mother of Norman (Annette) and Cathy (Bill Farrell). Predeceased by parents Gordon and Minnie Ansell. Dear sister of Ruth (the late Jim Wallace) and sister-in-law of Ken (Sylvia). Loving grandmother of Scott, Andrew, Andrea, Amy, Ryan, Chelsea and Spencer. She will be missed by nephews Paul, Barry and David. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, April 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive on Wednesday, April 7 from 11am. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

1916 - 2004 Peacefully on April 18, 2004 at Island Lodge Nursing Home. Dearly loved husbnad of Anne. Dear father of Les and step-father of Bob. At Wilfrid's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on April 22, 2004 at Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa at 1p.m. Funeral arrangements in care of the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry. Heartfelt thanks to the second floor staff of Island Lodge for their care and kidness they have given to Wilfrid for almost 3 years. God bless you.

Alice Linda (nee Donaway) Machacek - 04/19/2004

Peacefully, in the Queensway Carleton Hospital, April 17, 2004, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. J.E. Machacek, Plant Pathologist, Agriculture Canada, loving mother and mother-in-law of Elizabeth and Vernon Burrows, Patricia Machacek, and Robert and Josephine Machacek. Much loved grandmother of Diane Burrows (Gregory Bell), Janet Burrows, Daniel and Graham Machacek. A long time resident of both Winnipeg and Ottawa, a member of Nepean's Seniors Advisory Council and Nepean's Senior Recreation Centre, she delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and was active at St. Richard's Anglican Church, Nepean. Alice was a recipient of the City of Nepean Volunteer Appreciation Award in 1989 and was awarded the Province of Ontario Senior Achievement Award in 1992. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 10am at St. Richard's Anglican Church, Merivale Road and Withrow Avenue, Nepean, ON. Private interment at Pinecrest cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Society Ottawa, 1053 Carling Ave., Ottawa, ON, K1Y 4E9 would be appreciated by the family.

Loving father of Kim (Gerry McGillvray), Karen (Jonathon Donaldson) and Alex. Grandpa of Maddison, Tori, Jack and Annie. Survived by his sister Ruthanne Hartnell, parents-in-law George and Ruth Loveridge, brother-in-law Ted Loveridge (Yana) and nephew Kyle. Al was a proud business owner and community supporter for over 30 years. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Monday, April 12th, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Audrey Merritt - 04/14/2004

passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 11, 2004. Audrey (nee Moses) was born in Cardiff Wales in 1922. She had two sisters, Gwladys Sheldon (deceased) and Brenda Dummer of Victoria, B.C. Audrey was a wonderful wife to Eddie ( married 54 years) and loving mother to Keith (Jean), Castlegar, B.C. and Brenda Ann ( John Cavacciuti) Ottawa. She was a grandmother to Tory, Kyle and Katelyn and nana to Dante, Justin and Stefan. Audrey had three sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Hazel and Helen, and a brother-in-law Daryl (deceased) plus many nieces and nephews. She was the original secretary of the Bel-Air Community Association and an active member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church since its inception. Audrey played tennis and she and her husband were active for many years in square and round dancing. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bridge and participating in her coffee club for 48 years. In more recent years she was an active member of the ovarian cancer support group at the Ottawa General Hospital. She made many friends. Audrey was an elegant lady with a kind and generous nature and was well known for her gift of laughter. She had the rare ability to see the best in everyone and we are the better for having known her. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 2112 Bel-Air Drive on Friday, April 16th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gynaecologic Oncology Fund of the Ottawa General Hospital, 510 Smyth Road, K1H 8L6 or the Palliative Care Outreach Program, 1455 Woodroffe Ave. S., Ottawa, ON K2G 1W1 would be most appreciated.

Anna Cathrine Nentwich (nee Brandhoj) - 04/06/2004

1921-2004 Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruy re Centre, with her family by her side, on Monday, April 5, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Aarup, Denmark, Anna was blessed with a keen sense of humour and a spirit of adventure. She loved to sing and play the accordion for family and friends. She took great pleasure in her many house plants and enjoyed feeding the wildlife in her garden. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Franz, her sons Heinz (Clairellen) and Franz Werner, her brother Viktor Brandhoj (Inge) and many nieces and nephews in Denmark. Predeceased by her parents Mariane and Frederik Brandhoj, her sister Elna Jensen (Ejner) and her brother Christian. Very special thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Elisabeth Bruy re Palliative Care Centre who treated Anna and her family with such loving care. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, April 9, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday at 10am. Interment Pinecrest cemetery.

On April 12, 2004 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 74. Beloved mother of Karen Nesbitt (Ed), Brian (Cindy) and Sandy (Chrissy-Sue). Loving grandmother of Laurel, Lee, Patrick, Braedon and Landon. Dear sister of Rose, Carmen, Tony, Gino, the late Fiorello, Edith, Marguerite and Victor. Sharon Ann Nowak (nee Stokely) - 04/08/2004

July 22, 1951 - April 8, 2004 Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruy re Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 53rd year. Widow of John Steven Nowak. Beloved partner of Keith Miller of Sudbury. Dearly loved mother of Natasha of Ottawa. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Genevieve Winter of Melborne, Florida; sister Elizabeth Stokely of Ottawa, Michele Sauter (Harold) and her family of Ottawa and brother Michael Stokely (Anna) of Toronto. Sharon will be fondly remembered by her Uncle Bob and Aunt Pat and their family of Ottawa and her Aunt Judy of St. Catharines. Survived by her sister Deborah of Thorald. Predeceased by her father David Stokely. The family wishes to express their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Elisabeth Bruy re Health Centre for their care and compassion.
