Peacefully on January 28th, 2001 at Hillsdale Manor. Mabel in her 88th year. Loving mother of Kenny, Bob and Linda. Dear Grandma to Jon, Shirley, Amanda, Monica, Nicole, David, Jody, Matthew, Robert, Danielle, and Justin, Beloved Great Grandmother to several Great Grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by Audrey Slaney, Ed Holden and Darlene Holden. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (433-4711) with funeral services in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 31st, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to a Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Visitation 7-9 pm. Tuesday, January 30th, 2001. "Now you're free, once again, on the wings of an Angel."

Served in WW2-Cameron Highlanders, Canadian Service Corps., Member Centennial Albert United Church, 43 year member Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Retired from General Motors, Member C.A.W. Son of the late Annie and Matthew Love. Beloved husband of Mary M. (Betty) Love. Dear father of Randy M. and his wife Kellie, Elizabeth M. (Beth) and her husband Robert Hall, Allen M. and his wife Joanne. Brother of Douglas and his wife Leola, and of Margaret Arnold. Step brother of William Mitchell and his wife Lillian, and David Mitchell and his wife Brenda. George will be missed by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Centennial Albert United Church (corner of Rosehill and Bond) on Thursday February 1st at 3 p.m. Memorial Donations to Centennial Albert United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Predeceased by her parents Bessie and Stewart Tippett, her brother William Tippett and her sister Ann Rorher. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa, with Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday February 1, 2001 at 1 p.m. Cremation Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. TURNER, Lloyd Loyola -
At Lakeridge Health Corporation, Oshawa on Sunday, January 28, 2001 in the presence of his family, after a four year courageous battle with cancer. Lloyd was born at St. Brendan's, Newfoundland, the son of John Turner and Bridget Whalen and is survived by his wife and partner for 51 years, Anne Catherine (MacNeil). He is survived by his children Nancy Hashimoto of Surrey, B.C., Don, Lex and Kevin of Toronto, Joe of Vaughan, Glenn and Barry of Oshawa, Son-in-law Greg, daughters-in-law Marcia, Karen and Michele; also survived by sister Mary Ann Hogan of St. Brendan's, Nfld., and brother Tom of Scarborough; six grandchildren Michael and Elliott Hashimoto, Lauren, Blake, Megan and Michael Turner; also survived by sisters-in-law Rose, Mary and Alice Turner of Scarborough. He was predeceased by brothers Joe, Greg, Pat, Herb and Jack and a sister, Nell Bridgeman. Lloyd was a boilermaker by trade but in an interim 15 year period, he and his wife Anne carried on business as A & L Machinery Movers Limited in Toronto and Scarborough, later returning to Boilermakers Local 128. He was a devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong Liberal. At Lloyd's request, there will be no funeral. A Memorial Mass in his memory will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1314 Oxford St. (at Philip Murray), Oshawa on February 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. "Before you call I will answer, while you are yet speaking I will hear." Isaiah 65:24.

After a short illness, on Saturday, January 27th, 2001 at Kingston General Hospital in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Betty. Loving father of Michael & his wife Alix, Steven & his wife Gwen, & Jeffery & his wife Lyn. Dear grandfather of Kristen, Trevor, Jason, Taylor, Connor, Ryan, Kerry & the late Shane. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 P.M. at Oshawa Funeral Service “Thornton Chapel”, 847 King Street West (721-1234) with visitation from 12 noon until the time of service.
