At Hillsdale Manor on March 24th, 2001 in her 88th year. Loving wife of the late George C. Hood. Loved mother of daughter, Thelma Langlais (Henry); sons, Robert (Evelyn), David (Nancy). 14 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by son Clifford and her parents John arid Mary Hreczuk. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel”, 847 King St. West (721-1234) on Tuesday, March 27th from 2 -4 & 7 9 P.M. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 28th at 1:00 P.M. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by his family on March 24, 2001 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Stella. Husband of Janina. Loving father of Ted and his wife Doreen, Helen and her husband Bill Cook, Joe and his wife Shirley, Josephine and her husband Mike Cronin, Stan and his wife Marilyn, and Bernice and Kelly-Ann Jackson. Proud grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 10. A visitation took place at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Sunday March 25, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A mass of Christian burial was held at St. Hedwigs Roman Catholic Church 411 Olive Street, Oshawa on Monday March 26, 2001 at 12 pm. Interment St. John cemetery , Whitby. A special thank you to the emergency and 6F staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and the staff of Sunnycrest Nursing Home. In memoriam donations may be made to the St. Hedwigs Church or a Charity of choice.

MABBERLEY, Ethel M. (Pat) -
(Retired employee of Dominion Stores Toronto) After a lengthy illness as a result of a car accident, on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Fairview Lodge, Whitby, in her 79th year. Survived by her sister Gertie (Mrs. S. Pellerin) and sister-in-law Earla McCord. Predeceased by her younger brother Ned McCord. Survived by her daughters Diana (Mrs Heiki Aus), Beverley (Mrs. Tom Milliken), and Sharon (Mrs. Elmer Winters), her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and special niece Elaine Rennie-Preston. Friends may call at the Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. South for a memorial visitation from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by a service in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Bowmanville cemetery.

Beloved husband of Ada; dear brother of Iris Mahood of Telkwa, B.C.; Louise & her husband Roly Hollyoake of Souris, Manitoba; Maxine Pfisterer of Calgary; Calvin Musgrave of Winnipeg & Terry Musgrave of Camrose, Alberta. Predeceased by one brother Frank of Kingston. Dear brother-in-law of Patricia, Derek and Michael of London, England. Lovingly remembered by his niece and nephews. Bev, beloved brother of Donald and his fiancee Mary of Bowmanville, June Marchant and her husband Matthew of Bowmanville, Arthur and his wife Noriene of Oshawa, Kathleen Caspersen and her husband Flemming of Hamilton, Shirley Salter and her husband Nelson of California and the late Margaret, Jean, George, Alice and Phyllis. Brother-in-law of Muriel Parsons and Doug Flewel. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Regina Parsons. Lovingly remembered by nieces a nd nephews. Friends were able to call at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Tuesday from 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held in our Chapel Wednesday at 11am. Interment Burr's cemetery , Ameliasburg. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Mary Centre would be gratefully appreciated.

(Longtime employee of Eli Lilly). On Friday, March 23, 2001, at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Uxbridge. In her 87th year. Doris, beloved wife of the late Rowan Byers. Predeceased by her sister Helen Hayes. Fondly remembered by her devoted friend Verna Monsan, her nephew Donald Byers and his wife Faye, niece Joanne Finlayson, great-nephews and nieces James and Michael Byers, Heath, Liam and Maggie, great great-niece Hayley and nephews Brook and Kenneth. Loving brother of Ella Fragne of Freelton, Iva Mountjoy of Bowmanville, Florence Fowler of Buffalo, and Mary Fowler of Bowmanville. Predeceased by his brothers Harvey, Bruce, Bob, Bill, Norman, his sister Doris, and his parents Henry and Florence Mahaffy. Grant will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the Wagg Funeral Home, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Grant Mahaffy will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 26 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert Le Page officiating.
