FORSYTH, Robert Lorne -
Peacefully, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario on May 1st in his 70th year. Youngest of nine children of the late Wm. and Maud Forsyth of Montreal. Survived by sister Olive Belliveau and sisters-in-law Edna, Lorna, Helen Forsyth. Predeceased by Alec, Kenny, Jean Schofield, Harold, Fred, Ronald, Edward, and niece Audrey Taylor. Also survived by fifty-six nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews, who were all near and dear to him. At Lorne's request, there will be no visitation, and arrangements are private. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society if desired. Arrangements entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge.

CARDWELL, Lillian Elizabeth -
Died May 1, 2001. Mom, you will be so tremendously missed. Your strength, dignity and devotion to life and to your family will be an inspiration to all of us. Extremely proud of her Irish heritage and her hometown Montreal. Loving wife to the late Frederick and dear mother to Roberta, Danny, Colleen, Shelah, Patricia, Mary Rose and Kathleen. A grandmother who will be sadly missed by her 20 grandchildren and her 5 great-grandchildren. Resting at Ronald Martino & Son Funeral Directors, Brock Road Chapel, 1057 Brock Rd., Pickering, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church, 796 Eyer Dr., Pickering, Ont. on Friday, May 4, 2001 at 11 a.m. Interment at Resurrection cemetery , Whitby. Spragge Albert E. -
(Longtime Shop Manager and Associate of W.R. Chapman Auto Electric, where he continued to actively participate until his passing). After a long, healthy, active life, on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Jane Spragge. Loving brother of Mary and her husband Jack Lyon of Bobcaygeon andthe late Donald and Wilson Spragge. Devoted uncle of John and his wife Sharon Lyon, Bev, Ron and Judy Spragge, and Mary Lou Astoria, as will as extended family in Western Canada. Albert will be sadly missed by his dear friend Bob Broadbent and all those he shared an interest with, in golfing, billiards, snowmobiling, gardening and small engine repair. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the McIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433 5558) on Thursday from 7-9pm. On Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Lakeridge Health, Uxbridge, in his 72nd year, Roger, beloved husband of Sylvia. Dear father of Gloria and her husband Jack, Carol and her husband Brian, David and his wife Lynda and Sandra and her husband Joe. Grandfather of Ian, Mark, Sara, Julie and Amanda. Survived by his brothers Connie, Archie and sisters Leona, Mercedes and Odile. Resting at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South, on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In Roger's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

(Retired from the North York Board of Education after many years of service, Veteran of World War II, wounded while serving with the British Military, 2nd Airborne Division, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, while on the beaches of Normandy). Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at Lakeridge Health Corp., Bowmanville, on Saturday, June 30, 2001, at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Robbins) for 26 years. Father of Diana and her husband Richard McAnsh of Bracebridge, Joan and her husband David Cooper of England, Susan and her husband Fred Moore of Guelph, step-father of Chuck and his wife Karen Goldhang of Ajax, and Allan Goldhang of Scarborough, grandfather of Cathy Terry of Collingwood, Stephen Terry and his wife Kim of Coldwater, Michelle Bird of Port Sydney, Kimberley Bird of Mississauga, Seta Moore of Guelph, and Rebekah McAnsh of Bracebridge, step-grandfather of Stacey and Brandon, great-grandfather of Cody, Chelsea, and Robin Terry of Collingwood, Sarah Terry of Coldwater and Owen Bird-Garvey of Port Sydney. Predeceased by his parents Jack Butler and Mary-Ellen Kingston, brothers Herbert, Jack, Douglas, George and sisters Nellie, Edith, Mabel, and Dorothy. Also missed by special family friend Francine Bayley. Cherished son of Sarah and the late William Pawley. Dear brother of Ralph and his wife Linda, and Diane Murri and her late husband John. Uncle to Dino, Danny, Tracy, Reagan, Devon, and Jason. Fondly remembered by his family and friends for his many artistic endeavours. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. SLATER, Mark -
Mark died at the Lakeridge Hospital, Uxbridge on Saturday, June 30, 2001 surrounded by the love of his family and those special friends who supported him in the last 5 years. Mark leaves wonderful memories and inspiration for his wife Julie and son Matt, and his fianc Juliette. Mark will be missed by his mother Marie (and father, the late Jack) Slater, brother Dave and his wife Donna, and nephew Shawn. Julie's family, Elinor and Walter Beauchamp, sister Kathy, brother Terry (and Helen), and late brother-in-law Bruce (and Tina) plus the nieces and nephews will miss Mark's love and energy. Mark was a dedicated, positive educator teaching in the Scarborough Secondary School Board for 30 years, a coach, an involved community member and always a good friend. Mark was involved in the Terry Fox Run for 20 years. Mark played Varsity basketball and football at University of Toronto, and continued to play with various basketball teams until last year. Mark and Julie travelled around the world and back, and Mark encouraged Matt and Juliette to travel and enrich their lives with the exposure and involvement of other cultures. Mark wished that people would take more time to have a coffee with friends at Tim's and for families to use the multitude of driveway basketball nets more often. The visitation will be Friday, July 6th, 2001 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2:30 p.m. sharp, at the Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge. If desired, donations to the Bruce Beauchamp Memorial Fund or the Terry Fox Foundation would be appreciated.
