BURTT, Thelma Mae -
At the Ajax-Pickering Hospital on Wednesday September 12, 2001 in her 93rd year. Thelma beloved wife of the late Harold Burtt. Loving mother of Juanita and her husband William Harris. Dear grand-mother of Maureen and her husband Howard Todd, Peter Harris and his wife Deborah, Ellen and her husband David Peppiatt, and great grandmother of Stephenie, Ellicea, Sarah, Rachel, Benjamin, and Hannah. Mrs. Bunt will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas St. East., Whitby 2-4 pm Friday, Service in the Chapel Friday 4 pm followed by cremation. Private Interment at Nestleton cemetery at a later date.

CAMPBELL, Douglas Haig -
Following a brief illness, on Wednesday September 12, 2001, at the Centenary Health Centre, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Lilian C.P. Campbell. Dear brother of Ettie and Lottie both of Scotland. Mr. Campbell served with the R.A.F, in the Medical Field for 6 1/2 years. Douglas was a member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and an outstanding Scottish Tenor who sang in all Scottish circles. For 11 years he hosted “Highland Memory” a Scottish Radio Show in Oshawa on CKQS. Visitation will be held at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. Cremation. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

DEVITT, Joseph Lloyd -
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Wednesday, September 12th, 2001 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Velma for 52 years. Loving father of Diane, Stephen, Janice and Bruce. He will be sadly missed by his 4 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. RENTON, Lucy Margaret -
(Retired Union Carbide). In her 89th year. Lucy died peacefully on Wednesday September 12, 2001. Beloved sister of Grace Bell, Mary Fielding and Frances Stong, predeceased by her brother George Renfon. A dear aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lucy will always hove a special place in our hearts. Visitation Friday September 14 from 7-9 p.m. at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax. Funeral Mass at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, Finch Ave., Pickering Saturday September 15th at 10:30 a.m.

STORKS, William John (Bill) -
(Retired long-time employee of Hudson Bay Wholesale) suddenly after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, September 12, 2001, in his 76th year. Bill, loving husband for 54 years of Pauline (nee Deline) of Newcastle. Dear father of Candace (Candy) and the late William Kim. Father-in-law of Dae Marie Storks. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Amanda, Justin, and Ashleigh; his brother A.W. Peterman and his wife Vi of Peterborough; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Grace and Russell Storks. Also missed by his best friend Shamire. Following cremation, friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., (Mill St. exit, just north of 401 at the lights) from 2-4 and 7-9 on Saturday, September 15. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Chisling, BA, MEd, MDiv, officiating. Donations to the Newcastle Community Church in Bill's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.

DAFOE, Lloyd Wilfred (Doc) -
At Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Tuesday September 11, 2001 in his 84th year. Loving husband for 63 years of Irene Park. Dear father of Gaile and her husband Allen Larmer. Loving Grandpa of Karen (Cameron), Cathy (Brian) and Paul (Jenifer). Great grandpa of Emily and Eliza­beth. Dear uncle of Jayne. Mr. Dafoe will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Home, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Friday September 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A service in the chapel on Saturday September 15 at 1 pm. Cremation. In memoriam donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Oncology Unit.

KATCHALUBA, Matthew “Matt” -
After a brief illness at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001 in his 73rd year. Dearly beloved husband of irene. Loving father of Randy and his wife Janet and Daryl and his wife Anianda. Cherished grandfather of Mark (Nancy) Katchaluba, Annette (Joey) Goodwin, Keri-Lyn (Clark) Young and grandson Kyle. Brother of Rose Stolaryk, Margo Kressel and Sylvia Kachaluba. Predeceased by brothers Julie and Steve. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. passed away peaceflully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday September 11, 2001. Son of Millie Miller and the late Benjamin Miller. Born in London, England in January 1949. Loving husband to Linda and devoted father to Paul, Jopathan, Stephen and Andrew. He will be greatly missed by brothers Laurence and Alan and sister Gloria. Former President, Registrar, and coach of Pickering Soccer Club. Keith will be greatly missed by family and friends. Service will be held at Dunbarton­Fairport United Church 1066 Dunbarton Road, Pickering on Saturday September 15, 2001 at 11:00am. Donations to Canadian Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbour Jennie will be greatly missed by her family: Sandra and her husband Bob Haslam of Oshawa, Barry and his wife Marilyn Agner of Woodstock, Sarah Bailey of Ottawa, Rachel Bailey of Oshawa and Ryan Keur of Ottawa. Relatives and friends will be recaived at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St. Bowmanville on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. A service of celebration will be held at ORONO UNITED CHURCH on Wednesday September 12th at 2p.m. with visitation at the Church one hour prior to service. Interment Pontypool cemetery. Donations in memory of Jennie to Orono United Church Choir, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Charity of choice would be appreciated.

MADDOCKS, Margaret Roberta -
b. February 3, 1916 in Toronto, d. peacefully at home in Whitby September 9, 2001, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Donald of Belleville, and brothers Bart and Kit Carson. Margaret lived a very active volunteer life in Belleville until her death became precarious several years ago. Her daughter, Dorothy, cared lovingly for her in her last two years. She will be missed by children Dorothy Pierce of Whitby (and her children David, Carolyn, Jeffrey and Steven), and Roy (Elizabeth, nee Coil, Anne, Emily and Julia Maddocks) of Ottawa. A MemoriaI Service was held at St. Mark’s united Church in Whitby on Tuesday September 11. A service of thanksgiving for Margaret’s life will be held soon at Bridge Street United Church, 60 Bridge Street East at Church, in Belleville. Those wishing may make memorial donations to: -First Adventure Child Development Centre, 225 Bridge Street East, Belleville, Ontario K8N 1 N7, or Covenant House, 20 Gerrard Street East, Toronto, Ontario M58 2P3, or the Charity by which they knew Margaret best.

FOREMAN, James A. (Boogie) -
(Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #637). passed away at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Sunday, September 9th, 2001 in his 73rd year after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving father of Gary (Helen) of Cambridge, Donna (Paul) of Guelph and Brenda (Colin) of Brampton. Dear brother of Barbara. Predeceased by his brothers Floyd and Gordon and sisters Katherine and Irene. Lovingly remembered by Joan Foreman, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
