BRITTON, James Franklin -
WW11 Veteran, Retired 1977, after 42 yrs. service at Ontario Malleable. Peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2001 at Sunnycrest Retirement Villa, Whitby in his 88th year. Franklin, beloved husband of Eleanor M. Britton (nee Holmes). Loving father of Judy Cook, Thomas Britton and his wife Noreen Barton of Wellington, New Zealand, and David Britton and his wife Lynn. Loved grandmother of Benjamin and Matthew of New Zealand, and Gillian and Christopher of Oshawa. Dear sister of Evelyn and her husband Leonard Cole, and Mable Gibbie. A memorial service will be held at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, on Saturday November 3rd at 1 p.m. Friends may visit from 12 noon. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

CONNELL, Thomas William “Torn Terrific” -
At age of 71. passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health Whitby while in the arms of his loving wife June and his daughter Kimberley (Kimberlilly). Tom will be greatly missed by his son-in-law Brian. Grampy will always be in the hearts of his grandchildren Santana and Amber. Beloved brother of James Ronald and his wife Mary (of Whitby) and dear brother-in-law of Fred (Guy) Hayes and his wife Mary (of Texas). Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews will carry their own special memories of Uncle Tom. June and Kim wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Brian Reed and everyone at Lakeridge Health-Whitby for ensuring Tom’s comfort over the last six years. Needless to say, Tom will be missed by "Penny". Family and friends will be received at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE, “Thornton Chapel”, 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Friday, November 2nd, 2001 from 7- 9 p.m. Complete Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.

Suddenly at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Monday, October 29th, 2001. Beloved mother of Kim and her husband Ken Marycz. Loving Nan of Kyle. Sister of Mary and Earl Barks, Eileen and Bob Worsley and the late James Hanson. Sister-in-law of Georgina Hanson. Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 30th from 7 - 9 P.M. At Ballycliffe Lodge on Monday, October 29, 2001, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late John M. Johnston. Loving mother of Kimberley Johnston and mother-in-law of David Austin. Proud Nana of Ashley and Shala. Dear sister of Herbert Smith, Howard Smith, Verna Tuppenney, Bernice Martineau, and the late Reginald, and sister-in-law of Rena, Sarah, and Ruth. Lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Kimberley would like to thank the staff at the Ajax and Pickering Health Centre, and the staff at Ballycliffe Lodge for their special and loving care. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Pine Hills cemetery. passed away at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, Whitby on Monday October 29, 2001 in her 99th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Roy Oliver (1980). Much loved mother of Ruth Oliver of Ashburn, Alex Oliver and his wife Sandra of Calgary, Lois Newell and her husband Don of Kirkfield, Marlene Bovie and her late husband Don of Lindsay and Art Oliver and his wife Phyllis of Myrtle Station. Grandmother of Tracy, Joanne, Debbie, Diane, Marilyn, Patricia, Karen, Gary, Kevin, David, and their families. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Then to Burns Presbyterian Church, Ashburn where visitation will commence from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until time of service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Burns Presbyterian Church cemetery , Ashburn. If desired memorial donations to the Alzheimer society would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2001, at her home in Toronto, at age 85. Verena, beloved daughter of the late Henry and May Graham. She will be missed by Nancy and Archie and her cousins. GRAZIOTTO, Eileen Betty (nee Hurren Strychalski) -
Born in Sudbury April 27, 1933, passed away suddenly after a short illness at her home on October 28th, 2001, in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Jack. Loving mother of son John (Jack) Alfred Hurren and his companion Sue Cousins, daughter Cindy Lynn Graziotto and her companion Preston Henderson. Eileen is predeceased by her son Larry James Hurren, her parents Peter and Stella Strychalski and her brothers Peter Star and Joseph Strychalski. She is survived by sisters Ann Lecuyer, Kay Nemish and her husband Jim, Kerlyeen Cole and her husband Bill, Helen Richards and her husband Carvel, sister in law of Fran Starr all of Oshawa and sister in law Gwen Strychalski of Alberta. Lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Eileen will be remembered and sadly missed by her devoted family and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a long time resident of Oshawa. Her generous spirit continues as she has donated the gift of sight. Eileen will be resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 1, 2001 at 11 a.m. from Holy Cross Church (373 Simcoe St. S.). Devoted chosen Mother of Susan (John) Scott, Jane (Clare) MacDonald, Ann (Jack) Stevenson and their children. Friends will be received at the Beaverton Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 31, 2001 from 1 to 2 p.m. A celebration of Mary's life service will be held at 2 p.m., reception to follow.
